  1. as always very specific jack sure, i guess where 668 branches down to 668 will be a nice place to just jump and tag along. true, we might have to start at 8:15 then, hope its really warm that day
  2. not sure about that bad, i would wait till more input from others, i vaguely remember two marathons there? speedway on 62 is a good option too thats a big enuff pump
  3. am guessing we would have to meet there around 8:30 and kick stand before nine to make it to logan in time. any routes? just looked this up if no one has any suggestions. http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Millersburg,+OH&daddr=40.44349,-81.9578759+to:40.3121069,-82.0837728+to:39.9609021,-82.2645494+to:Elm+Court+Apartment&hl=en&ll=40.066512,-81.782227&spn=0.834473,1.781158&sll=40.032346,-82.110443&sspn=0.417447,0.890579&geocode=FQvQagIdIAge-ymjPgCzqm03iDHHmEZsCKOuVQ%3BFWIeaQIdDWwd-yn1TsctUXE3iDH0N8BDw-NsSw%3BFSodZwIdRIAb-ykDH411CIM3iDH9SoZGPv8sHw%3BFUbBYQIdG74Y-yl3Br6VLhw4iDFPAunci5ps6A%3BFW1HWwIdZK4W-w&oq=millersburh&gl=us&mra=dpe&mrsp=3&sz=11&via=1,2,3&t=m&z=10
  4. nah its perfectly okay to trailer it, why waste tires by slabbing, if i had easy access to a trailer i would put on super sticky tires in bike and trailer to the start of twisty roads and back on short rides. But then again there are long ridres where journey itself is the fun part.
  5. we from the east end of state will meet you in millersburg i guess Marathon in millersburg i assume.
  6. unfortunately not yet, i believe bmwnut said okay for slow group lead, but didnt hear from him again true, if the weather is nice its gonna be alright. What you gonna ride, rocket or couch ? Brian u got a VFR
  7. haha sorry for confusing jargon of a post but what you said is exactly what i meant, and thank you. will update list of leads and sweeps. Leads: Fast Uncle punk Fast-medium- Jschaf fast-Medium: Hailwood? Sweep: fiji-9-brother -medium fast Bad324 -fast-medium/ medium Nightrider- Medium Pokey- Medium
  8. yep, tire change is more profitable than we think I dont think he really needs to do this, but i trust and appreciate him when he says he is just doing this for fellow OR members
  9. i know what you mean, people tend to gravitate to groups that has familiar faces in them and it just works out for some reason. Pre made list would have been awesome, but it is so hard to organize with so many unknown variables like who is gonna show up, who wont, what kind of weather etc. dont worry kent, you will see friends in a group and just jump on it if he was riding your preferred style in past group rides
  10. If you are in the extreme of northern ohio hit up with this guy for a tire change, good price, great service, talk a bit and keep ogling at some fancy stuff in the garage, when i say fancy along with tire change you will never imagine this fancy luxury thx matt for the tires, this is his forum ID http://www.ohioriders.net/member.php?u=5133
  11. Weather pattern prediction all looking very very favourable, for once the big ride might just happen in excellent weather. Hoping to see all the old timers and meet lot of new faces. This is going to be an excellent day for the memories. 70 Now back to request again, Hailwood- you have lead many many group rides and is very responsible. I wish you would vlntr to lead a fast- medium or spirited group Jschaf- I know you would love to jump onto the UP fast band wagon and go vroom but i really appreciate you vlntring to lead, i am guessing NO hoping there wouldnt be many to go with a Fast group, but if there is you can lead the fast group if not is it okay to lead the Fast medium aka spirited group? To new riders joining in the ride, i will keep repeating this till the day of the ride. There are no egos on this day, It was sp great to see OR act responsibly the last two years. More than 90% of riders joined the med and slow group infact more than 75% were riding the slow comfortable pace and every body had a good time. Hopefully that trend keeps up esp since we are hitting 555 Nobody remembers who rode the fast group, but every one will remember who crashed. Dont be mislead by the looks of the guys lining up to lead a group, last year UP fooled couple of people with that greyed out bearded look with big bag on the back of bike. things looked simple until the twisty part came I am sure few were thanking god that the ride ended early. So no more mistakes this time, join one group down from what you think you ride.
  12. jbot, i am serious when i say this, you should write a book, your intellectual-imaginatively creative- verbal exercises are way beyond to be wasted in just forum post. Pick a topic you like, "race day" and start writing it down in MS word or blog or some thing. On topic: hope more pics are taken and posted as the build progress
  13. you dont look happy sitting on that thing still nice to see you having a good time
  14. And i would add the main reason me going to vfr direction was for two up friendly touring bike which is not that heavy. For eg: me and wife like to travel a lot, hit back roads twisties and eventually visit a city which we never been to, Carry lot of stuff on the hard bags, sit comfy on the flat wide seat, vfr can hussle thru the curves and is fun doing it and eventually when u come to that crowded city it still light enough to navigate them crowds easy unlike a 700+ dedicated ST. and when its all said and done and you ride solo you can just throw it around as much as your skill allows and the bike will take it. May not be as quick as dedicated inline 4 sports bike, and not as flickable and "torqy" as the light weight twins. Still lots of fun.
  15. thats a beautiful bike jch82 i always wanted a white, thomas for your viewing pleasure here are some VFR video, mushy love to ruthless passion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUQq94Kle3A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPrUTLoVLJ4 i second every thing jester said, jack of all trades master of none. For 7k budget u can have a fully set up, VFR 06+ with saddlebags and suspension upgrades, seat and an exhaust (if your into that). I am moving to detroit. i got my 2008 for the top of KBB value as it was in mint condition with less than 4k miles on it.
  16. Liar ....keep above 6.4 rpm
  17. Wah another multi right around here, join us for rides so that Pauly doesn't feel special And hope to buy this bike used in 3 years time as its the right size for me
  18. sure, i will put you down for medium or medium fast Need more leads guys, people who can remember the route and stuff plz volunteer
  19. Still dont have the leads and sweeps worked out, need more volunteers these are the following group, i would stress start one group down so that to avoid mistakes, no egos here, no one will remember whtr we rode fast or not, but every one will remember who crashed The Groups Always start one group below what you feel you ride. Meaning if you think your fast, start with medium fast group and if you are comfortable move to the fast group during gas break after letting the lead and sweep know. Better to be safe than sorry. Remember we might be riding roads very new to you. FAST : one group -Usually 70mph on the straight and 25-30 mph over the posted limit of curve. -The people who belong to the group know they belong to this group, they dont think they belong here. -Dont jump in here unless you been riding with such fellows for some time. eg: UP, Midgettod, Hutch, Core rides Medium-Fast: two groups -65-70mph on the straight and 20-25 over the posted limit opf curve. - This is the usual fast rides some group rides do, still dangerously fast -Jump in here if you been riding for a while and is comfortable at these paces on most roads Medium : two groups -65 mph on the straight and 15-20 over the posted limit opf curve. - This is the everyday regular group rides pace, -Jump in here if you been riding for a while and is comfortable at these paces on most roads Slow : two groups -60 mph or around posted limit on the straight and upto 10 over the posted limit of curve. - This is the a very comfortable yet fun group ride, -Jump in here if you like doing friendly fun rides and also new riders must join here -The last two rides most people rode this group showing zero ego issues and they had most fun, - No ego in both years kept our rides with 0 casuality Cruiser and heavy touring: one group -All the mammoth bikes and cruisers -They enjoy the road and own the road at their own pace -Made sperate group just in case there is enough numbers -more than free to join any of the above group based on their own preference.
