  1. Getting a pic together when I get home, guys.
  2. http://americanwoodworker.com/blogs/projects/archive/2009/03/04/tom-s-torsion-box-workbench.aspx My neighbor built this - I have almost everything I'd need to make it at home already - I'd modify it to just have a flat top. It's pretty stout - he does woodworking so he needs all the vises and stuff. I think I may break down and build it in the next couple of weeks.
  3. Shoot - almost forgot, unloading one from the Uhaul - 8/10 of a mile on it, it hit the ice (bought it new in January) and slid out from under me - all that did was break the brake lever - than goodness for the snow! In a similar note, I also unloaded a bike from the bed of a lifted F250 with nothing but a 2x6... we basically dropped it as it came down the "ramp" but it rolled to the end and landed standing straight up in the loose soil at the end of the ramp.
  4. I had a buddy bump mine while he was getting his out of the porch. Also ran into one with the car in the garage. Luckily neither one was terribly valuable.
  5. Man, I gotta say F**K Google+. Not becuse I don't like it, but I can barely keep up with OhioRiders, Facebook, DoTheTon, eBay and my Email... I'm TOO connected as it is.
  6. As promised, had some more time with the family and with the Cafe. Tidied up the last part of the garage and started to work again with disassembly. I got the front header off and exhaust loose to get the bike on the jack: Then started to tear into the front end electrics: Almost every bike of this era likes to ram every bit of wiring and junctions they can into the headlight. I plan to elimiate a bunch of this and relocate it under the tank. The battery will live in the tail. Last, here's a pile of stuff destined for eBay: Hopefully this will give me enough to get myself a late model front end. Most of the pieces for the rear wheel conversion are here, just waiting on the wheel itself - a project for another day...
  7. Hey guys, cleaning up the garage. Five shelf unit, Rubbermaid, black and grey. Good for garage, would need cleaned and degreased to use inside. PM me - first one who wants it gets it. Thanks!
  8. Hey guys - looking into getting this kit. I have a bunch of 2x4x10 sitting in the garage and I'd like to make a nice workbench. I'm sure I could build it easily with only wood, but man, this kit looks easy. Thoughts? http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200466790_200466790?cm_sp=Upsells-_-Top%20Sellers-_-Product%20Page
  9. My sister-in-law was in her twenties before she pumped gas the first time. And she lived in Ohio. Something about blonde hair and big... eyes.
  10. Picked this up today - thanks Simplysix!
  11. Wish you luck, madcat - I usually can't stand those Cougars done up, but yours is nicely done. Very sharp. $8k sharp? Not sure... definately to the right buyer, and I wish you luck finding that person.
  12. I've had mixed experience - sometimes I get nothing but spam, sometimes I get nothing but real people. I started not listing a name, number or email - I ask people to send me a number if they are interested.
  13. Been trapped in Indianapolis for almost a day, so I'm kind of stir crazy - here's some of the bikes I'm using for inspiration- The Zero Engineering Tribute bike - this is the one that got me looking at Viragos in the first place. "Reciprocity" - I love the tail and the use of the later front end, wish they used the Virago wheel - kind of anal about that kind of thing... maybe there's a way? Love the exhaust system on this one. Last, but not least - Ringo's LeMans CB550 - Love this body work - all hand formed. Also love the paint scheme. Whenever I get home I have a day off - should have some Cafe time then!
  14. Also, I'll be the one to say it - they only know it was replaced if you tell them it was. If they don't know it was replaced, they don't ask for receipts.
  15. I've been through this twice, one with a car and one with a bike. The car was already fixed whe I bought it, so I just took it down for inspection. I told them I bought it like it sits and didn't replace anything myself. It was roadworthy and they stamped it. The bike was a mess and I did all the work myself. I saved all receipts and did what Myhondas above did- printed Paypal stuff and took it in for them. I had a folder about 1/2" thick. I think I just overwhelmed them. Ultimately, I think the goal is to ensure the bike is not stolen and stolen parts were not used. I think if you give them something, they're ok with it.
  16. Saw this today in Westerville - anyone claim it?
  17. Almost got it, but I've torn down a Virago before and the way the frame is laid out, this style jack makes it easy. Just take off the exhaust, strap the engine down and rip the bike apart around the engine.
  18. Well, without getting on a soap box here, eBay very heavily favors the buyer in every transaction. You should have no problem getting money back, either through PayPal or eBay Buyer Protection. Just be patient. Had a similar issue a few months back - bought a digital manual for my Sable, arrived great, still use it. Ordered one for momma's Quest - CD came blank and seller fell off the face of the earth. Looks like every Nissan manual he sold for a month was junk and he just pulled up ties and moved on. Weird how that happens... Luckily, as a side note, the manual I DID get was good from 97-99 models and all F/L/M Products including Villager, the sister to the Quest. So I still got a manual for the van by accident.
  19. Not much time this week to turn wrenches, but I spent some time on eBay. Had a good weekend sellin garage junk and turned some of that around into the project. XJ1100 rear wheel, rotor and caliper headed to me for the rear disc conversion. EBC still makes new rotors so I'll get one of them later, this one is just to mock up. Also have some bids in on a front end and on rear sets. More to come!
  20. I've always thought of the Busa as a fat man's bike for just this reason.
  21. With this place being right on 23, you'd think it would be more visable.
