  1. It's not till Nov 29, venue is in kenmore. Thanks everyone, good info so far.
  2. I'm getting married in November. Here's the deal: 'everlong' by the foo fighters is our song. Our dream is to walk down the aisle to that song played on strings. It turns out that hiring professional cellists is a bit expensive. So I figured I'd see if I could find a solid amateur. So help me out. Help me make our wedding awesome.
  3. Any John deere mechanic should be able to diagnose your issues.
  4. I never drink multiple cups of coffee before a long ride....
  5. Bfd. My 750 doesn't even have a keyed ignition, broke years ago. Just a toggle switch on a plate bolted to the bar clamp. Rode it for 3 or 4 years like that without anyone even touching it.
  6. I wouldn't bother with ignition timing unless you've been messing with it already. Valve clearances are easy enough, need feeler gauges and basic hand tools. If you're not charging I'd check the voltage regulator/rectifier first...not sure if 1980 still used a mechanical regulator or not...unless your idle hangs when you blip the throttle I'd just turn it down a bit after it warms up, my 750 does the same thing...The exhaust should be easy depending on whether your bike has the spigots and pinch clamps or the thrust clamps. Make sure you replace the 4 copper crush gaskets thst go between the head and the pipes....you can't see them but they are there.
  7. No josh. On a limited access divided highway there is no reason for a driver to expect someone to stop. If her car was in park without hazards on she would appear to be a moving vehicle until the brain registered that the closing speed between the two vehicles was too fast for her to be moving. While driving the brain relies on shortcuts that it has learned: brake lights for example. It takes too long for the brain to judge closing distance and speed, so we have brake lights to instantly alert the brain that it must slow down or move around the car in front of them.
  8. I've been shooting since I was idk...11 or 12. After my class I spent lots of time and money unlearning all the bad habits I had taught myself or learned from my dad/uncles/brother etc.. look at some Masad ayoob or magpul dynamics videos on YouTube and at least learn proper grip and stance before you go shoot.
  9. I was gonna suggest shadow 1100. I had one for a while, decent power, low seat height and comfy 2 up. Lighter and quicker than it looks and silky smooth shaft drive
  10. Thing about knife fights is almost always one person goes to the hospital, the other the morgue....and all in a matter of seconds.
  11. Looks fun for tracking but I couldn't use it for daily driver.
  12. If you're gonna build a new deck and it's gonna see any kind of sun exposure, use the composite stuff. It's spendy but the maintenance is so much easier....
  13. Wow tim...either you got fucked in the mouth or I'm getting a crazy good deal...I'm having basically twice the square footage done plus tear out and finishing for $1k more....
  14. You'd be surprised how hard it is to get someone out to quote a job around here, contractors are just so busy with all the commercial stuff and the new housing allotments that they rarely call back let alone come to quote a job. It's not just concrete, we had called 2 companies to quote a job re hanging some gutters. One just never showed up. The other came, looked at the job and mailed us a quote. I called him that day, left a voice mail telling him to come asap and get to work and he never called or showed up. Had an exterminator make an appointment to come check for termites and never show. I guess my house is just small potatoes...
  15. Power curve on an old school i4 is just fine. Maxim 650 comes to mind...it's a gentleman's bike, nothing at all like the modern i4, but like 60 some odd hp. Enough to have fun on but not enough to get you in trouble...and they have wide seats, low pegs and high bars. I see em on cl for around $1500 all the time.
  16. That's what I've been hearing. I'm tearing out the deck tomorrow, he's gonna come tear out the existing patio and walkway and set up forms thurs, then pour it after the holiday weekend. Will post pics.
  17. Bandit is comfy 2 up....or pretty much any ujm. Nighthawk, seca, kz, gs....any Jap i4 from the 70's or 80's.
  18. They make those for clip ons?
  19. The decision has been made to get rid of the wood ddek...it was built by amateurs and requires more work than I'm willing to put in. Would rather be spending the cash on a track whore but well....my sammich maker would never go for that.
  20. Cut open a box worth of small game loads, fill bars with lead shot.
  21. Abc. Always be carrying. If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your need to reevaluate your tactics. but I don't carry much anymore. Last time I carried was when we took the pooch to a new dog park, in case we encountered some irresponsible person with an assault dog...and we did...some old lady had a lab mix that attacked my dog...The encounter was brief and my dog got away with a cut nose and bruised ego but if the other dog had been persistent in attacking my dog, I'd have shot it right there in front of its owner. My mom was walking her little dog back in March when a neighbors dog ran up and killed him right in front of her. My dog is big but he's very submissive and doesn't have a fighting bone in his body. I don't take him out of the yard without a pistol.
