  1. Gotta love the super standard. Mine is super comfy and I found out today, a lot faster than a gsxr600.
  2. Not a painted strip, those are nylon cords, they are officially out of tread and into casing. Next stage is rim, but no worries, with the chain off the sprocket they will never get there. Guessing chain broke and locked up judging by the amount of rust.
  3. oops. Doom on me for not vetting my post.
  4. Idk when the pissing match will end, but I like watching. http://www.dragbike.com/dbnews/templates/fast1320_z13.aspx?articleid=1958
  5. You gotta be fuckin with me.
  6. Exup would be a pretty cheap fix...easier than pulling the valve cover off.
  7. Well a decent mechanic should be able to check the con rod for stretch and warp without splitting the cases....no con rod damage probably equals no crank damage. Ouch on the jug....wonder why so expensive? Kinda rare bike?
  8. I appreciate the work you put into making the video but the audio on this is too dirty with the exhaust noise, other engine noise and the echos of those noises off the walls of your garage. Needs to be heard in person.
  9. That has definitely been the case so far this season. Hell, I'm too busy working on other people's stuff to work on my own, let alone ride it.
  10. If the bottom end isn't trashed a rebuild shouldn't be too bad as far as parts...rebuild the head with new valves and guides, buy a used jug and piston, few gaskets and slap it together.
  11. Hanging out in a garage is a lot more fun when it's not hot as balls outside. That's why I carry motors down into my basement shop for rebuilds.
  12. I'm in neo. Massillon to be exact, it's between akron and canton.
  13. So there's this guy kenn Blanchard. He's the black man with a gun...former marine, reverend, and podcaster extraordinaire. He's done the urban shooter podcast for years now, and lately he started motorcycle radio podcast. He's been my Facebook friend for years and today he messaged me and asked if I would do an interview for his podcast about working on your own bike. I said yes and 5 min later he was recording me over the phone. I hope he's good at editing because I had just gotten home from work on a new shift and had gotten 7 hrs of sleep in the last 48 hrs. Idk when the episode is going up but he did offer me a recurring spot if I want it, maybe q&a with listeners or just tech tips. Anyway, it's as famous as I'm gonna get without taking a rifle up a bell tower. Here's his page: http://motorcycleradio.us/
  14. I'm doing a top end right now on a customers quad. I don't split cases if I can help it. If you really want to learn, go buy a knackered motor from a salvage yard and tear into it. Best way imho. I'm almost always working on something so if anyone wants to come over for a clinic they are welcome provided they bring some beers and don't slow me down with too many questions...and I can always use a stepnfetchandneversweat
  15. So much want...I miss liter v twin power, should have kept the tl and put it back together.
  16. Used to balance 30 packs of beer on the tank of my fzr lol. I'd be down for another garage get together as long as it's closer to neo this time. 2.5 hours of slab gave me a wicked hemorrhoid.
  17. Lights, street tires, street suspension, sumo hooligan bike. If only I didn't have so many projects right now.
  18. Cali, you're outside the bell curve when it comes to chicks and bikes, this is something not a lot of people are used to. As far as men cooking, something like 90% of the executive chefs in america are male, people just don't think about it. I've always enjoyed cooking, made my first omelet at age 10 and to my mother's surprise it turned out perfectly. Be proud that you surprise the guys at the parts counter.
