  1. I was gonna go the cigarette lighter option until I found a dual usb bar mount on ebay. Skip the middleman.
  2. After a quick ride it feels lean in the midrange. Pulls like crazy up top and down low but big flat spot between 3 and 7k. Time to fiddle with needles and shims till I get it right. Hot as balls in the garage today.
  3. I'm going by dyno sheets I've seen from other tuners. The bikes come with 100 hp and 67 lbs torque stock and there is a ton of potential left in them. Look at the numbers for a 1st gen gsxr1100, basically the same motor only the gsxr has less displacement and more compression and is cammed for top end. I've seen dyno sheets from guys making 150/90 out of these motors with the mods I've done plus high compression pistons and a header.
  4. There's a party at a biker bar I. Doylestown next month, they will have a dyno there, $20 a pull.
  5. A special tool for adjusting screw type tappets with an 8mm nut and a square drive screw. (Bandit, old school gsxr, katana etc) I know one exists.
  6. I don't live in akron where you can either drown in your basement or get killed by a tornado upstairs.
  7. I don't live in akron where you can either drown in your basement or get killed by a tornado upstairs.
  8. Cams in. Ran like hell with stage 2 setup. Decided to go full retard. Went ahead and synchronized the carbs..hoping for decent weather tomorrow to test and tune.
  9. I live in massillon. You should drop by some time for a beer, I'm on the northeast side.
  10. Welcome. I'll try and beat everyone else to the punch... Buy quality full gear if you haven't already. Boots pants jacket gloves helmet. It has saved a lot of people on here, myself included. Take the msf class. It will make you a better rider and is well worth the time and money. Plenty of members down that way to ride with. I'm a bit far away but maybe we will run into each other at a ride. Have fun.
  11. He asked me to go with him to check it out. I wish I had.
  12. Should have contacted the landlord the minute your stuff was gone and asked to be removed from the lease.
  13. One that is very excited about getting his first liter bike for under a grand and who had been assured by an employee that it ran and just needed a starter.
  14. New cams in. Waiting for jamal to come over tomorrow with the torque specs and sequence tomorrow. Fucking hands are shredded.
  15. Yeah....deal fell through, he's still stuck with a junk bike with blown motor and tranny. Posted it on Craigslist and mentioned in the ad that he bought it from an employee there on their premises and received an email threatening to sue him for slander. Fuck rick roush in his ass, I'll never spend a penny there.
  16. Got the old cams out in 2 beers. The lobes and bearing surfaces are immaculate. This makes me feel good about the entire engine, it's obvious that it has been broken in and maintained properly. Done for the night, should have it back together, valves adjusted and running tomorrow.
  17. 3d pen looks sweet. I'll be excited when it can draw with metal.
  18. If you live anywhere near cbus you should buy the tire on ebay and have it shipped to Hoblick. He's a great guy and does tire changes. Message him if you're close to the marysville area.
  19. I won't be doing nothing, trust me. I'm having my annual combo birthday/memorial day party at my house the following weekend and the deck needs refinishing badly...plus a billion other things need done. We made a list today and it's pretty daunting. Just can't do it.
  20. I'm out. Can't handle a 14 hr day on the bike and can't find trailer space....and I got put in the slooooow group...and I have way too much work to do on the house and the yard. Maybe next time.
  21. That's all my Catholic friends ever talk about...kid - fucking and silly hats...
  22. Make sure you use raw brats, not smoked. And be careful, this will forever change what you believe is a good sausage sammich. You've been warned, now pass me the crestor.
  23. Yeah. Usually I would just look up how many links go between cams and go by the timing marks but this makes things easier.
  24. It has begun. Cams and jets arrived yesterday, pods come tomorrow. Cracked the motor open tonight after work, drank a few beers and made some progress. Removed seat, tank, ignition coils and oil lines Pulled the valve cover and was greeted by one of the cleanest valve trains I've ever met. 26k on the clock and looks brand new Pulled the timing cover and rotated the motor to tdc on #1. The kat cam sprockets have a different pitch than the bandit, so I'll have to swap cam sprockets. Pauly told me a great tip: mark a tooth and link on each cam to make shit idiot proof. that's as far as I got tonight. Beer count was up to 3 and that's my limit for work inside a motor. More to come over the weekend between mother's day, yard work, family dinners and other useless activities.
