  1. Eh....does the benefit really outweigh the cost? Do you really do 160 that much? While I am an acceleration junkie, and believe me I am, I love the massive surge of torque that makes your eyeballs flatten out, I just don't see the point. Then again I'm working with a much bigger motor. Butters, cost is a factor. so is ease. As a mechanic I'd much rather change a rear sprocket than a front. Less drama involved. As far as gross impact on ratio, here's a calculator that will answer your questions: http://www.gearingcommander.com
  2. My cousin brought his over Saturday night. I crashed it a few times but it's still cool as shit for $40. Will be terrorizing my cats with it when it comes. Video review and flight:
  3. See all those great big words on the road? They don't say "go faster"
  4. You can only redline in 6th now because you're going slow enough to. I don't see the point....
  5. Bandit 1200 has more than enough motor to be happy with acceleration with stock gearing. Sometimes on the freeway I wish they had put in a 6th gear but not enough to change my gearing. I guess I could put a smaller sprocket out back and be happy, can't really use the top half of 1st gear or the top half of the throttle in 1st or 2nd due to power wheelies.
  6. Wish I could get some tomorrow. I might if I wake up early enough. Really felt good to put some miles on today. Scenery in the valley was nice even tho its a bit barren. Also weird to be riding in 65° sun and see snow on north facing hillsides. It definitely wasn't the usual ORDN ride, only 1 tank of gas, conservative pace and we all stopped to enjoy some wings and shitty service at the peninsula winking lizard. My fueling issue was definitely resolved by rebuilding the petcock and I couldn't shake down any other issues. Jamal however had a few stalls and an erratic idle that has plagued his bike for some time now. Our route took us through the valley, into the falls, through west akron and back into the valley. My body is definitely NOT used to riding. Was pretty uncomfortable by the time we were heading home. Hammies were cramping up from my legs being bent for so long. Happens every year, usually lasts a few weeks. Butt is still a bit sore even tho I took some advice I found on here and wore compression shorts under my leathers. Low point of the day was listening to a voice mail from my brother at the lizard. My mom was walking her tiny little papillon dog and a huge dog attacked and killed him right in front of her, so that really sucked. But otherwise a good day. Wanted to put in a full review now that the fiancé is asleep and I can take the time to do so.

    Grips

I've rocked progrips on my last couple bikes. Look sharp and feel good. Can't go wrong.
  8. Yeah I gotta go back to the jobby job tomorrow.
  9. My bike isn't black. My luggage is and all my gear is tho. But yeah that was probably us.
  10. Good riding with you tim. Have to do it again soon.
  11. The smelting plant makes zero difference. 90% of lead used in ammo manufacturing comes from recycled car batteries.
  12. I'm down. Should be in the valley by 2pm. Anyone willing to meet up should pm one of us.
  13. I don't speed in neighnorhoods. That's just a dick move.
  14. Or upload to photobucket and copy the IMG link to the forum. Welcome to bandit love. If the 600 is half as awesome as the 1200 is then you have bought a great bike. I'm intimately familiar with every aspect of these bikes. Pm me with any questions.
  15. Yeah....122 is fast....but not fast for a motorcycle.
  16. Might switch to tues. Jamal needs a new battery and if he gets his shit right it's on for mon. If not, then I will work Monday and take tues off and lead the ride.
  17. Jap iron just makes twice the power for half the money and weight. Has something to do with this new concept of research and development and having this other thing called competition....
  18. The good old days...remember steel beer cans? Remember the magnetic Pepsi can lookalike you could put on your beer can while you drank and drove? my grampa had one. Drove for the teamsters for 30 odd years after the war till he lost his butt hole to cancer and retired on a medical, not one ticket his whole life.
  19. The money you have to put into a harley motor to get it to make 1 horse per cube can't justify the power to weight ratio when it goes back into the frame.
  20. Would be better if the step father beat him with the Xbox and then ran over it.
  21. One day a week? The same day everyone goes to church? Doubtful.
