Yeah, I tried shaving the lips on mine, just couldn't get it perfect, sold the mags, put the box back on and practiced reloading with clips. Eventually sold it to help finance another gun purchase.
I have never been able to find a hi-cap mag for sks that feeds reliably, I've tried steel, plastic, different brands, different ammo, all jam. I'm not the only one either, I remember it being a big issue on the gun and game forums.
I find most of the noise in my vortex comes from the recesses for speakers and the collar, mostly on the buckle side from hanging it in my locker at work.
If you early birds can adjust the start time for us 2nd shifters I am down. I miss out on all the group rides because they start a few hours after my bed time. Or if you can schedule a meeting point noonish within 50 or so miles from massillon I can join up. This has been a shit season for me, what being hit by a fucking car and all, then getting a damn monsoon season through most of June. I need a good ride with a bunch of dickheads, assholes and strangers (note to strangers, you're probably a dickhead or an asshole) so lets try and let the ole skull crusher join in the reindeer games shall we?
Mixed up a few gin and tonics in the garage and decided to rivet the cans back together. Made a quick video of it starting and running.
Come buy my shit.
Mutt, it takes maybe ten seconds. I wear transitions eyeglasses but the uv coating on helmet visors prevents them from darkening. In my experience they go from clear to dark much faster than they go from dark to clear, so if you have tunnels or covered bridges to go through it may not be a good choice. I haven't rode with it yet as its been pretty shit weather today.
I've had other lids, hic, icon, some other brands. The fit and finish on bell helmets is superior to others I've had, maybe you got a bad one. I don't think I'd go with the vortex again just because of wind noise issues, maybe rs1 or star for my next bucket. As far as venting and comfort, I love it.
Me too, for months. My eyeglasses are transitions lenses but the uv coating on helmet visors prevents them from darkening. I don't like carrying around two visors and plan to buy bell helmets for the forseeable future and the visor fits vortex, star, rs1 and revolver models so I will definitely get good use out if it
Indeed it is pauly, and he'll remember those times. When I was a kid I thought my dads Honda was the fastest shit in the world, part of the reason I'm building one.
I've actually had helmet spiders before...little Fucker started waltzing across my visor while riding....like 2 or 3 blocks from home....luckily my iron nerves kicked in and I calmly pulled to the side of the road, opened the visor and repeatedly punched myself in the face trying to liberate my little arachnid friend. Helmet lives on top of the fridge now.
40 yrs in the making motherfucker....at least from the castings. I've been slowly building this gorilla-raping murder-cycle for the past few years with the money I've earned from grave robbing and purse-snatching. If I can sell this bike and a few mildly radioactive components that I've supplied to the D.O.D...some tasty nuggets of technology.....I might have this mill grinding rubber and shining smiles by September. Anyway, come buy my shit.
73 Honda 750 punched out to 850 with 11.5:1 pistons, hot cam, racing valves, heavy duty springs and chain tensioner, ported and polished head, heavy duty clutch, modded carbs, velocity stacks, header with gutted can, dyna s ignition and coils....
Tank is dark green. They recalled the 97 tanks because of a leak around the fuel pump. P.O. took it in last year or the year before and they were out of red tanks so they gave him a green one. Also has the recall steering damper, manual fan switch, smart TRE and newer stator. Pazzo knock-off levers, pro-grip grips, emgo annodized pegs, comes with both rear seat and cowl.
Tail fairings were removed so I could get at the exhaust hangers and replace them. They are in good shape. The belly fairing is pretty busted up, probably not salvageable. One side of the headlight is pretty scuffed up, I have replacement fairing stay/mirrors bracket. Here you can see how tweaked the headers are. There's a guy on tlplanet with a full set for $50+shipping. Radiator will run $150-200. Would make a sweet street fighter for someone who had time to dick with it.
