Well genius, when you buy a new AR lower it carries a serial number filed with the manufacturing company as an AR lower, you fill out a 4437 and pass a background check. When you buy a crossbow you walk out of the store with it. No company would manufacture a crossbow made of a functioning AR lower, the atf would skull-fuck the janitor, the CEO and everyone inbetween and the liability of the civil suits stemming from felons buying a crossbow and pinning it to an upper (which is not a weapon and can technically be purchased by a felon) and shooting people would bankrupt the company. Mango, I'm sure the complete version uses a lower that isn't compatible with a rifle upper. If it was and you pinned an upper to it you would immediately be a felon for manufacturing a firearm without permit.

Got a pair in the mail this morning, seem pretty well-built. The padding in the hips is minimal and doesn't look like it would do much good. Lots of mesh, pretty much in an area the size of a large pair of boxers on the front and in the backs of the legs below the knee in the back. Ballistic nylon re-enforcement in the knees and ass is generous, they look like they can take a beating. Legs unzip up to the knee. Knee armor is adjustable and stays in place pretty good. With the liner out you could easily wear these over jeans or work pants but doubtful with the liner in. Once it warms up I'll take these on a ride and see how well they breathe.

I have 4 bikes right now, a 72 Suzuki ts90, a 97 Suzuki tl1000s that I laid down on a group ride last fall and am currently fixing (just need to fix cans and paint new fairing) a shadow 1100 I picked up last November because I couldn't pass up the price and the wifey wants something comfy to sit on the back of, and my eternal project bike, a 73 cb750 bored to 850, racing cam, valves, ignition etc that will hopefully be a bad-ass cafe racer if I ever get it done. I commute to work daily during the season, plus ride before and after and usually burn a tank on Saturdayfor fun. Looking to do a track day or two this summer to build my skills so I don't have a repeat of my off-road adventure last fall. Hope to ride with ya this year.
