If you come may 5th you will be disappointed because the meet is april 28th. Stop by tho, I might be home

Every week or so I'll run my edc over some crock sticks for upkeep, then maybe twice a year I'll get out the lansky and re-hone the edge. I should probably get some diamond hones for the lansky, that would make things much easier.

I have a Kershaw leek with composite blade. Cutting edge is D2 tool steel (harder than a wedding prick) and the rest is sandvik stainless. Metals look to be brazed together but could have been done differently. Great knife but absolute hell to sharpen due to the hardness of the blade. I also have a bunch of other kershaw blades and a few CRKT ones, some case, some buck, a few bear and sons, an opinel that belonged to my grandpa and various other knives. Right now they live in the top drawer of my bedside table with my carry pistols and spare mags, but there isn't much room left and I was considering buying a glass top display case to keep at least some of the nicer ones in.

Ordered new fork legs for the vintage hondarocket. Next is cartridge emulators and better springs, then a nicer looking headlight bucket, then I'll get it in the air, pull the whole front end off, replace the steering head bearings and maybe the top triple, then build the new forks and put new headlight on new forks with these nice skeletonized black bullet aluminum mounts I have instead of the huge ugly chrome ones and that part of the bike will be done. Pics when I get all the parts and do it.

Yeah, I've had to never dull my damascus blades in the past and my case knife already has a few spots on it. Drunk-ordered a few knives last night along with new fork tubes for my cb850....I need to start locking my wallet up when I hit the sauce.

Fuck it, april 28th. Final. Sorry Tim, wish you could make it but I gotta piss with the cock I got. Prospects on homebrew are dubious, I've poured a lot of batches down the drain recently because of various issues and I don't have much free time lately to brew, but there will be beer. I will also welcome assistance in the meat department (insert gay joke here [in my ass]) Its fucking on. 4/28/18 at noon-ish. I may have to work that morning but we will figure it out. Mark your calendars ladies.

Yeah, I'm glad I made the move for sure. Definitely better to be employed while job hunting, gives you much more power to bargain for the position. Since being hired I've been contacted by a few more companies and some head hunters...idk if I'll retire from where I'm at but I'll definitely spend some years here.

I'm at work now. Hard to pass up $34.50/hr and it's only a half day. Also, if I don't work today I'll end up in the weeds next week working 12's to dig myself out. We have a production schedule to keep. Maybe when you and your buddy start your window company you'll see how that works. Your current employer also has to pay insurance on you, your buddy, your work, their vehicles, etc and they are assuming all the risk in the business and selling the jobs. All you have to do is show up, and I've installed vinyl windows before, $22 is damn good money for how easy that shit is.

Interested. Also curious about price.

Which model kershaw?

So I've always liked knives, and over the past 8 years or so I have started collecting in earnest. Mostly practical pocket knives to be carried and abused, but lately I've been getting into higher end stuff, exotic steels, different handle materials..... ive built a few from kits, my latest is a damascus steel blade and bolster lockback with abalone handles (pic below). Very easy kit, the only real work was finishing the abalone scales. They came rough sawed, had to sand them down to 1500 grit, then polish to bring out the abalone through the acrylic. I'm also tending to look at more traditional patterns vs the modern pocket clip, liner or side lock quick open knives. Picked up a case stockman while I was in Pittsburgh in February, and grabbed up a small buck lockback with rosewood handles and silver-nickel bolsters over the weekend. Currently looking at some bear and son damascus blade smooth bone handled folders. Damn expensive but oh so pretty, and their damascus is much higher quality than any other I've seen.

Now I'm definitely not going.

Scratch the 5th. My wife's cousin had brain surgery to remove a tumor and there is a fundraising event to help cover his medical bills on the 5th. The 12th is my father in laws birthday so that's fucked too. So either the 19th of may or the last Saturday in April. Please post up and gimme some direction one way or the other.

Boo. Was hoping you'd make it out again this year. Oh well, enjoy your funer- I mean wedding.

Usually goes from noon on, but I've had people show as early as 10:30 to help set up and test the beer and food for quality purposes. I wanna see you slide that firechicken all caddywompus down my street while waving an American flag and slamming a big mac.

Much more secure than aerospace. Not quite as glamorous tho. I guess it's only ever gotten slow at Stolle Machinery once, and they were down to 40 hour weeks for a few months.

Ok, after a month at the new place I'm happy. It isn't perfect, like every manufacturing company there are issues, but you get that everywhere. The director of ops just announced this week that we had a great first quarter and are on track to beat our sales numbers from last year, which was $109M or something like that. Corporate is so happy they have earmarked $9M for additional machines over the next 2 years and we will also be hiring 15-20 more machinists and support staff. It's amazing to be working somewhere that's growing at this rate. I'm used to the hours now, and I'm so fucking busy all day that they pretty much fly by. I got my first full 2 week paycheck today and I've never made so much money in my life. I'm starting to get to know our product line better, you wouldn't believe how much goes into making a fucking beer can. It's awesome to watch them test run the presses before they ship them out. A 24 die shelling press running at 700 strokes per minute is pretty cool to see. 24 can top blanks flying out every stroke, so over 240 a second. Anyway, thought I'd drop a little update. We got good Friday off so I'm still in bed with the dogs enjoying the chance to be lazy for once.

Cinco de mayo. Maybe our resident mexican will show up in his white trashmobile.....

Ok. May 5th is looking like the day I can do this. It should be kinda slow at work so i should have that Saturday off. How does that work for everyone? Hopefully it's nice enough for lots of bikes and bubbies.

I should be able to make this.

Wink wink nudge nudge

I may take you up on that. Part of what made last year suck was staying up til 2am smoking meat. I'd gladly pay for a few pork butts if you wanna prep and smoke them. Then I could do brats again and pasta or mac n cheese or something
