  1. You need to broaden your riding horizons.
  2. Do the last clip toward the end of the ride when some of us got a bit frisky on the final road, you have that one? Is where you were right behind me, and I was following that local rider in front of me.

I don't wanna be in trouble with both the wife and my momma. Y'all have fun and be careful!
  4. Governor Cuomo and Mayor Bloomberg "bastards" arent gonna like that.
  5. Build quality and rep is excellent, honestly hard to go very wrong with most anyways. The BCG and barrel is where many like to spend extra money where it isn't even needed or gonna make much of a difference, a good trigger job and some nice furniture is worth it though. You can't be real picky these days, take what ya can get.

Twas it not Mothers Day, I would've been interested.
  7. Just watched the whole vid "that was awesome"!!! I do some things right and I for sure do some things wrong, and that all made so much sense and was very humbling. Being consistent doing the right techniques is the hardest thing to do, and all the SR's listed I have for sure encountered at some point in time. Now to go out and practice and put these principles to use, motorcycles are amazing machines in the right hands.
  8. Glad you had fun cause I did too, and those big Kawa bikes need to get out and breathe in the open air a bit. Hope you and the boss can make it out for the Laborday weekend bash, we have a great time all weekend. I liked that route we did Sat allot, I would add a bit more to it for a good route option at the gathering. We love to hit Marietta, those roads down there just give me a woody. We need to hookup on some weekend rides, and I will let ya take the C14 out and see what ya think. I enjoyed our short conversation as well, next time we can hopefully chew the fat a bit more.
  9. LOL.....yeah I got turned around even with my GPS, I was so excited to get riding I went the wrong way!!!!!
  10. We have much better roads than the little sample you got, come on back down for some more fun!!!! Glad you made it down for the ride.

I had fun leading, and yeah I was restraining myself as much as I could for as long as I could. LOL

  12. You have to pee on them.
  13. Thanks, I am pretty fond of it. You are more than welcome to go with me sometime, matter of fact I encourage it. There will be absolutely no pushing it from me, just follow me and RELAX, don't gaze, don't space out, don't over think. The bike wants to go where you tell it to, relaxed body position and look where you want to go. Worst thing you can do is to look down at the road while in the curve, but looking on down the road to where you want to go is what you wanna do. Any braking needs to be done before the curve if you can avoid it, use those gears to scrub off some speed. Staying in a lower gear in the twisty bits and choosing the proper gear to use is ideal, engine braking is usually your friend. Don't be afraid to rev that bad boy, those SV's love to rev!!! I am still a bit sheepish and paranoid about going offroad again due to my shoulder injury last year, but I am also not quite physically ready or healed enough to do so. But I will none the less, much to the concern from my Wifey. I think 541 would be a great road for you to get some confidence back on, no real surprises on that road. Hit me up sometime, we can go out even if it is just for a bit, can always ride around Hoover and Alum Creek area to start out.
  14. Stay away from traffic and people, you need to get out in the country and hit those twisty roads. Riding in straight lines does little for you, and get out and ride in the rain some too. You have to get your confidence back, and to do that you must get a bit out of your comfort zone.
  15. You are over thinking the whole process, and you are being way too hard on yourself over nothing. You are going to be with allot of experienced riders that will only help you and take care of you while down there "or anywhere for that matter". You are missing out on a great time and a valuable learning experience, don't bail out due to a stupid reason.
  16. You should see how my buddy Glen can ride his 1800 Wing, he can ride way faster than I am comfortable with. He and his brother actually were passing bikes on the Dragon while they were pulling trailers behind them.
  17. Ah.....I see, and maybe he just needs a hug?

  18. No better advice can be given, you speak the truth. And all the roads down there are gonna test you and your bike, so both needs to be in tip top shape. Damn I wish I could make this trip, but I have already committed to another.
  19. I am not a schedule kind of guy, proof was the nice long break I gave everybody at a school parking lot "pretty sure they appreciated it". There were porta-pots and it gave a smoke break, snack break and an ass break for everybody. I also think it is important to allow everybody some time to mingle and get to know eachother off the bike. Expect the unexpected in group rides, you just only hope that the unexpected is a good thing. When I take long trips it is of the up most importance, that who I go with or who goes with me is very like minded and likes to wing it and roll with it as far as schedules go and places to go. I am in for the total experience on a trip, so I will stop when I need to stop and I will stop when I see something interesting to see or do. At my Laborday rally we typically have 3 groups of up to 10 heading out, now granted we usually run a different route per group, or stagger the leaving time by about 10 to 15 minutes on the same route. I will make a tentative timeline for when dinner will be, and groups are free to roll in before or after that. If the group wants to stop for lunch we will stop for lunch, otherwise snacks and fluids are a good thing to pack. Anyways.....with this large of a group I think we did pretty darn good all things considered, and we can learn from each gathering and make adjustments as needed or as experienced. Wish I could've hung out with everybody afterwards that camped, I am sure that was a good time.
  20. Nope it is not enough time Jack "trust me", math and calculations rarely work in group rides. Speeds are not consistent nor is traffic, plus any other obstacles or situations that may occur.
  21. Your guns are out of control but you just haven't realized it yet. They are made for killing, and nothing other than to kill......maybe your guns are magical?
  22. Space all groups a minimum of 10 minutes apart, with that many groups riding the same route you are bound to bunch up pretty quick if traffic is encountered or problems arise. And that did occur. Groups moving aside to let others by was awesome, that worked really well.
  23. You need to ride a newer 600cc supersport it seems.
