If I had an I4 or anything else with out vtec I would keep it about 6-7k rpm. But thats where the vtec comes in and as bad mentioned you dont want to hit that transition in the middle of a turn. So you keep it higher and deal with the vibrations or lower and not have as much power or as much smoothness.

Understood. I never usually go lower than 4th gear, I dont like the extra vibrations from vtec, maybe its different on your newer vfrs though. I also did the snorkel and flapper removal though and have a 2 brothers with no baffles so it might stem from that as well. Thinking im going to put the baffles back in for a change.

Fwiw I keep mine out of vtec and seemed to keep up ok.

I think saturday will work. But we are picking up an 05 zx6r for a friend and im not sure if we are getting it saturday or sunday so it kinda falls on that.

I dont know how much more aggressive Jerry and I would go. Seeing as that was my first time riding with you guys im sure I will get more comfortable and try to pick up the pace a bit when im ready.

I have just over 300 miles not including my last tank of gas which has 3 bars left. I was putting our fuel ups in fuelly. Unless I counted the first fill up by accident which is a possibility.

There were 4 of us. Stayed dry but I had to be home by 2 so I left early. I still was able to put around 450 miles on the bike though, im sure ninjadoc and rhill got some good footage.

I love my viffer, only downsides that I see are that the valve adjustment is expensive if you dont do it yourself and my biggest complaint is that it generates alot of wind noise... or atleast I think it does. Also it doesnt need to turn 6000rpm on the highway either.

wow, you are putting on the miles for sure. I think I have 25k on my VFR now, I bought it last year with 14k.

Heres something I heard that would help you ride faster. If you are turning left for example try to make that left elbow point straight out from the bike. That will pull your head behind the mirror, then just slide one cheek off the seat. Not sure about the validity of that statement though.
