What? Like a Swifter and some Pledge?

Yes on occasion. Because we ride. We don't park in the living room and say hey. 40 more days.

I can't speak for all of them. But Doc's 1200S Monster didn't. I damn near curbed that thing. Oh. It did work once he said. Only thing was he was rolling when it happened and never pushed the pedal.

He does not wear them. They reduce cornering clearance dramatically. He's a baller. -

Dan I'm heading for the Ozarks with Tim and company. Then off to Georgia to spend time with daughter. A trip like yours would be a gas for sure. Not gonna be on the Stromboli for this trip

It would not be nice to lie to her. I don't think that my dabbling can be called playing. It's something that I wish I could be proficient at but that's not gonna happen. I'm a cracker and have no rhythm. It's much worse than my ability to properly pilot a motorcycle.

Really? Dude were and how often does this go down? Da Blues. I'm in. I've been know to drink an occasional beverage as well.

Oh boy. Oil discussion. I'm with whaler on his feelings on t6. My Wing hates it. Clunky shifts after a thousand miles or so. I gave it a couple chances/changes and gave up. The Super Hawk is about the same but also drinks a little. As far as moly in mc oil Honda actually has one. It is not recommended for higher horsepower engines. Diesel oil is going to suffer just as auto oil has. They have taken some of the good stuff out of auto oil so as not to foul catalytic converters. So goes it for diesel oil. The one box on a Detroit diesel cost about 8k without all the sensors and particulate filters. Maintaining the pollution controls is becoming a major expense. So the oil manufacturers not only have to deal with proper lubrication properties but also not fouling up the pollution control system. It has become a whole new ball game. We still run engines over a million miles with only being opened up for valve adjustments. But when they go it is usually the bottom end that fails. With that said. Will diesel oil continue to be okay for use in motorcycles? Time will tell. The Achilles heel is the wet clutch and the transmission gears chopping the heck out of the strands the make up viscosity. If you truly want to know what is going on with your choice of oil. Get oil samples taken or go to Bobstheoilguy and go totally insane reading that stuff. Oil----None of is worth a shit if you don't change it.

You Tube it. I have put miles of this together. Proper tools are a plus as in the cutter. After you get the first fitting installed(generally left hand threads) put a drop of oil on the end of the other piece before you screw it in. After you have it assembled blow thru it to make sure it went together correctly. The stainless covering makes it more of a hassle but it is doable.

I remember seeing adds in the back of magazines for Draggin Jeans. Prolly before the interwebzzzz. I see they have lots of gear now. No personal experience. Just tossing it on the table. http://www.dragginjeans.com/

Hello from Ravenna... just south from the North Coast
Al Z. Heimer replied to Fin's topic in Introductions
Welcome. There are a few mileage junkies here. Day rides of 500 miles are not uncommon. Several of us did an Iron Butt to Mt. Rushmore. Some have an Ozarks trip planned to coincide with the yearly Gap get together. Check out the upcoming Epic Ride thread. Good chance to get your feet wet here. One thing you will see about most of us is that we slab as little as possible. We like crooked roads.- 16 replies
