Male Marines are not supposed to hold umbrellas unless directed by the Commandant - not the POTUS or any other officer/official - and they're especially not supposed to hold one in the right hand which is their saluting hand. They probably have a standing order to do so if asked by the POTUS but any Marine/Soldier/Sailor/Airman worth a shit never even thinks to use an umbrella - rain is just wet sunshine - but we can't expect pansy ass civilians to get it.

You might also want to consider looking at Telecommunications - especially on the wireless cellular side of the industry. There are lots of positions out there for Engineers, including entry level - just start searching the interwebs for more information.

I have Fieldsheer (mesh style) and Joe Rocket (bought from an OR member) for jackets, Fieldsheer for leather pants (worn twice) and A* for boots (rarely worn)....various gloves....thankfully none of them have been crash tested. The Fieldsheer is a great jacket and I've owned it for over a decade - still in great condition and fantastic on hot summer days.
