  1. I had an Arrow low on my Speed Triple and didn't like it. Too quiet and covered up the single sided swingarm look. Also, after I pulled it off to sell, I checked out the merge and it looked like shit on the inside. Huge burrs sticking out and blocking flow.
  2. I rode terribly. Feels like a wasted day since I didn't learn anything or get faster. I was killing it (for me) at the last trackday but this one felt like two steps back, I just couldn't get into it and focus for some reason. Oh well, there is still Oct 7th! Can't end the season on a sour note...
  3. Going to my first twilight tomorrow night at Mid-Ohio, 9/14. Anyone else going? I've only done one Intermediate session but I'm running 1:50-1:52 laptimes now so I figure I should be fine. Might be a little chilly at 66 though! Also, does anyone who rode the last Mid-Ohio twilight remember if a tall guy in black leathers wrecked a red/black 1998 Honda 900RR? I also got an invite to a free Mid-Ohio trackday on Oct 7th for riding more than four trackdays this year! Anyone been to one of these?
  4. Saiga 12ga with 20rnd drum mag? That's what I used for the one time I shot clays... the capacity really helped since it turns out I can't hit moving targets for shit.
  5. Hmmmm... I reckon I'll plug/patch it then. I was hoping to use the tires on the track bike after I wore out the center on the street, but I reckon I'll just chuck it after. Anyone know where I can get a good plug/patch kit from a place that would be open today?
  6. Had some Q3s installed on my Speed Triple about a month the ago and found a nail in the middle of the rear today. There are only 300 miles on the set, can I just have it plugged since its near the middle of the tire?
  7. I don't wave to Harley riders or riders not wearing gear. I don't like to encourage them... or maybe I'm just an asshole.
  8. Silly? Shoot, I had an 80mph (GPS'd) RXP and after a couple of laps around the lake I was bored. You will have fun on a stand up all day and still be wanting more. Still have to have something for the ladies/kids though. Like I said, top speed gets boring quick so go with reliable and efficient as a top priority for their ski.
  9. Are you mechanically inclined and don't mind working on your skis a lot? Are you comfortable pulling apart superchargers and engines? If not, go with Yamaha. I've had 13 skis over the past four years, including three 4-tecs. Like turbospec said, the 4-tecs will get you the most power for your money, but you will also spend quite a bit of time wrenching on them. Also, sit down skis get boring quickly. IMO, get a supercharged 3 seater Yamaha for the family, then a Yamaha Superjet stand-up for yourself.
  10. I'd be interested in two keyrings, one green, one pink.
  11. Holy crap that's awesome. Kind of wish I had bought my S3 new...
  12. Do they run Intermediate and Advanced at the same time or switch back and forth?
  13. How strict are they on the four I/A level track days in the past year to do a twilight? I've done four Novice days at Mid Ohio now...
  14. Weather turned out to be great! Had a little bit of an issue with all the rubber and a few potholes, but it was pretty easy to stay out of. There was only 13 novice riders and it seemed like at least half of them wrecked... people were crashing all over the place! They even had to lifeflight one guy out.
  15. Is there anything else running on Monday that might clear it off? I'm planning on going tomorrow depending on how the weather looks in the morning. Looking kind of sketchy for Tuesday with 30% chance of rain, Wednesday is looking worse with 50% chance right now.
  16. Or lower it? Put some decent rubber on it and take it to Mid Ohio!
  17. I've had people both ride in with me and ride in seperate to watch and they weren't charged...
  18. The only Triumph dealer around me that I know if is Thiels Wheels and after demanding $11900 for a 2011 Speed Triple, F-them. I really hate dealerships anyway and would much rather take it to an independant tuner. Only problem with the Tuneboy is that it is $500 for the tuning kit, whereas the TuneECU software is free and I already purchased a cable for $20. I will be loading a map that should be close (good dyno tune done with similar mods), so it shouldn't require significant modification.
  19. I'm thinking about having a custom tune on my 2011 Speed Triple done sometime. Does anyone around central Ohio use TuneECU and might be somewhat familar with the 1050 triple? I'm looking to have some driveability/fuel economy work done in addition to the dyno tune.
  20. I've done three track days so far, all of them at MO. You will have a blast and the instructors will keep it at a pace you are comfortable with. Just make sure you are FOCUSED, get off the track for a breather if you get distracted or tired. Plus, COOKIES.
  21. I have been watching some bumblebees do that in some scrap wood behind my garage the past few weeks. They drilled holes ~1/2" diameter several inches deep.
  22. Ah, for some reason I was thinking there were only 14...
  23. Actually, I could bring cash before Friday if youd like. I will be down in Cbus on Thursday night...
