  1. If it doesn't sell let me know, I'm looking for a donor ski for a Blaster swap.
  2. Odd, I had a fork seal on my newly purchased 2011 Speed Triple blow out in the bed of the truck while I was bringing it home. I ended up pulling the fork off and taking it to Cycletech in Bucyrus who did it for like $60. Maybe it's a Triumph thing...
  3. If you would have caught me a few days ago I would have been all over it... I'm good for now
  4. I was kind of in the same boat you are a few weeks ago. Started out on an 2004 R6, rode it for two years on the street, then wrecked it at my third track day. I didn't outgrow it by any means, but I did feel it was very lacking on the street as far as low/mid power and ergonomics. I decided to turn it into a track dedicated bike and pick up something more street-oriented. After much research, it seemed that a 2011 Triumph Speed Triple would be the best bike for me. I found one with 2500 miles and a full Arrow titanium exhaust for $8600 a few days ago. I've only gotten the chance to ride it a few times since due to work and rain, but it is completely different from my R6. Very torquey and comfortable. The styling is very polarizing, but it looks better in person than in pictures and I like it more every time I see it. Just another option to consider...
  5. I'm picking them up tomorrow, thanks again!
  6. Sweet! I'm going to hit him up right now. Are they fiberglass? I do need them for the 04 R6...
  7. I'd like to get a set of the Hotbodies race fairings with the 2 for 1 deal, but only need one set. Anyone need a set and want to go in half? It's like $350 for a quality set of race fairings...
  8. First and foremost I'm looking to buy a set of race fairings that will fit a 2004 R6. Any condition, any color, I can fix and repaint as needed. Also looking for a white flyscreen and steering damper for a 2011+ Triumph Speed Triple.
  9. Yea, thats what I'm thinking. It just sucks not having a bike to ride while I'm waiting on parts! Anyone have a cheap set of race fairings that will fit a 2004 R6? I'm working on trying to find a Speed Triple or Super Duke for street duty...
  10. Hmmm... What about a 2007+ KTM Super Duke?
  11. I'm looking to buy a Speed Triple, preferably a 2011, but will consider 2008-2010 bikes as well. Let me know what you've got or if you know of one for sale somewhere.
  12. Well I wrecked on Saturday. First motorcycle wreck ever! Stooooopid mistake. I ended up running in the fastest group in Novice with a coworker who used to do a lot of track days about 10 years ago. The pace was by far the fastest I've ever ridden and at first it was a bit beyond my skill level but I got comfortable with it after the first session or two and was having a blast by lunch time. From the pictures it looks like my body position is much better and I really improved my lines through some of my problem corners. First time I was able to get my knees down in every corner (except through the first part of the chicane)! The session after lunch is where it all went wrong. We were doing the "leap frog" excercise when we got all out of order due to some older first timers putting around the track and a thunderstorm was just about to hit us. I was distracted and kinda blew T9, then went wide going into T10. Clipped the grass, then target fixated horribly and went right across the track and into the gravel pit. I thought I almost saved it, but the bike dug into the gravel too much and down I went. I think I went over the bars. My helmet is a bit scuffed up, I have a small tear in my suit, and my right hip is bruised, but other than that it wasn't bad. The easiest corner on the track and I managed to dick it up lol. It was still my best track day ever... Debating what to do with my bike though, it needs about $300 in parts to fix it if I just get the whole front cowl assembly off ebay. I really want a track bike and a street bike though. Should I fix the R6 (2004, 18k miles), sell it for around $3500-4000 maybe, then buy an already built track bike or just buy some race fairings and call it a day?
  13. Anybody? I just signed up and paid for the 22nd. I can give ya a few bucks or maybe talk my GF into giving a quick HJ in the port-a-john.
  14. I've never won anything, but I'm going to win this dammit!
  15. Anyone going this weekend? Right now I'm planning on running on Saturday the 22nd, but mayyyybe Friday the 21st too. Would anyone be willing to take a look at my suspension settings? I'll be on a white/black R6 sitting by a red Tundra...
  16. I only use the clutch on my '04 R6 for starting from a stop or when I'm not quickly accelerating/deccelerating. Any other time it will easily upshift by preloading the shifter a bit then easing the throttle for a split second. For downshifts I either maintain the throttle position or blip it depending on the situation. I would say my clutchless shifts are at least 2-3x faster than when I use the clutch. I haven't broken anything yet...
  17. I've got a set of Contisport Attacks on my R6 right now that I have used on the street for around 4-5000 miles (put it on last summer) and two Novice trackdays. They have plenty of rubber on the sides and haven't hit the wear bar in the middle yet. When would it be a good idea to replace the rear? I'm planning on doing another track day at Mid-O on the 22nd. I'm not sure how many heat cycles these can handle before traction begins to degrade...
  18. Have any Frontiers or Tacomas? Sorry to threadjack...
  19. Any idea of the pay range? I'm currently an MFG at Whirlpool in stamping/fab...
  20. I was there too on Monday riding in Novice. It was my 2nd track day and the first of this year. There was an older guy on a Harley who went down the first session of the day then packed up and left. I broke into the 1:50s by the end of the day and got both knees down so I was damn happy! Can't wait to go back on the 21st or 22nd. How many Novice days does it typically take before getting bumped up to Intermediate? Putting around for the first four sessions of Novice kind of sucks. I have a 2004 R6 that is serving dual purpose right now but it's my only bike; anyone have a cheap beater 600cc track bike for sale?
  21. I had 530whp in my 2500lb 2nd gen RX7 and it was fun, whupped all kinds of ass, and still hooked up fairly well as long as the tires/street were warm. Still could've used another 100hp though...
  22. http://www.amazon.com/Cyclus-Pangolin-Backpack-reused-lining/dp/B006563RRQ This bag is none of those things, but damn does it look cool!
  23. The Evo X is a great DD in my opinion and handles damn well (coming from a Miata) but be forewarned it may not be the best when it comes to reliability. I picked my 2008 GSR up in 2010 and had to replace a stretched timing chain and rebuild the S-AWC pump at 40k miles this year. They may have addressed these issues on the newer models as the new timing chain had a slightly different design and there is a reflash to disable the S-AWC in cold temperatures. I'm sure all three cars have their own issues though...
  24. Sweet, I've been trying to get ahold of Airborne so I can just drive to Dayton and pick one up but they won't answer their phone. It's really a bike for the GF, so I'm going to get a 16", but I think I should still be able to ride it if my Fuel breaks. After riding a new Fuel Ex 29er at a demo day it's really hard to get back on my 26, so maybe I'll end up riding it more than she will. I'm pretty sure we will be up sometime this weekend, likely on Sunday from the sound of it.
