  1. Lowcel, I think I definitely jinxed myself when I said "nope, no problems with the front end at all"
  2. I definitely felt some chatter right before the front end went out. What causes this and what can I do to correct it?
  3. Took a look at the vid of my lowside, I was kind of riding like shit but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Sounds like the revs stumble right before I go down, maybe I accidently chopped it? The camera is mounted on a bit of an angle on the bike, so the left hand turns look like a more extreme angle than they are. Also found out that the motor is hydrolocked from oil. I guess it filled up the intake box when it was laying there upside down and then drained down into the motor when I flipped it back over. Hopefully the starter doesn't have enough ass to bend a rod. I'm pulling the plugs to clean it out...
  4. The bike got pretty messed up for a 45mph lowside IMO. Radiator, exhaust, clip on, windscreen, rear set, and brake lever are toast. Ordering replacement parts today though! Those pictures turned out great too, would you happen to have any more?
  5. Well today kinda sucked for me. I came really close to getting taken out by two riders colliding right next to me at the end of the back straight in the first session right as I was about to turn in. Luckily I looked over to see the two bikes and riders coming bouncing by and was able to keep braking until I could avoid them. Then at the end of the third session I lost the front end midway through the carousel. Not sure what happened as I don't remember doing anything out of the ordinary, but I checked out where I hit and it was right in the middle of the indy car rubber patch. I'm going to just blame it on that. It really sucks that the bike was too damaged to get back on the track as the weather was turning out perfect. I'll likely have it fixed for the twilight on Aug 24th.
  6. Tuesday is looking sketchy, think I'm going to hold out for Wednesday.
  7. No sailboat but I've got a stand-up jetski. You could ride spider.
  8. Hmmm, thats odd. I guess I'll probably just wait until Monday to make that decision then. Probably walk on in "I". I do remember running last year the day after Indy cars came through. Lots of rubber chunks built up on the track and some craters where they ripped up the asphalt. Made for a bumpy ride in spots, but I think the traction was still pretty good. I do remember dodging flying rubber chunks though.
  9. I'm planning on going one of the two days weather permitting. Whichever day the weather looks best, at the moment it looks like Wednesday. Really hoping my new rearsets arrive in time!
  10. +2 I read a whole bunch of articles about performance riding and watched twist of the wrist a few times before my first track day. Turned out I was rubbish... Doubt I broke a 2:00 lap time at Mid-O. Nine track days later and zero books/vids, I've shaved about 15 seconds off my lap times. I still suck, but now I suck a little less...
  11. Those are some sweet vids! I'm definitely rotating my foot outward when I'm leaning off of the bike, I think I'll throw the Gopro under my tail like that during the next track day and see if I can't keep it tucked in more like that.
  12. I said F it and ordered some cheapo Danmoto rearsets. The pegs look a little iffy, but I'll just remachine them for a little more grip...
  13. That's hauling ass! Crazy to think that AMA pro guys are shaving another TEN SECONDS off of that. What are some of the slower lap times in Advanced group? I'm assuming you need to be running low 1:40s on average to bump up?
  14. Okay, I'll try to move my feet back more. Although, I did just check my boots and the indentation is pretty much right in the middle of the alpine star logo.
  15. The ball of my foot is on the outer edge of the footpeg... I think. That's where it feels like it is anyways. Any further back and it feels like it would off the ball and more on my toes.
  16. Oops, could this be moved to the "parts" section?
  17. At the last trackday at Mid-O on the 21st I was having a lot of issues dragging my right toe through the carousel and keyhole. Actually burned through my toe slider (plastic) and a bit into the edge of my boot. I was making a conscious effort to keep my foot as far back as possible. Usually when a toe drags it's just because I was being lazy and pulling it back onto the ball fixes the issue. The peg itself is not touching down. Is this just a result of bad form or should I bite the bullet and get adjustable rearsets (currently on stock 2004 R6)? I do like to use the end of the footpeg to pivot around and I'm not sure how to get away from doing it.
  18. I'm wearing through my toesliders on a few corners at Mid-O with my stock pegs, so I figure it's time for some aftermarket adjustable rearsets. Anyone have a set of used ones for sale? Has anyone had any experience with the cheapo Ebay sets? I just need a cheap set for my old R6, nothing fancy.
  19. If you want to go cheap I picked up Qstarz BTQ818XT 10Mhz for like $90. I'm using it with my S5 and it works friggen awesome. I got a cheap hard plastic case for the phone and velcro'd both of them to my bike. I'm using RaceChrono for the timing/datalogging. Seems to be very accurate in 10Mhz mode and gives you tons of info.
  20. Great day out there today! I went into it feeling like shit with a bad sinus infection but the weather was just too damn nice to cancel. Started the day off running 1:50-1:51, and was down in the 1:46-1:47s by the end of the day. Set a personal best of 1:45.68! I also had my suspension dialed in so that might have help things. Needless to say, I was definitely happy the progress.
  21. Just a few more days! I'm picking up a new phone tonight just so I can use my damn high frequency GPS receiver for lap times. I made them install RaceChrono on one at the store to make sure it would sync up properly...
  22. 5000 sq ft?! Jebus! How much? Most of them don't like to gamble. The renter ended up giving us a much smaller place for the first night for free. It's going to be a pain in the ass, but less so than going to small claims court.
  23. Derp. Reread it, it was clear in the original post...
