Anyone planning a WNF ride in the near future?
M_Quick replied to 1fasttc's topic in Play in the Dirt
Lots of stuff kicking this summer, but when the next big ride? -
Wow and they OP i read said not to expect much till after the 1st 2 full tanks. Keep up posted!

Yea but no, at 6" it's hard enough not to rub the front fascia. In fact it has some rub marks on it from previous owner. And it handles well enough the way it is for sitting in the garage most of the time, lol.

I check my video and I have video riding like 1/4 of the way out of this trail onto the main corridor to Monday creek. So this should help spot the turn off maybe....? Sucks, I hope it's something simple like the bolt washer.

It is not a easy trail, and I would suggest not trying it with the 400EX. Although I didn't get stuck, I missed one power slide up hill run and had to make a new trail. And one of the riders did have a Suzuki 400 but he got hung up more times than i can count. The one guy on a 2 wheeler was having the roughest time, in fact for awhile he had his bubby ride it, and he took the sport quad. This cave was not far from the Monday creek trail head, I'm sure we can find it but it was a adventure. If it weren't for all the rain this trail probably wouldn't of been to bad. And there was a lot of spots were tree's fell and blocked trail, so you'd have to go down the bank and back up and around! A 4 wheel drive would of came in handy.

I seen you posted you were planing on leaving early Sunday, and Jaronstoy never replied. So we just parked there and tore up Dorr run for the most part of the day. We started with 1985 loop, and then took a long round about way to the water fall. Steve tried really hard to get stuck twice, but got out both times. So after a quick shower at the falls we went back to P3 for lunch and to top of fuel. And hooked up with 2 riders from Pig town and other from Newark, They took us on one hell of a back trail, and while there ran into a group of 3-4 more guys lost, lol. This trail had a old cave entrance on it, that the State blocked off with steal. You could still see inside it, and down low you could feel COLD ass air blowing. It was like a 20-25 degree difference in temp! I marked spot on my GPS, but didn't trace the trail.

Was a good ride, only a few mishaps but nothing to big! And the mudslinging donut contest was awesome as a spectator!
-
Anyone else going with you? Steve and I are going Sunday, thinking about parking at P3. Riding around the falls, then maybe up north some to main corridor. Looks like rain is staying north of trails today so far, but I could be wrong. It's been pouring here, and now there calling for rain there Sunday as well, errr...

Yea from what i can tell, it just means mine is pre-wired for the brake controller.

Nice link, but like you said, long ass thread. Can you clue us in with a short version of what oil your using, If you add it like he said 1oz per 5 gals and if you do this always? Seen the cheap Super Tech TC-W3 Outboard 2-Cycle Oil at Wal*mart for $12.15 a gallon!

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=21375&id=21519 There not going to get any better mileage.

Ethanol at the Pump? Ethanol is usually blended with gasoline to produce different levels of ethanol fuel. E10 is a mixture of 10% ethanol and 90% regular gasoline. This produces a fuel with an 89 octane rating. E10 can be used in all regular gas fueled cars and trucks. By using E10, you can reduce the CO2 emission levels by 3 to 6% and reduce the use of fossil fuel petroleum. Yes, using E10 will make a difference! E85 contains a higher percent of ethanol than E10. It is a combination of 85% ethanol and 15% regular gasoline. This renewable alternative fuel has a 105 octane rating which is higher than the 93 octane of supreme grade fuel. Since E85 has a higher ethanol content, it can only be used in specific vehicles. These vehicles are called Flex Fuel Vehicles or FFV’s. These vehicles can fuel up with regular gasoline, E85 and even mix together between fuel ups. All three of the major auto manufacturers produce FFV’s. By the end of 2006, there will be more than 6 million of these vehicles on the road. Production of these vehicles began in 1998. So don’t think it is just the latest cars on the market. Refer to the FFV section on our Home Page for more information on FFV’s. Click on www.e85fuel.com for an updated list of FFV’s that have been produced since 1998. Why should I use ethanol fuel? Ethanol fuel is renewable and burns cleaner than gasoline. Ethanol fuel emits less harmful emissions such as carbon monoxide. Additional farmland use would help US farmers and the economy. Very little petroleum is used in ethanol production reducing our dependency on foreign oil. E85 typically costs less at the pump than regular unleaded gasoline.

Eww shit, I was under the imprecision my Suburban had a controller too, since it had a tow package and 7 pin connector. I think the cheap ass battery that came with my trailer is junk. I put it on charge last night, and it still isn't looking good! So after I figure out the lights I guess I need a controller, and a battery.
-
Yes it's new, and the battery is there in case the trailer breaks away from tow vehicle. There's a steel cable you attach to the truck and if they separate it breaks the cable and apply s the brakes. Since brakes are electric that's where the battery comes in. Some trailer brakes are ran off a surge system w/out a battery. Do you have a trailer brake controller inside your truck? My old truck had one, and you could apply the trailer breaks inside the truck w/out touching the break pedal.
-
Is your Tahoe flex fuel? The thing about the subs is they cruise at 70 and only are taching around 1700 rpms. So idt it's the gearing.
-
I talked with my Uncle and his buddy about this. And from there experience we should be getting better mileage. Then my Uncle remembered a flex fuel Chevy truck he had, and said it was the same way and that's why he sold it right away.

No rust on ball it is new like the trailer. And the blue and white wire run right to the trailer battery. Old trailer I purchased at Rocks, the guy there grease the ball. I was never sure why but knew it made a mess when you rubbed against it. This trailer is a 2 5/16" ball, you can fell it clunk when you take off but it seams tight?
-
I plan on going Sunday still! How long are you staying?
-
Okay so after about the 1st time using this trailer I lost turn signals and brake lights to both sides I had running lights only. I checked all the fuses on the tow vehicle, they are fine. So I'm told by several to check the ground! I finally get around to looking at it, btw I'm no electrician lol. Looks like the white wire runs out of the harness and right to the break away trailer brake battery? I test battery it's dead as can be! So this is most likely my lost ground right? I'm no sure what to do, 1st I know charge battery see if it holds, if not replace. Should I splice wire and run a separate ground to trailer frame? Any help would be appreciated....

Yea I know, but there still sticking to rain sat.
-
Looks like rain Saturday, so I'm leaning towards Sunday if I can make it.

4th of July weekend 2013: I found a spot where the creek wore a cavern like area out of the mountain side, pretty cool spot. Then I had to lead the locals down there to see it.
