My cam/full exhaust C5Z regularly did 30-32 mpg on the highway at 70-75 mph. I shouldn't have sold that car. Fml

I've heard the Malibus (maybe like 2005ish?) get really good gas mileage for what they are. Not what my first choice would be, but it'd keep you in the GM family and I would say you could get one a lot cheaper than a comparable Accord or Camry.

Compression checks are a big thing when looking into a used Subaru. I've toyed with the thought of getting an '04-07 STi before but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I really dig that wagon, if I had disposable money I'd do a full STi conversion on a wagon.

I think that's a really fair price for a clean 10 second car. +5 points for being something out of the norm -5 points for being fwd

They have dropped quite a bit in price, plus the miles are fairly high. It does look like a really clean car though and I think it's a great price. I've had a couple of them and typically averaged low 20s mixed driving. Obviously it depends heavily on the driving with a turbo car. OP, do you know any of the maintenance history? Mainly the headgasket, timing belt, water pump, etc.

Your mistake was thinking that a CR member wouldn't sell the item to whoever brought them the money first, in this case a close friend who ranks higher than an account on CR.

Yes, people change their mind all the time, but the guy should have let Tilly know about it and gave him time to still sell them before the tournament. Tilly held them and passed up other opportunities to sell them because this clown told him he wanted them, then bailed and stuck him with them. I've been burned by a well known member on here also, but I got the car sold anyway and it wasn't a time sensitive situation over a 1 time use item. First with the money gets the item, you can't do business any other way these days.
