  1. Need some help figuring out this problem: Seemingly cleared up right at the end of the video, but on the final turn on the front straight, the bike feel back on it's head as I pitted in. Only things done since the previous track day where the bike ran fine; changed oil and swapped out steering damper. Disconnected Power Commander and quickshifter. Fuel flow from the tank seems fine (primed the pump into a bottle). Exhaust temp across cylinders seems even via IR gun and wet rag test. Charging system is disconnected to isolate another issue. Upon the last test 2 minutes ago, the bike was a bitch to get fired up and idling, but after it heated up a little and a restart; the throttle response seemed close to normal.
  2. Well bad news...hard to give a review when you barely get to ride the track. Got in 2 intermediate sessions to learn the track; bumped to A and the bike decided to start throwing fits. Rode the 3 & 4 sessions, but the 5th was a 1 lap session coming right back in. Earlier, as the bike heated up it seemed to smooth out (or the missing was harder to notice at higher RPM on track), but the issue was still very apparent. I'm very impressed with the track. They said advance pace starts at a 1:38 and all I managed was a 1:41,but was right with a few other A riders. It's a 2nd and 3rd gear track on my 750; get through most of 5th on the uptown front straight. Wheelie hill is fun; clicking 3rd while fully leaned over, hitting a crest and applying just enough throttle to catch the front as it heads back to the ground. It is a blind crest that you could probably jump if you lined it up just right and had enough entrance speed. Lines are critical at NYST, make a mistake on one corner and 90% of the time it interacts with the next. There are a few bumps in kinda weird locations (2nd apex of T3) Overall, I'll be going back, but I liked the challenge.....was just frustrated by the bike.
  3. Sent you a pm abt the certs. I believe Mark Junge does tires for the full days, but I'm not sure about twilights. No weekend for bikes because track time is in demand at mid-o and bikes get the leftovers lol Mid o is big enough, if traffic is a problem roll through the pit and it is very unlikely you will see that traffic again that session. Even in advance you need to do that sometmes. Talk to a CR abt a bump if you continually run up on people.
  4. That T9? Downhill entrance right, just before the Honda bridge? Some reason that turn is a real impact zone, know of 2 prior collisions that happened in the corner(if that's where it was) Hope everyone is alright!
  5. just saw this yesterday and now Brian bumps it.....you still looking for tires? I am going to be in the need of a couple fronts to match up with rears I already have.
  6. Will do! Need to get the bike ready, because I just signed up.
  7. yep, total travel time. 6.5 hrs one way from West Cleveland.
  8. Not 100% set on going yet, but 13.5 hrs driving to NY sounds a lot better than 21 to Atlanta. Mid 70's sounds a lot better than mid 90's too. https://weather.com/weather/5day/l/12093:4:US
  9. Weather turned out perfect, if anything it was a little too hot. Tons of open track. I was a bit concerned with the combining of intermediate and advanced group; however, the weekday turnout was light enough so that it wasn't an issue. A sold out day would be a different story, IMHO. Got to test out a hypermotard and Jeff's SV. The hyper was comfortable and great fun, I was getting in a full tuck with left hand off the bars on the straights. Throw some bags on it and I could see it being a great touring bike with the ability to wick it up a little in the twisties. The SV was just a blast, the top speed isn't there like my 600 or 750, but I was immediately comfortable on it and started to pick it up in the turns to maintain momentum.
  10. https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/for/5649377857.html damnit, I keep trying to link a photo, but it disappears. Anyway it is a 4x8x4' enclosed harbor freight trailer.
  11. about that...any interest in a 600? because that SV was fun!
  12. Now I'm going to have take you up on that....although, I did ride your 750 and then bought one....tested Brandon's 675 and want one.....maybe I shouldn't lol
  13. I've heard good things about Gingerman, even more so with the repave. Only thing I see going on that weekend is a Mid-O twilight followed by normal Mid-O days mon-wednesday. Have to see how things play out as the date approaches.
  14. Sweet! Looking forward to hitting 1-4 combo again, even though the full track is awesome. You should let me take that 650 for a few laps and you can take the 750 out.
  15. Thanks, I got to watch a bit of ORML event, those bikes look like so much fun. Wanted to come down and BS and check stuff out, but the whole weekend was busy helping with an engine swap and the heat was exhausting.

  17. Little late to start the thread seeing that the weekend is over, but figured I'd throw it up for some videos. I just have the one for the moment, but there will be more coming. I'll link mine here, but some more will likely be going up HERE!
  18. Saw your earlier video, think it was 11am session. Looked like you had a pretty hard pass put on you at the end of the session, just after the crest following the Honda bridge. Think the rider was waving to apologize after. That's a decent spot to pass, but if it's not done before the transition to the right, it's ugly.
  19. Should try and make it down for vintage days before too....have this odd feeling there will be a decent amount of the MotoSeries crew there
  20. Agreed! I need to figure out your secret for T1; 4:35 in that second video is ridiculous. I might have been a little slow on entrance that time, but much hotter and I start to run wide early and completely ruin drive up the hill. Spotted that muffler you were pointing out, it was literally a 6" gap between the mid pipe and can.....you can even see it in the video!
  21. wooohooo got the internet back at my place! Sloppy edits, sucks when you realize you made a bunch of mistakes after a video is encoding for 2 hrs. Second video has the audio track from my bike for the first 3/4 then Andrew's for the last quarter. First one the ass-camera moves around because I forgot it was a couple clips stitched together. Brake reservoir was "repaired" before the next session.
  22. Know where you are coming from with this, twice I've been transporting with my open trailer in terrible conditions with tons of salt buildup after the snow melted off. The removable top is an interesting idea, but I think you would lose a lot of the structure and have to come up with some good securing methods to make up for it. Ratchet strap around could work but that just seems like a lot of work for what it is(whole project is as well, but the ratchet straps are a continuous use thing). Just to throw out a slightly different idea, what if the front half of the roof was permanently mounted, while the rear half was removable? Give you more structure on the front and sides, while still giving you better access inside. You could probably get away with U channel on both sides acting as guides for the removable section of the roof. Add a single strap to maintain the distance between the walls so the roof couldn't fall or be sucked out. Depending on the wood thickness you go with, may have to add ribs for rigidity. Think the disassemble requirement will make this a very difficult project. Similar to the saying "cheap, fast, high quality....you can only have 2", you are looking for strong, light and modular. I just went with a $30 tent takes about 10 minutes to set up on a bad day. Only drawback, it takes up space in the car.
  23. Seems like everyone who was planning on backing off and riding easy sessions ended wicking it up and turning personal bests. You two were moving along real well! Had to be feeling the wind drag on the back straight lol
  24. Messed around with a little video last night, but don't have internet for the moment, so uploads are going to have to wait a few days. Might have to go through and put together a highlight reel or something....should have a few clips of elbows dragging through T1 and madness. That last session was stupid fun....glad I got a 1:37 out of the way so I could "take it easy". From the video, I'm pretty sure we were both on a good 37-38 pace the last two laps.
  25. https://youtu.be/ouxSHt8lmD4 Looking forward to more tomorrow!
