  1. Had a magnetic one. Picked up a nice sized metal shaving from the garage, it didn't do too much damage, but I caught it quick and my bike was far from pristine. If I had a mint bike, I don't think I'd be able to use one after my experience. With a bike that I have to ride, I'd probably risk it for the convenience factor. water bladder in a mylar freezer bag(fill half full and freeze the night before, fill with water & place in freezer bag = 10 hrs of cold water....buy drinks, but sip from the bladder), snacks, phone & charger hooked to 12v, map, some basic tools, you can fit a lot in one of those bags. Just popped in my head, the should make little metal "covers" for the magnets when not in use. Would prevent most stuff sticking and would also force the rider to inspect before installing, which would prevent a lot of the issue.
  2. Wasn't trying to make a big fuss, just reiterating concerns I heard when discussing the requirement to jump back into advanced.....I've done enough days that it is irrelevant to me Ron, look at those chicken strips, you are using all your lean angle! (this is never going to die, is it?)
  3. I'd expect the rider limit on track to remain the same....it is just subdivisions of the intermediate group. That prerequisite # of days might catch the one stray fish that bumped to A to get on track (who would still be caught if A group is observed), but it is going to frustrate a lot more A riders who don't have the time or funds to attend 4+ days. It will push more potentially fast riders from A into I group increasing speed differential until they can be bumped back up to A. # of days attended is not related to pace or consistency....unless it is your very first day at the track, which should begin in I or towed in A IMHO.
  4. I'd prefer to sign up for I for the first few sessions at a new track. Everyone always preaches that consistency is key for advancing to A group and I agree 100%. The thing is, when learning a new track, you are not going to be consistent or even on line for the first couple sessions. With that being said, N2's structured program doesn't account for the "new track learning curve", so you are "stuck" in A group. After starting in A group at a couple new tracks, it is not as bad as I expected.....just hope I wasn't pissing people off trying to figure out the track in advanced group.
  5. so ready for this....2 months, get your shit in gear and ready to roll!

dunno what you are taking about....I just take the engine out and replace it whole....that's my concept of engine work 750 ftw
  7. All that matters.....more of this.....except a couple seconds faster this year....
  8. Simple enough: Advanced group - Requires evaluation or expert race license Intermediate group - Intermediate A - Twilight eligible* Intermediate B - Not Twilight eligible Novice group - Unchanged *Supermotards in intermediate are not eligible for twilight No half days

    2016 season

*New year, clean slate. The only thing that matters about last year's lap times is that they are lower this year. Speaking of last year, didn't you say the same thing about hangovers last year....right before Road Atlanta? Looking forward this track year....and getting a little dirty too
  11. IN! Can't wait to open the 750 up on the back straight.

7:20 and 9:00 are the highlights of that one....wish I knew Brad was back there, wouldn't have been cruising for the pits. I'll just have to get the dirt bike out and show you what embarrassment really looks like

An hour team endurance? That's like a team sprint, not really an endurance race for the rider, only the bike. Really enjoyed the 40 minute, hoping they have something similar or a team endurance that would have a similar segment.

    2016 season

I'll probably price out racing at Mid-O or PIRC full course.....realize how many track days it costs...then back out. In any case, those are the two tracks I'd really be interested in racing. The 750 would make choosing classes interesting, but I could put a 600 together.

    fuck winter

You see that there is now a Summit Main AND VIR North on 4/6 now? be up for 3 day weekend? Summit is also running on Sunday, so it could be a potential alternative to RA. Jennings is a fun track, and I'd like to go back, but the thought of double-triple tire wear kind of kills the urge.
  22. Just putting out my perspective....interested to see what the season entails
  23. 4 groups means 7 more times throughout the day when the track is shut down between sessions......not a fan. On a normal track day that isn't sold out, I think it makes even less sense. If the sessions are shortened to fit the 4th group, there better be a lower limit to riders on track. Shorter sessions means all the riders of a group are forced to be on track at the same time = more traffic if the group # remains the same. Not a fan of extending the day to keep the session time constant, but it would be better than short sessions. Bumped down to I last year for the trackdays around the AMA weekend, had no problem tuning 1:40 flats during sold out days.....don't think there is really a "problem".

Have to pass on the Herrin's trip. Have seen a couple videos from his track it looks like amazing fun. I'd also like to try the little bikes, but I'd think that trip would be a little much for the first time. Nah, drive a beat Saturn family car.
