  1. I want to hit the track pipe.....that is all
  2. last couple Barber is an amazing track.....videos don't come close to doing it justice. If you ever have the chance, plan to spend full day at the museum in addition to a couple at the track. I didn't have nearly enough time at either and look forward to going back.
  3. Wow, completely slipped my mind to post up the videos....few from the early sessions to catch shots of other riders, and a few from the later sessions where I was getting up to pace and traffic died down:
  4. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME!!!!! So much want, but I need to buy my nephews gifts for Christmas.
  5. hope preaching "you need this" isn't the way I came off, you can do your first trackdays/learn the ropes on anything. Slower bikes actually provide motivation & vindication when you can push past the more modern/higher displacement bikes. The feeling is absolutely sweet BTW. At the same time, the bike has it's limits that cannot be surpassed, someone on a more modern bike with the same skillset will murder you on track, and it will begin to frustrate you....there is no denying it. As I said before......
  6. I'm running on the assumption that it hasn't changed from years past. Gift certs could be used the day of with no late fee. They were also good for 2 years.
  7. For a 1st track day...I agree 100%, don't blow you wad doing all kinds of shit just to find out you don't enjoy the track as much as first thought. On the other hand idk what it is about the OP "getting into track riding" that sounds like it is more than planned 1 day thing??? If you are thinking about more than 1 day, look beyond the first couple days.....are the tire worth the price of admission? 4x the price of those tires....thats what I paid for my first track only bike.....did it have a bunch of trick bits on it? hell no, it was a budget bike already prepped that I didn't have to give a shit about. That is the same price of the gsxr I was talking about before BTW. Either way, post up when/where you are getting out to the track, hope to see you there!
  8. what all are you doing prepping the bike? I have no knowledge of 16" wheels, but I'd say if your going to be spending money I'd really consider putting it toward something a little more modern. Know of an 04/05 gsxr for sale pretty damn cheap
  9. Guess so, I'm just the messenger
  10. HF trailer is the way to go, just took mine to Birmingham and back. I mounted the hitch on my Saturn, was pretty damn simple. Drill 4 holes and bolt it up like the picture says. If the trailer is beat up, pick up a new one. Need help assembling it or mounting the hitch? Shoot me a PM and I'll lend a hand. 11. ^ walk up works too, only concern would be if the day is already filled to capacity. Think I did walk up registration every time this year
  12. yep, when you pick out the day you want to attend as you go through checkout there will be a spot for that number to be entered and the checkout price will drop to 0. Other option is to call in and register, which you will just tell them the number. Works smooth like butter
  13. Well, guess the whole camera comment jinxed me. First dropped the gopro in the pits and put a little scratch in the lens, then the damn top retainer broke and the case opened up on track dropping the camera somewhere between t12 and t14. They were nice enough to allow me to go look for it, but all I could find was the back cover. Switched to the older camera for the last half of the second day, but the video I did get is shaky as fuck....disappointing. Going to upload one or two anyway, links will come later.

  16. charging up the cameras so everyone can live vicariously through some video leaving tonight or at like 3 am tomorrow to get some time at the museum & to set up before getting on track saturday and sunday hope everyone is having a great thanksgiving!
  17. Easy way to hold the rim is a piece of all thread, couple washers, couple nuts, 3 small pieces of 2x4, and a hole in a flat surface the size of the wheel. Use the 2x4 as spacers to support the wheel, use threaded rod to cinch the wheel down, then take a tie-down strap and wrap it around one of the wheel spokes to keep it from spinning. I added a piece of 6x6"x1/2" nylon to act as a big fender washer for the wheel. I drilled a hole through my trailer deck and mounted a couple pieces of angle iron to the side of my trailer to emulate the HF bead breaker on the stand....I can change tires at the track if I bring the mount/demount bar, few small pieces of 2x4, tire lube, balancer and wheel weights. BTW, if you buy or have the HF balancer, check that the balancing bar is straight. I'd put money on it being crooked; mine was.
  18. google search (their page seems to be down) the mojolever and check out http://www.no-scufftiretool.com/ add the HF stand to use as a glorified beadbreaker and figure out a way to secure the wheel....done If I had $500 to blow, I'd consider the NoMar. I've used one and it works awesome, even the very first timer(for someone who has changed a lot of tires) it was a breeze. Best all in one solution, period (besides paying someone else) The only downfall is the room it takes up in my car....I've integrated my tire changer into my trailer at this point to save space. Do not use the HF MC attachment and expect to have pretty wheels! after the first use they will be scratched to hell withouth special precaution. Both the stand and tool/rod will cause all sorts of damaged to the finish. The HF stand is an ATV tire changer....and for that it is perfect.
  19. Wish I could, but the upcoming trip to Barber is going to be my last of the year....not enough vacation time unfortunately.
  20. Next up (especially if you say the last line out loud)....she is going to be uncomfortable with the bike in general. Should be as simple as saying you love the track and take the necessary safety precautions.
  21. and if you send them out now....they will be done WELL in advance of Thanksgiving. Sounds like a perfect plan, suspension refresh to hit Barber!
  22. Thanks, I'll be putting around learning the place at first, but I'll heed the warning and pay special attention through there.
  23. ^ lol had me cracking up This....mo dot mo problems in my case
