  1. you riding Jinu's bike again?
  2. that the plan for the motorcycles too?
  3. And @blue03636....you can drink and be the flagger or something, but you're not getting in a kart.
  4. ask and you shall receive:
  5. Best technical drawing ever I'll be there, most likely with a beer in hand all weekend...no riding for me, unless someone wants to get some karting action in.
  6. got to admit, that comment had me Knew he was going to have trouble with the two upcoming riders. Figured I'd jet out, pit and rejoin when they came back past....hoping he might have worked past one. Rolled out when they came past and was confused when Tim wasn't part of the group. He did the smart thing, rolled through the pit instead of forcing a pass. His riding is pretty damn good, but that was even more impressive. One rider by themselves is fairly predictable, two or more in a group at similar pace can be chaos.
  7. Throwing this out there to see if anyone is interested......Midwest Track Days is running Putnam October 1st and 2nd AND the Red Bull Air Races are going to be at Indianapolis (45 minutes away). I'm thinking of driving down and doing one day at each, but it is still up in the air as to the sequence, or if it will even happen.
  8. Believe today closed up my Mid-O season, all that is left is a Twilight October 2nd and that conflicts with the Red Bull air races that I'm thinking of going to. Days may be getting shorter, but we ran 4 full sessions + one mixed intermediate advance session at the very end. Track started slick and got better each session, turned my fastest laps as it was getting dark(tinted visor wasn't helping) even with shade completely covering the back straight, a good portion of the esses and 13. Not sure if the lack of traction was from the rain or the car rubber, but I was getting pelted with rubber my first session out. Never had chunks of it get in my helmet before. Thanks! It's a fun little toy to break out when the track time ends.
  9. Visiting that track would be awesome! But I need to conserve vacation time as much as possible and I'm already planning on Barber that weekend. Eventually, I'll get there....and Laguna Seca.
  10. For real, Steve and crew(sorry, didn't catch the name) are the bomb for making the trip! Now for a few off-bike videos from monday....need to get something better than a gopro for these kind of shots. Had some of intermediate as well, but it was far away, you couldn't even make out the riders.
  11. Nothing odd by the time I got the med center...probably took 15-20 minutes to arrive, was busy showing everyone the crash video Really didn't head up right away because I was hoping you would show up with the bike...didn't break out the video till Junge asked about it. Was in A the whole day, was going to get a little video of intermediate during the 6th session, but it was red flagged after a lap. Any chance you are planning on the twilight Sunday? Would love to lend a hand
  12. Says you cannot receive messages, so here is what I was trying to send: Do $180 shipped? If so, shoot me your paypal. Not in a rush, borrowed a set for now....my front just took a shit. Not sure what the offset is? -Ryan
  13. damnit, mine hurts every time I see that the end that looks like a break is the connection to the scapula No surgery is great news!!
  14. That left is a Deals Gap corner, crossing the dividing line and then some.
  15. Nivin, what are you looking for? Comparing street to track is two different animals entirely....if you put a dividing line and stay in your lane, 15-20 mph at best pushing it. Our pace on that lap was probably upper 30's at the apex. Here is an example of "all out" and I drop to 43mph at the apex. Beat that lap by nearly 2 second the next day, but I doubt the apex speed changed more than a mph if any.
  16. Wasn't bad, but a little disappointed the front mount was shaking a little bit....on the higher speed runs, it got pretty ugly. Anytime....have a feeling the "slowing down" won't last long.
  17. Other than the couple red flags and injuries.....it was a great 3 days at Mid-O! The new, extended, patchwork in the keyhole was messing with me. It is smooth and you can run right across it with very little issue, but I was accustom to using it as a guide to my inside apex marker. If you stay inside the patchwork now, it results in an early 2nd apex and holding a constant radius for too long, late throttle pickup and losing drive down the back straight. Have to work on getting over the mental hurdle of rolling over it at pace. Tons of bike video from Tuesday and Wednesday.....some off-bike of groups circulating from Monday as well (hopefully it turned out OK). Will get a couple more clips uploaded tonight. For now, we have TimTheAzn killing it in his 2nd intermediate session....6th of the day Tuesday. We discussed a couple things , but overall one giant: Cannot wait to get back out there.
  18. makes me want to tear apart one of the IR guns and make a homebrew one
  19. you'd be surprised....I know of a few coaches who were out in novice and made snap decisions to blitz into a corner on a cold tire. Having the gauge on there as an immediate reference would make all the difference. Temp seems to vary with traction requirements pretty well. If they weren't so pricy, I'd probably pick one up, but need to spend it on another tire warmer.
  20. Ohhhh that is basically shooting an IR temp gauge at the tires??? Wasn't sure what the temps were coming from. That is pretty neat. Don't think it would be much use on a "good" day, but like you said if it isn't ideal conditions, if you are not running at pace, or if you warmers fail....it could save you. Just had a front warmer fail Tuesday....got lucky that I was feeling for heat from the warmers between sessions.
  21. unfortunately can't help you finding the rider.....curious what that little "Mantis" box? Looks like temp readouts?
  22. The extended lunch got everyone cooled down and rested for a red flag-free afternoon.....did everyone a favor.
