  1. I work from home a few days a week usually...I bought a desk that raises and lowers so i can stand at least part of the time. I snack on sunflower seeds (in the shell) which keeps the hunger edge off, relatively healthy and you can't eat a lot of them in a short period of time so you can't really go overboard.
  2. If you were local here, I'd buddy up with ya. I have a small home gym which makes it easier for me (not that you could tell by looking at me)
  3. Boredom eating is huge for me...when I get bored, I get the munchies. If I stay busy, I can barely eat and not notice it.
  4. Hey, if it helps you meet your goals then it is totally worth it.
  5. Yeah, that's steep. I used to pay $15.99/mo a few years ago at Urban active and tons of equipment, racquetball, basketball courts, running track, etc.

  7. True, but building the skill of the punch, kick, proper stance, and how to hit with power can make a big difference. I learned how to use my elbows and knees very effectively as well. It's probably more useful for women...my wife benefited greatly. Most boys grow up learning how to punch and are generally athletic so they've honed the skills to some extent. Before the kick-boxing training, my wife couldn't throw an effective punch to save her life. Now, I'd not want to be on the receiving end of that.
  8. I thikn xfit can be good if you are already in pretty decent shape and don't get crazy. People are getting hurt all over the place from xfit activities because a) they are not fit or instructed well enough to attempt some of the things they are asked to do b) they are doing activities that are inherently dangerous. Personally, I'm thinking of doing boxing. Years ago I did kick boxing training and it was an incredible workout and whipped me into shape in no time. Plus it's fun and gives you skills you could use in the real world to protect yourself
  9. Ugh...saw this on another forum described perfectly: "That's like Harbor Freight buying Snap On Tools. Shit." http://www.reuters.com/article/revzilla-ma-cyclegear-idUSL2N15J1QD
  10. Yeah, we have those (battery operated) but their fur obscures most of it much of the time and they don't seem to last long...the switches keep flaking out.
  11. The original one is $180 (I think I've seen it for $150) and the new one is $250. They also attach to Android phones too. Sounds expensive until you look at the cost of a dedicated cameras http://www.flir.com/flirone/
  12. They now make FLIR cameras that attach to iPhones. There is a new version and an old version. The old version has lesser resolution etc but I've seen it go on sale here and there though I can't remember exactly how much. I've been thinking about getting one. My dogs go in the back yard late at night and I can never see where they are...it would be fun to yank that out and see.
  13. That sucks ass...I was big into freestyle/ramps etc when I was a teen and have been a fan of Mirra's for awhile. Loved his video games. I bet he had a lot of concussions...I wonder if that played a role.
  14. I see a lot of ads for that foam insulation. When I see them, I wonder, what if I decide to run wires through there at some point or add an outlet or something? Seems like that foam would be a major obstacle and maybe a big mess as well.
  15. Thanks for testing the profanity censor code Jim
