  1. PM me your license plate number. I have a few carfax left that I can check via license plate only.
  2. Ohio ranks high for total motorcycles as stated but not too high relative to population. Also agree that it's blue collar lower middle and middle income activity.
  3. http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2014/02/16/50-states-ranked-for-highest-motorcycle-ownership.aspx Ohio 16th
  4. Knowledge and family values don't belong in the same conversation. Please stop! Not everyone is lucky enough to have intelligent parents.
  5. Welcome. Mini bikes were horrible and awesome!
  6. Yes, and once it falls, you turn the wheel in the direction you are turning.
  7. I'm pretty sure she wants to ride more than I want her too at the moment. Not knowing what happened is the hardest part, obviously hard to learn from. I should also mention that those sleeping in cars or vans should bring something to block the lighting. I used cardboard and taped to the van windows. It worked well. Also a small piece as a floor mat to keep out the sand and dead grass would be smart.
  8. Just spent 3 days at Jennings. It was my first time there, learned a lot, enjoyed it a lot. Saturday had a light rain in the AM. I took my 2009 Aprilia RS125 out in the first session Expert and no one was on track, which let me run that session to learn the layout. Rode it one more session, with a couple other bikes on track. After that, we had lunch, track dried out and sun came out to mid 60's F. Rode the 1199 all afternoon. Ran 1:27's fighting a bad pogo on rear end. Started clicking in more rebound and it helped but didn't solve. At the end of the day I swapped off the Dunlops to Pirelli's. Ran a couple sessions on Sunday morning, then got some assistance from Thermosman (AKA Mike). He pointed that my ass was oversprung and needed .80 instead of .95. He also softened it up as best he could and off I went. Times went down to 1:25's. Monday, woke up and felt good. Ran 1:23's in my second outing. After that, the rear slick was fading fast regarding edge grip and I had a few big slides (TC2). Parked the bike and started packing up some of my crap. I rode the RS125 in one expert session on Monday and almost highsided coming out of 10. The rear stepped at least a foot out as I was right on the ass of a few of my buddies on larger bikes. Then I rode it in an Intermediate session so I could go hound all the big bikes and pass them through the tight corners. Loads of fun, until the guy pitting across from me, highsided a CBR600RR about 10 feet in front of me coming out of 10. Luckily his bike went to the left and he went to the right and I split between them with a few feet to spare. Best time on the 125 was 1:35's. Remember this is the street 125 (not a race 125) and with Michelin street tires. GF went out for one final session and ended up crashing hard in turn 3 and was laid out on the track. Evening spent in the ER with result being broken wrist and concussion with some memory loss. No idea what happened. Left side of her boots, leathers and left side + rear of helmet damaged. Bike was beat up bad on the right side. A lot of grinding on the right handlebar and bar end. Switch gear totally busted on the right clip on. Tank cover, all bodywork on right side, peg, and brake lever. I'm still trying to puzzle out what happened. Luckily I was almost all packed up so I was able to get her to the ER in South Georgia pretty quickly. Once there, nothing was quick. She's not a fast rider and this was here first track experience, albeit the third day in a row. The 125 won't exceed 98 mph and she was typically going less than 70. Highly recommend the track. Free camping and showers. Everything is close, pit bike totally unnecessary. They didn't charge us to use the electrical hookups which are located at each pit stall, no need for long extension cords. Concrete patches to set up on were nice. On another note, concession stand/food trailer is pretty tasty and reasonably priced. The couple that run it are very friendly. I drove down in my newly acquired 2002 Sprinter Tall Roof and always got more than 22 mpg's going high 70's. Chris
  9. You can also use the passport card for crossing while in or on a vehicle. It's like the size of a DL.
  10. Seems like a lot for so little loss as a % of total bike and rider.
  11. You say you are talking as a consumer, but you sound like a Honda dealer. 17 new models = sales volume. Name 5 that lead their category in something else besides sales volume. You probably know their product better than I. They stopped keeping all parts available a few years ago. CBR1K hasn't been redesigned since 2008. I can't think of any model that is technically superior to their completion. I'm not saying they build junk, I have 5 Hondas in my garage right now. I have a long standing deposit down on a bike that has been rumored for years, V4 super bike. I hope they get back to building bad ass and innovative products. Right now, they remind me of Toyota during the 90's. Great cars for boring people.
  12. I heard the same thing, but using that logic the red one should work on the fast stuff and the slower stuff.
  13. Welcome aboard. Fat dudes can still race supermoto in OMRL and win (or try to). Costs are still super cheap. Biggie
  14. Welcome. And as someone who has seen every episode of SOA, I think MC is a stupid thing to be a part of. Just the term MC gets on my nerves. Does anyone really want to join the Boy Scouts for bikers?
  15. That's just someone without a car that works.
  16. He wasn't. He was listing option F that you could have listed and still you could have choose A. Relax dude.
  17. New, never installed. Still in the box. 100% perfect condition. Fits 2003-2010. Info found here. https://www.helibars.com/product/suzuki-sv650s-replacement-handlebars List for $279. Selling for $175 shipped to lower 48. Add $10 to Canada. Chris
  18. Kent who is the president of OMRL and the track manager of the kart place ran .001 faster than me sometime today but not in the final. I was .5 second faster in the final Started off with practice session running 44's. Then qualifying heat 1 ran 42.7. Then we ran two races for position best around 42.4. Started 4th in the final and finished 2nd with best of 41.9 I think. Maybe faster. 100% sure I was in the 41's for sure. Trick is to minimize sliding and hug the front end to the barriers when sliding.
  19. Had a great time with OMRL today. First time there and damn it's slick takes some getting used to. Broke into the 41's and got second overall with the fastest lap of the day. Corner workers were only blue flagging for the leader and fellow employee. Great time anyway. Just hate losing when I felt I could win it.
  20. I plan to send mine to barnacle bills in KY for cleaning and repair just as soon as I get back from jennings.
  21. That's exactly the problem, they don't update and when they do, it's barely to catch up, nothing to lead!!! I was a walking talking spokesman for Honda. Always my number 1, not anymore.
  22. Pirelli Race Tires, looking for others to help us get free shipping. I'm ordering 3 rear and 2 front slicks from James Bock (Pirelli Road Race South East Region). This is for spares for Jennings and to use for some WERA rounds. I'm posting this, since buying 10 tires will include free shipping. Discount on the tires from normal price as well. Any of you people want to get in on the discount and free shipping? UPS/FEDEX prices seemed to have climbed a lot in the last 6 months. Not sure why, but everything is pricey to ship lately. These are the latest SC compound tires SC 0,1,2. Personally I'm getting 1&2's. 0 are super softs. DOT and slicka available. Need to know by first thing Friday AM. PM for the agreed upon price. Shipping will be to one place. Chris
  23. If you guys haven't noticed Honda has really dropped the ball in all segments. I no longer think honda first for everything like I did for 2 decades or more. Now they are just one of many options. I wish for them to use their capabilities and get back to the front. Short of MotoGP, I don't seem them as a leader in any category except sales volume.
