  1. So glad you included the additional instruction... May have saved someone from quite the embarrassing situation. :wtf:

    "Why didn't kitty live?"

"I uh.. forgot to make it poop.."

It's going to be alot of work and alot of meowing. You have to "poop" them aka take a wet warm rag and rub their but with it until they poo. Their mothers usually do this and if you don't it will die.

Yeah, every 2-3 hours for feeding... not excited about the first few weeks, but it's too darn cute not to do.

When I talked to the vet she had told me to feed it powder instead of liquid, how to "make it go," etc. and gave me a print-out which is helping.

I'm really just worried about the first couple of days. If she makes it past like a week I'll be feelin' purty good.

If not, then, well.. I think this girl that is like infatuated with how I'm treating the kitten will hate me for life, along with a few other animal-loving FB friends.

  2. Dogs are a pain to live with. Very needy too.

Also, by me never having to bottle feed one was me saying I've had kittens but never that young. ;)

Oh, I figured that haha. Didn't mean you didn't know cats or anything. :p

We put down our miniature yorkie a month or two ago and this house has been kind of lonely! I want a cool-looking, chill cat to sit and watch me program and shit.

  3. Never had one that needed a bottle, but sounds like your doing fine. Cats are awesome, I have 2 myself and 2 dogs.

*shrug* Both the vet and the Internet (but more importantly the vet..) said a bottle is needed for a kitten this young. The workers at the vet think she was born today, which is quite believable considering she still had some of her cord attached.

Yeah, I've had multiple dogs but never a cat. I'd like something that's smart enough to find its way around the couch for once.

  4. Alright, so I found this kitty laying outside of my apartments on the sidewalk, sprawled out and dirty and no nearby cats to call its mother. (No other kittens, either.)

Tried seeing if any of the wandering cats would notice it, but no...

    So yeah, orphaned.

I went to the vet and had them tell me what to do, then went to Wal-Mart and got supplies. (Powdered cat milk, bottle and heat warmer.)

Went to my grandparents who have had a lot of cats and had them show me how to feed it and such.

Now she's laying like so, except with an extra blanket I put under the warmer and over the kitty.

Any experiences with doing this sort of thing? Tips?

My mom and I were planning on getting a kitten here soon anyways, so... kind of works out. Just with what sounds like a lot more work for the first while! Hoping she'll make it!

  5. Anybody else off for the day that would want to ride?

Even if nobody else shows, I might be going down to NKY roads to enjoy the cockblockless Tuesday traffic. (Along with nice 71 degrees!) BUT I'm always up for some extra company! :D

    You know you want to...

  6. Damn... ain't afraid to pray for you girl. GWS.

On a side note, if that ever happens to me, don't stand around the side of the road and stare at me... get down there in the ditch with me and sit with me. Talk to me. Tell me I'm Ok and keep me from panicking... Just don't fucking move me. If I'm face down, tell me where I'm at and be calm about it.

    Just sayin.

As the person who took that video, we didn't just stand around and do nothing. Literally as soon as I put down that helmet we got down in there and talked to her.

At least I took that post as saying we did nothing.

And yeah, please nobody go down on the EPIC ride. Here's to hoping for awesome weather and such things!

  7. I would suggest lifting for yourself and not anyone else.

An adult male weighs at least 200 pounds.

Oh, don't get me wrong, it is for myself. I'm sick of being completely lazy.

And don't forget that squats are gods gift to man! I mainly plan on lifting for aesthetics, but I figured I would go with starting strength for at least the foundation.

  8. Can a young guy join the fun?

Starting the Starting Strength program once I get done reading about the different movements, and also taking Bikeesha out on a lot of rides this year.

161 lbs according to my mom's scale, but I feel like that's low... My goal is like 170 with less fat, mo' muscle. Gotta look sexy for da ladies at OSU.

If anyone around Dayton is a bike rider themselves, I'm up for a ride!

  9. Wish I was not working overnight, would have joined for sure. What time you guys heading out?

    Anyways ride safe

I got off work at 5 am, heading out on the bike to ride today at 9:30. Come on now!

  10. Gloves are something I recommend trying on at a store before ordering somewhere... For example, I can't even wear 3X a star gloves, but my current gloves are XL and fit fine.. Something with how some gloves are cut, I can't get my hand in... I won't buy them without trying them on first

This. Stuff I wear is the only thing I won't buy on the Internet.

Go to store, find what you like and the size, and THEN Nathan!
