  1. I was talking to a girl a couple days ago that was all pissed off she got a ticket for running her high beams full time. Had no clue that those lights were blinding to oncoming traffic.

There are no words for that ignorance. If you've been driving for more than a month you've had someone's brights blinding you.

Though I will admit that there is many a time that I'll have had my brights on for a while driving through the sticks, somebody flashes me, and my mind goes to "A COP!" for like 30 seconds before I realize what they really meant. And then I feel like a dick.

  2. For anybody that knows me, I'm a senior in high school.

I'm pretty much decided between going on to OSU or UK next year, but .. I can't decide between those two!

Is there good riding up in Columbus? Anybody that's going to OSU here have an opinion (how you like it, etc.)? Sway me, dammit.

I'm mostly on the OSU side at this point, but I need a nudge to make the final jump.

  3. liability insurance is a whole different animal than vehicle insurance. You think coverage for your bike is bad, you don't even wanna know what liability insurance for a medium or high risk company is. A college dormitory would be an extremely high risk thing to insure

But nothing dangerous ever happens in a dormitory...

  4. chuck e cheese. i think i have more fun there then my kids do.

My cousin had his like 5th birthday party (or some age around there) there and he was afraid, almost crying, every time that mouse made his rounds to the tables. Made me laugh hysterically. :D

I would say that barbecue idea is good. Definitely not too over-the-top.

I agree that too many parents make too big of a deal out of their kids' VERY young birthdays, but for some families that rarely see each other it is definitely a good reason to get together and catch up. Especially good for a military family, as you said.

  5. Congratulation - glad to hear somebody's getting some these days. LoL .... When my lovely wife and I experienced this it was 3x different... Three heart beats, yes TRIPLETS... Our lives changed drastically ... My son and both his sisters will be 16 yrs old in June, and they all are in marching band AND their Dad ( ME) gets to pay the $5,075.00 band fees... aaarrrgggggg......triple fun ....

    $5,075!?

My marching band fees were only $500/year! :wtf:

  6. Thats why Im not getting the bike out until Thursday :D

At least around here the roads should be clear and probably dry by then.

I understand those southern towns dont deal with snow quite as well. :D

    Craig

Takes them way too damn long. And what the hell is up with these flashy flashy "HEY LOOK AT ME" salt trucks this year?

Projected 56 degrees and NICE on Sunday when I'm off work. Don't leave me hanging, nature!

  7. the low mileage is nice but for an '07 I wouldn't give him more than 5k. Even then I'd probably try and get it for 4500-4700. For 6k you can find under 10k mile 09-10's

I'd say 5K would be a decent price, but $4,500 would be awesome.

Even KBB only says $5,850 as a dealer price. Why do people think their bike is worth so much more than it really is?

  8. I get the directional aspect of it, but given the geometry of the room as it relates to positions where I can wall-mount speakers (I also have to dance around hallway openings, a patio door, and the aforementioned laundry closet), the position of the TV, and seating, mounting speakers becomes a pretty substantial chore, and I thought that even though if it was one-directional, that a proper soundbar would be able to push out enough sound to make it worth it.

Mount them high up in corners, pointing down?

If you're not an audiophile and aren't worried about being "immersed" in the sound for games and such, you'll be happy with either.

Though I will never go back to a non surround system..

lul sending this frum mai fone so kewl!

  9. Can you elaborate on the one-directional bit?

As hard as they try to "emulate" surround sound, you can completely tell that the sound is just coming from that bar. Action scenes, etc., I just don't like hearing everything coming from one spot.

I bought the highest-end Klipsch soundbar available, and highs, lows, etc. were AMAZING. I just couldn't get over the 'positioning' of the sound.

The whole Klipsch system I bought, at full retail price, would be about $300 over what just the soundbar would be. But in my opinion, is still very worth it.

Obviously the surround sound set-up is quite a bit more work, though, what with a receiver and all. So figure out how much effort your system quality is worth for you. I can be a pretty big audiophile.

  10. That's a nice kit, but its a shitload of sockets (a good thing) 36 wrenches, gear wrenches (good thing) 6 extensions and 3 ratchets. All good. 22 pieces of it are screwdriver bits from what I read. Not so good.

You will still need some metric hex sockets for working on bikes. You'll need some good screwdrivers too.

Difference in uses from hex sockets to just getting T-handle hex wrenches?

And I ended up buying that 309-pc set and the 2 chests. With extra discounts applied (found a $35 coupon for over $300), total came out to be $461 excluding tax.
