I can tell you that the population of the National Guard units that I interact with (been in for almost 12 years now) makes an NRA convention look like a Green Peace rally. The Fed would be hard pressed to call any of us to suppress any kind of pro-gun rights demonstration.

I really think you're overestimating a few things here. First, that the Obama team has any clue what's actually going on. Second, that the result of the Arab Spring in Egypt (which was inevitable) could have been anything other than the Muslim Brotherhood or an analog. And third, that the government of Egypt has the sort of control over its populace that you seem to think it has.

Actually, no he hasn't been replaced, because we've killed most of his successors. And their successors. That's actually what we've been doing over there for more than a decade, and we've done a really good job of it. Following that, we're trying to build infrastructure and a government strong enough to ensure that, once we're gone, a new cancer won't be allowed to spring up where we've just cut the old one out. But tell me (channeling Condescending Wonka here), how again is Israel supposed to prevent the rise if militant, terrorist Islamist groups in Afghanistan again? It's in a written agreement with the GIROA, I don't think Obama really has a choice. We're drawing down already, and so are our coalition partners. The status of forces agreement isn't finalized as far as a number goes, but if I had to guess, I'd say less than 5000. And not forever. Or, it could go the way it did in Iraq, and we'll just leave altogether. But we won't be there indefinitely, like we have been in Europe and Japan (who want us there, btw). You have no idea what you're looking at, and neither does wikileaks.
