  1. >> as always jack u deliver the best, ty Tried to quote. Phone wouldn't let me. Many thanks returned, Nivin. Wish more was as supportive. Always glad to help. .
  2. Wasn't Coolville. Was Coonville. Bad place for a traffic light in the middle of nowhere, just around a curve. Too easy to get run over by a car coming around the curve when you are stopped at the red light. Locals know it's there. We don't. Didn't mention the usual curves just out of site, immediately over the rise. Some marked. Many not. Hard braked a few times. No close calls. With no festivities, or dinner invites, and most leaving end point before slower groups arrive, see no reason not to bail out at Somerset. . .
  3. Hey, me too. Here's a link: http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/104754-epic-ride-route-report/ .
  4. I pulled out of the driveway at 3:00pm. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to go. No time to send out invites. So, I went. Took the scenic route. Down OH-13, off onto Linnville road, across Rt 40, 204 to Glennford, and 757 to Somerset. This is where I picked up the route for the Epic Ride. 668 through Junction City, right on 93, and on into Logan. Went to Kroger and filled up. Popped into Dairy Queen to take a leak, then jumped on the bike and took off. It was around 5:00pm by then. 93 to 56, 691. Got to Nelsonville and things got fuzzy. Went under Rt 33 and stopped. Something wasn't right. Missed a turn. Looking for Old US-33. Turned around and found it back down at the bottom of the hill. Should have turned left. Marked "Business". Watch for it. Traffic light there. Long way around though. Better for me to have gone straight, onto 78, point D to F, instead of D,E,F. Must be a gas stop in there I don't know about. Burr Oak, zig zag at Happy Hollow, and I'm on 78 to 685. Found 13, and back on 78. Gassed at Malta. Sun was dropping fast. Jumped on 669 and hoped the river wasn't over the road somewhere. Almost got my tires wet. Hope it doesn't rain much before the ride. May need a detour. 669 all the way back to Somerset. Up 13, back into town. Pulled in driveway at 8:30. Man, my neck is sore. Don't see how you crotch rocket guys can ride for a long time with your head up like that. Thought I went through a place called Coolville. Road was down to one lane with a red light just after the curve. Be on your toes for that. It really sneaks up on you. Just after the red light, there is a curve full of stones from the construction. That's another scary spot. Neck hurts like hell. .
  5. Sorry mate, that be me. T'was wishful thinking on my part. .
  6. Is this in hopes that she will want to ride with you more often, or is this in hopes that she will be more accepting of you getting the bike you want? If the bike you tease her with is not the very one that you want to end up with, there could be attitude directed at you, down the road. Put her on the very bike you dream of her enjoying, with you. If she is happy with it, and talks about it the next day with a smile on her face, your chances are good that she'll want to be your riding partner, often. .

  8. Really. It's give and take. But, there are limits. As long as they are generally happy with their arrangement, and it works for them, I'm happy for them. .
  9. By not knowing the law, we allow ourselves to be treated as they wish to treat us. We should have never let it get this far. http://www.tyrannybusters.org/pages/sublev/highway.htm http://forum.grasscity.com/politics/1227205-right-travel-unmolested.html
  10. Allowing the "other" to make your plans for you is putting yourself on a string like a marionette. No thanks, I'll make my own plans. .

    WTF??

This may have been payback on someone who gave the guy a problem. He may have recognized the bike as he was passing and decided it was his chance to even the score. .
  12. Yes, that's what you stated. That's very close to the arrangement last time, other than where to park. Sorry to muddy up the works, if you think I was doing that. I'll just sit back with my box of popcorn and watch. .
  13. So, you're the F'ker I've been looking for. I almost never found that key. .
  14. I think you guys failed to see the bigger picture. This was not an assignment of riders to groups. This was a picture of where deficiencies were for leads and sweeps according to the number of participants we had posted at that time. Names were dropped in for purposes of illiustration, and based on type of group riders wished to be with. It is useful information if you choose to make use of it. .
  15. I do know to make a left onto 669 in Crooksville, and not end us up in Zanesville. I'll consider leading a Sloooow group, but I'm not committing myself yet. I still have to see if I can get off work for this, and if the weather is crappy, I'm staying home.
  16. I do not know the route. I may take a map and ride it ahead of time if I get the chance, but this ride is two weeks away and I have only four days off work between then and now. Getting the weatherman to do his part is the problem. I'm not leaving the house if the temperature is in the 40's. . . .
  17. The only concern I would have about this is if they are dropping into a group that already has a maximum number of riders in it. They will not know that. I would suggest that it be emphasized that riders join a group one degree slower than they think they are skilled for so that the need to drop to a slower group would be less likely. .
  18. People who said they would, or may be willing to lead are: jschaf - Fast derekclouser - Medium Fast rhill - Medium (or Sweep Fast) mykill - Medium helmutt - Medium Wolfman1 - Medium Cdubyah - Slow People who said they would, or may be willing to Sweep are: Tpoppa - Fast rhill - Fast (or Lead Medium) whaler - Medium Fast Bad324 (pending arrival) - Medium snot - Medium 330racing - Medium mike53ali - Medium Slow malaysionnvasion - Slow zx3vfr - Slow-er Here are the the totals of each group according to where people have stated they wished to ride, not including Leads and Sweeps. Fast - 1 Medium Fast - 6 Medium - 11 Medium Slow - 3 Slow - 23 There are an additional 4 that have not claimed a group and there are several "maybe". These are all the posting results thru today. Expect many more riders to show up. .
  19. It's not nearly as tall as the Connie. The Triumph Trophy fits me pretty well, also. They have/had one at the Pony. A 2013 w/15K mi. A guy traded it in on an Indian. I really liked it, but I'm not ready to fork out 16G's. It was all bagged out and ready for traveling. .
  20. I might get camping gear and an FJR. I would finance the rest. .
  21. Thanks, Nivin. I needed that. Now, I'm going to dinner. .
  22. This was just an idea for future large gatherings. .
