  1. Insurance. I buy insurance, but I don't intend to use it, unless I have to. .
  2. I think a limit of ten bikes per group is required. Eleven bikes equal a group of five plus a group of six. .
  3. Can you be more specific, please? .
  4. I agree that we should expect many more riders than what have posted up. My intent was to find the holes needing filled by additional LEADs and Sweepers as we do not have enough stepping up to the plate for these roles. One of the largest issues from last year was that the groups were too large. Knowing where planning is deficient early on can help one to avoid ending up with groups of 25 riders with no one wanting to lead or sweep, and no one in the group having ridden the route before then. Based on what you said here >> Last year, we only had about 40 or so people listed to showing to the event and we had over 75 bikes. .....to me that suggests we need twice the number of LEADs and Sweepers that we currently have listed. >> I just want organize leads sweeps based off how many riders we think we will have (and have some on reserve in case we get way more riders than expected). I think we have in the neighborhood of 60 riders listed. So, an expectation of 120 or more showing up is not out of order. Friends from the north are not even listed and Doc with his, probably growing, group of Michigan friends, could easily add another ten, being a group all their own. I think this thing is growing exponentially faster than the list of skilled riders needed for leadership roles. In the beginning, I was tempted to try and piece together what it would take to make this ride a success, but was glad that you stepped up and ran with it. I didn't want to do it without the support I wanted from others, but thought may be difficult to get. There are lessons to be learned here that can highly benefit us on future rides, if we pay attention to them, and use the information for improvement and fine tuning. We may also find that strict guidelines may need to be enforced in order to maintain a manageable event and for safety purposes. This is an event that I, as a fairly new rider, look forward to. But, I think I am now beginning to realize why some prefer to avoid riding on group rides, due to what it takes to put it together and keep it manageable. Anyway, I'm not trying to step on toes. I'm here to help do what I can, if needed. . .
  5. PM sent, because I'm a little slow to understand. Thanks. .
  6. Give me one with a rear rocket launcher, for those pesky tailgaters. .
  7. This posting awaits the approval of DerekClouser. I had the day off and was bored. I read every single posting in this thread and based this information on your latest posts, and what you stated that you were willing to do. I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes. I'm only trying to fill some gaps and update information that needed put in place. Everyone, please read. If you are not listed, you need to post up and state which skill level you choose to ride in. If you are listed but have not indicated a preferred skill level, please do so as soon as possible. Thanks to all. ~ Jack . FAST!! jschaf (LEAD) OhioFZ6's +1 WHO ELSE IS IN THIS GROUP? 8. I didn't know about the newer TV's. They don't need a separate box to use an antenna? I'm not a sports guy. My eyes glaze over watching people fight for domination of a ball. I like watching cars drive around in circles, motorcycles on a track, and girls wearing very skimpy outfits. .
  9. I think a complete and updated list of leads and sweeps is in order. Don't wait until a week before and have to scramble for them. They need to know ahead of time to study the route so they can actually lead. .
  10. Yep! Me too. For me, I'm waving because they are riding on something that exposes them to the elements of weather. Farmers on tractors are another target of my waving hand, just as long as they are not enclosed in an air-conditioned, air-ride, 8-track music blasting plowing machine. If you are walking down the road, carrying a flashlight, I'll likely give you a wave before I realize it. . .
  11. I wave to mopeds, scooters, bicycles, cars with one headlight, and pretty girls. I'll even wave to a snobby Harley rider and won't get an attitude if he doesn't wave back. I'm an equal opportunity kind of guy. .
  12. I've had Dish. I've had TW. I have DirecTV and it's not any better. All of their programming sucks. It's full of 24 hr commercials. I have Windstream DSL. It's fine. I had RoadRunner through TW. It sucked, fiber optic or not. I've thought about getting rid of TV service and getting one of those antenna boxes for free TV and just subscribing to Net Flicks. For what TV costs me, I'm paying much more than I think it's worth. .

I would suggest a "Work for food" program. There are a lot of things that can be done by people needing a handout. No work, no eat, unless you are physically unable to do anything at all that is useful. .
  14. I asked him about them. He mentioned hehas seen them become embedded in tires. Other than that, wasn't much said about them except that some people like them. .

    >> so the only reason you work is to eat? No. But, continue to provide for others in such a way that they have no actual need to provide for themselves and they will not only continuously have their hand extended in expectation of being provided for, they will teach their offspring to be successful in doing the same. .
  16. Me and some friends are meeting in Logan, Ohio on May 17th, for a big ride through some twisted roads in the lower part of the state and we welcome you to join us. Last May, there were around 70 riders that showed up from all over Ohio, some from Michigan, and at least one from Indianapolis. This ride is a big deal for the OhioRider community. You don't want to miss this if you can help it. Read the details here: http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/103963-unofficial-spring-2014-epic-ride-may-17th/ Hope to see you there. .

There is not enough hunger in this country. The poor have it too easy. They are well paid to not work, and to continue to not work. They are provided clothing and shelter. They are given one or more cell phones. Hunger is a good motivator. It causes people to be creative. It gives them an incentive to achieve, to succeed. It inspires them to instill in their children a reason to be successful and to have a better life. Plant a person in your basement, give them a cell phone, meals, electricity, hot and cold running water, and some spending money. Then, send them out to get a job. What's their incentive? They have it easy. Their needs have been taken care of. Hunger is a good motivator. There are not enough hungry in this country. .

  19. We have a list of 55 riders among the follow skill levels. Fast Medium-Fast Medium Slow Cruiser and heavy touring This means we need at least 5 Leads and 5 Sweeps. Step up. Step up. Step up. .
  20. Leads and sweep riders, raise your hand. There's a need for more than what is currently listed. Who has the skills to be up to the task? This is your chance to step up to the plate and take a position of leadership among your peers. Who's up? .
