  1. I bought one of those $20 magnets from Iron Pony when I got my bike. It has double sided sticky tape so you can stick it anywhere under your bike. Just make sure to clean the spot well before you try to make it stick. There's only one traffic light that I've had an issue with since then. You only need to buy one. I thought it was $20 well spent. .
  2. It's time to put a tire on the rear of the GS 500. The tires on it came with the bike. They have 7700 miles on them. I'll take any advice you would like to give. Front: 110/70 R17 Rear: 130/70 R17 I would like tires I can ride safely in the rain with, can carve twisty roads at a quick pace, and will last me a while. I'll probably get them from Iron Pony and have them put them on. I'll also have them check the brakes and all that. So, what are some tires that would be right for my bike? And, should I go ahead and get a front tire put on while I'm at it? Thanks. .
  3. That bike looks stocky and mean, kind of like a Tasmanian Devil. .

  5. I may have made a suggestion or two that was considered. It appears everything was in good hands and ran well, and I'm pleased with that. I'm especially pleased that no shiny bike parts got scuffed up and that those frozen smiles, upon arrival, were warm smiles on the way home. I'm thinking about a ride down to the Big Musky Bucket on the weekend of the Gap trip, for those of us who can't get away to slay the Dragon. Still thinking about it. Let you know. .
  6. I'm not a cold weather rider and this morning's wind chill at 60 MPH would have been 36º F. Some may enjoy it. I do not. Sorry to have missed you guys, but we'll meet again. Promise. .
  7. An hour delay might make it more pleasant for those leaving home from far away. It's 35º F in Logan at the moment. .
  8. It's 12:30 PM and 50º F with a 60% chance of precipitation in my neck of the woods. Currently, rain and sleet is falling from the sky. .
  9. Patchy frost is expected on Sunday morning. For those hitting the road early, be careful. .
  10. New ARC class! There are 12 seats available for the MSF Advanced Rider Course on Saturday, August the 2nd, 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM. 11. I road it ten days ago. All of Malta could be washed away by now. .
  12. One can still be planned for the fall. Those who cannot make this one, or who decide the weather isn't working for them, can possibly make it later in the season, and some will attend both. Plan it up. .
  13. May's weather is always iffy, always rainy, and often with very cool temps. From now on, I'm voting we do this in mid June. .
  14. Bike availability fee: $125 for first hour or any fraction thereof. $75 for each additional hour or any fraction thereof. Bike provider will also receive from the photographer no less than five high gloss 8 X 10 photos of himself with said model in friendly poses. .
  15. Someone who is organizing this may want to call the Morgan county Sheriff's office to see if OH-669 W,out of Malta, is passable along the river, on the morning of the ride, due to high water. Two alternate routes to connect with OH-669 W, are: OH-78 WOH-37 WOH-555 N (only five miles)OH-669 W ...and, if you don't want to risk OH-555 with potentially newer riders: OH-78 W OH-37 W OH-93 NOH-669 W But, I'm not the planner. Morgan county Sheriff's office Telephone: 740-962-4044 .
  16. There was a sign. BUT...you still don't expect the light to be out of sight and immediately after the curve. .
  17. I prefer she has her place, and I have my place. That gives you enough space to miss each other. She can come over, spend the night, or a weekend. But, she has a place to go back to, which is good for when you need to decompress from too much togetherness. It's really like playing a game of cards, anyway. In the beginning, you have a heart and a diamond. In the end, you wish you had a club and a spade.
  18. Hocking Hills early on a Sunday morning, in and out before noon wouldn't be so bad. Epic Ride Route? Did that yesterday. >> http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/104754-epic-ride-route-report/#entry1390378 .

  20. >> as always jack u deliver the best, ty Tried to quote. Phone wouldn't let me. Many thanks returned, Nivin. Wish more was as supportive. Always glad to help. .
  21. Wasn't Coolville. Was Coonville. Bad place for a traffic light in the middle of nowhere, just around a curve. Too easy to get run over by a car coming around the curve when you are stopped at the red light. Locals know it's there. We don't. Didn't mention the usual curves just out of site, immediately over the rise. Some marked. Many not. Hard braked a few times. No close calls. With no festivities, or dinner invites, and most leaving end point before slower groups arrive, see no reason not to bail out at Somerset. . .
  22. Hey, me too. Here's a link: http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/104754-epic-ride-route-report/ .
  23. I pulled out of the driveway at 3:00pm. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to go. No time to send out invites. So, I went. Took the scenic route. Down OH-13, off onto Linnville road, across Rt 40, 204 to Glennford, and 757 to Somerset. This is where I picked up the route for the Epic Ride. 668 through Junction City, right on 93, and on into Logan. Went to Kroger and filled up. Popped into Dairy Queen to take a leak, then jumped on the bike and took off. It was around 5:00pm by then. 93 to 56, 691. Got to Nelsonville and things got fuzzy. Went under Rt 33 and stopped. Something wasn't right. Missed a turn. Looking for Old US-33. Turned around and found it back down at the bottom of the hill. Should have turned left. Marked "Business". Watch for it. Traffic light there. Long way around though. Better for me to have gone straight, onto 78, point D to F, instead of D,E,F. Must be a gas stop in there I don't know about. Burr Oak, zig zag at Happy Hollow, and I'm on 78 to 685. Found 13, and back on 78. Gassed at Malta. Sun was dropping fast. Jumped on 669 and hoped the river wasn't over the road somewhere. Almost got my tires wet. Hope it doesn't rain much before the ride. May need a detour. 669 all the way back to Somerset. Up 13, back into town. Pulled in driveway at 8:30. Man, my neck is sore. Don't see how you crotch rocket guys can ride for a long time with your head up like that. Thought I went through a place called Coolville. Road was down to one lane with a red light just after the curve. Be on your toes for that. It really sneaks up on you. Just after the red light, there is a curve full of stones from the construction. That's another scary spot. Neck hurts like hell. .
  24. Sorry mate, that be me. T'was wishful thinking on my part. .
