  1. Okay, Tigerpaw. That's one. Me. That's two. If there would be enough for two classes, we could try to make one early and one later for those needing more time for arrangements.
  2. . . . Lodging MAD Maps The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum Powertye Tie-Downs Rider Magazine . . . I thought for a minute I left it out. Everyone pop over to FB and give a "Like" to motociclista's book, "The Ride So Far: Tales from a Motorcycling Life". http://www.facebook.com/ridesofar Lance has forgotten more about motorcycling than I'll ever live long enough to learn. .
  3. Just an idea but... Last year they were not planning any Advanced Rider Courses in Columbus without enough riders to sign up. How many of you would be interested in taking the Advanced Rider Course this season? Perhaps we could arrange one specifically for OhioRiders, and perhaps we could arrange more than one if enough of us are interested. Post up if you would like to take the class, so one of us can make a call to see what can be arranged after the weather warms up. .

  5. 2014 Registration begins on February 14, 2014, at 8 a.m. I waited two days after registration opened and it was already booked up through June. Don't wait to sign up. Pick the course that is right for you. Rider Courses • Basic Rider (BRC) For newer riders and those wanting to learn how to ride, the BRC is the place to start. http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/basic_rider.stm • Basic Rider Course for Returning Riders (BRC-RR) For riders 18 and over who have been riding on a temporary permit for at least a year, or who are starting to ride again after an extended time away from riding, the Returning Rider BRC (BRC-RR) is the course to take. http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/BRC-RR.stm • Basic Rider Course - 2 (BRC-2) Motorcycle safety reports indicate that 75% of motorcycle crashes involve "experienced" riders. Never rode 2-UP but you met a sweetie that wants to ride with you? Be safer with this course. Do you already have your motorcycle endorsement and your own motorcycle? Then take the Basic Rider Course-2 (BRC-2) as an early-season refresher, to bond with that new-to-you motorcycle, or to gain experience and improve control while riding with a passenger. This course is designed for the experienced/endorsed rider (and co-rider) who want to learn more about reducing the risk of riding and practice skills under the watchful and helpful eye of a trained instructor. BRC-2 Highlights 6-hour, one-day, range-only course (no formal classroom session) Requires motorcycle license or endorsement Use your own 2-wheeled motorcycle Passengers allowed http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/BRC2.stm • Advanced Rider (ARC) Do you already have your motorcycle endorsement and your own motorcycle? Are you very comfortable with how your motorcycle handles and have over 1,000 miles of experience on it? If you’re ready to learn how to ride your motorcycle better, take the Advanced Rider Course (ARC). ARC Highlights 9-hour, one-day course Requires motorcycle license or endorsement Use your own 2-wheeled motorcycle http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/advanced_rider.stm Please note that the Advanced Rider Course was not offered at the beginning of the sign-up period last year. The course was however added to the schedule later in the year. Courses may be added as the season progresses so don't forget to check often for a course that you may be interested in that has not yet been listed or is filled up. Motorcycle Ohio homepage: http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/index.stm Many answers: http://www.dmv.org/oh-ohio/motorcycle-license.php#Which-Ohio-Motorcycle-License-is-Right-for-You Note: The BRC is $50 and no longer $25 as listed in the above link. 1-800-83-RIDER .
  6. Keep in mind that Memorial Day weekend is the 24th/25th. That may affect the amount of traffic on the roads during that time. .
  7. I would drill out the lock on the garage door handle, then put on a new handle. .
  8. A rain date would be nice, just in case the weather man is uncooperative. .
  9. From the beginning of May thru the end of September, this year, there are 22 Saturdays. We need some ride planners to step up to the plate. We ought to be able to get in three to six rides in that time period, even with smaller groups. That's a ride every four to six weeks if we add a couple weeks in October. Those who can't show for one, can show for another. . .
  10. Here's a great shot of a Ural drive shaft connection. I always wondered how these were set up.
  11. For anyone wanting to be in the elements, on icy/snowy/slushy roads, this may be your spot of tea. IMZ-Ural is a Russian maker of heavy sidecar motorcycles. Recently the company has developed a solo motorcycle with no sidecar. URAL motorcycles are equipped with four-stroke, air-cooled, flat-twin engines, a four speed gear box with reverse gear, shaft drive, two disc dry clutch, spring shock absorbers, and drum brakes. The sidecar wheel is powered, making it a 2WD vehicle. http://youtu.be/qr2O4tXrszM http://youtu.be/J4rWJJq0HpU There was a YouTube video of one plowing snow, but I can't find it. http://www.imz-ural.com/ I almost want one.
  12. I would put a roof rack on the Subaru and pull a trailer behind it. I could hide the trailer somewhere if I needed to and come back and get it later. .
  13. It's winter. It's cold. I have a bad case of cabin fever, my throttle hand is getting itchy, and I'm getting testy. C'mon summertime. .
  14. You do not choose my shoulds and my should nots. .
  15. For as many riders as we have total, I actually think that two or three rides during the season is not a bad idea. It makes it easier for those with scheduling issues to possibly squeeze in a ride with OhioRider friends at least once during the season. We have votes for each season, which indicates an interest in rides at different times and possibly more often. .
  16. A......maybe Spring Opener and Fall Finale? Sorry. Have the day off with a case of cabin fever. You know how we get when we've been couped up in the winter with no riding time. .
  17. We need more votes. Spring, March - May is in the lead. Realistically, March is cold, April's weather is very iffy, so May has the most promise of the three, but seems to have the most rain. Speak up, if you haven't. You have until this coming Friday, the 31st, to cast your vote for the season that works best for you. .
  18. I found myself actually waiting for a song to break out. http://youtu.be/EYzfTdIZoP0 .
  19. Getting one of those 2014 VFR 800's for us to test ride would put a feather in your hat. .
  20. The fit in the arms may be why it was on clearance. Possibly others felt the fit was not quite right. What's the stuff used on baseball gloves to soften them up when they are new? Mineral oil? Watch those stitches where it's tight, in case they begin to start pulling lose. If it's too tight, they may also begin to cut into the leather. I think I would take it to a shop and see about having it reinforced at those seams. A place that works on leather would be the best place to go. And ask them about softening the leather. They would know better than any of us, and probably sell a product that would be perfect for the job. Double checking the stitching at the end of each riding season wouldn't be a bad idea. .

  22. I'll choose "A" to do business with. You choose what makes you happy and who you think you can trust the most. A) We are a Christian owned company. B) We are Satan worshipers. C) We are Pagans. D) We are an atheist owned business. E) Our company is owned and operated by witches.
