  1. How late will you be on the lake? I can be there around 3:30. And where can I find you? (The member attackpainter cannot receive any new messages)
  2. Just tell them what you said once before >> English is my 4th language, only red necks on this forum give me shit. I wish I could speak two languages. .
  3. Welcome to the arctic north. You are right down there among the twisties that we all seek out. Try this link for some roads in your part of the state. I have several of them on my "must ride" list for this coming season. http://www.motorcycleroads.com/Routes/Ohio_111.html Don't ya have some relatives we could all go visit down in Florida, until winter is past? .
  4. Yeah, here I am. Sorry, I was asleep at the wheel. Anyways, I got my GS 500 F almost two years ago. It had 1300 miles on it. Now it has about 6900, I think. I have a 29" inseam and this bike's seat sits at 31.1 inches. I can flatfoot it without stretching, but usually my heals are up a hair when I'm sitting, relaxed at a light. It's my first bike, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I'm glad I got it and not a 250. I dropped it on 555 and scuffed it up a little, but a change of the handlebars got me back on the road. It's fast enough for me to enjoy. When I first learned how to ride it, I got it up to 45 MPH. Wow! I was flyin'. Now, 80 is the new 60 and I'm having a blast with it. After this riding season, if money is right, I'll have the itch to upgrade to something else. But, I've read that many who have owned one wish they still had it to buzz about on, due to their upgrade being a bit cumbersome for short jaunts to the market, or around town. I've always said that there is absolutely nothing at all wrong with having more than one motorcycle. Send me a PM with questions and I'll tell you what I know about the bike. I'm happy with it and It's some of the most fun I've had with my pants on. .
  5. I'll pass. Security of my property in your possession is a top concern. There is no item on your premises that is more important than the item that belongs to me. If I drop it off, I fully expect to pick it in a condition superior to when I left it. http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/92666-mj-usa/
  6. I would prefer a female of my interest to ride her own bike, and ride it well. .
  7. Anytime is good for me, as long as I can get off work. I voted for all three times, but I think that later in the season gives folks a chance to have their riding skills polished up before taking part in an event as large as ours was last May. Doc gave me a count of around 70 bikes. I don't know how many groups we had, but there seemed to be quite a few. The larger the event, the more likely an unfortunate incident will occur. This is getting to where it may be a good idea to have the medically trained riders spread among the groups just in case something were to happen. And it's not too early to begin a list of those willing/ qualified to lead/sweep. .
  8. Here's one that stays off of 664. It's 101 miles and stays on U.S. and Ohio state routes. Have a peek. http://goo.gl/maps/sHIaQ
  9. This route offers 2 1/2 hours of riding for 100 miles. It starts and ends at the same location as last May's Epic Ride. It's only a suggestion. Can some of you, that know these roads take a look to see if it safely fits our purpose, for riders of all experience levels? http://goo.gl/maps/4C0vu

  12. Yep. Here we go... Suggestions of clubs seem to not go well in here. There's a lot of poking fun at the idea, and many leave in a huff when their good intentions are met with ridicule and harsher teasing than one should have to endure when approaching under a banner of friendship and brotherhood. We'll post up rides open to others, announce gatherings in far off places, and sit around a campfire, smoking cigars and telling lies. Clubs require something many here lack the interest in involving their time in, though others may be interested. Prepare for an ass raping at the mere suggestion, learn to laugh about it, and give 'em back as much as they give you. Don't stomp off. Just shake it off and join in. Welcome to OhioRiders. We're glad to have you. .
  13. Planned miles were reduced by my delay in replacing bent handlebars. But, spring is coming... .
  14. I also am a military veteran. Welcome to Ohio Riders. Just call me Jack. .
  15. Where I work, when a holiday is coming up, we put our name on the list, if we want to work it. The company chooses the number of people they need to work and assigns them to work, starting with the senior person signed up. If enough people did not sign up they draft people with the least seniority on up, until they have as many as they need. This is what seniority is for. You paid your dues to work, or to have off, as you choose. Make your choice. The newer people will have their choice when they have paid their dues. Look out for number one, because no one else will. .
  16. I'm not a loan company. There are loan companies out there that you can go to. I have my own expenses to deal with. I have no problem looking people dead in the eye and telling them, "No". And, the owners of the following, are spot on. It you feel compelled to give it. Give it as a gift. If you get it back, then good. If you don't, you didn't expect to. And this is the one I like the best. Pay a little now to not be bothered by them asking for money again. And if they ask again after not having paid you from the first time, get mad. Get real mad. Go ballistic on their asses so that you insure they will not ask again, and they will know exactly how you feel about it.
  17. You are right. I've been lucky so far. No one has pulled out in front of me yet. I hope I can avoid them when the time comes that they do. .
  18. I treat all vehicles like they are going to pull out in front of me. Glad you didn't get hurt worse than that. .
  19. I hope this is nobody we know. I just heard about this. . COLUMBUS, Ohio - Two people were killed and one was injured when a motorcycle was struck by a vehicle Monday morning. The crash occurred at Westerville Road and Albert Avenue around 10 a.m. The motorcycle was heading northbound on Westerville Road while the vehicle was turning from southbound Westerville Road onto Albert Avenue. The person on the motorcycle died at the scene of the crash. Two other individuals from the car were transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital. The passenger in the car died at the hospital. The driver of the car sustained non-life threatening injuries. Westerville Road was closed while emergency crews were on the scene. The names of the people involved have not yet been released. 20. I'm riding today. Then, I'm putting Seafoam in the tank and gassing it up so it will be ready whenever the weather is nice. Having it ready to go will be the key to getting out in January or February when we always seem to have a few warm days. .
  21. The bike is used. It is worth only what a buyer would pay for it on the open market. Check what that bike has sold for with that mileage. Actual sales will back up your claim to what the bike is worth. Items added to the bike are also used. If you can find sales figures on eBay to support their value, you will have a leg to stand on. You are not owed replacement value of this vehicle because the chance of duplicating this vehicle with used parts is possibly slim. You are owed market value. Possibly you can strip from the bike what you could sell and settle on a price for what is left. Medical? This is the reason I would have had an attorney involved from square one. The longer you wait to show medical needs, the less they will recognize those needs as being legit. Bike value and medical are two separate things. You can settle on one but the other remains alive until you settle on it. You possibly could make up for some of the loss on the bike by what you could receive for pain and suffering. Talk to a lawyer and don't sign anything from the insurance company. .
  22. I thought I might catch somebody on that. I suppose it's an old trick that has been seen too many times. .
  23. Let's have a look at some former atheists and why they decided to become Christians. I especially like the ones of scientists, well educated, smarter than any ten of us put together. With all the advancements in science, why would they choose to be, of all things, a christian? http://www.bethinking.org/stories-illustrations/intermediate/from-atheism-to-christianity-a-personal-journey.htm http://www.doesgodexist.org/AboutClayton/PastLife.html http://christianity.about.com/od/drugandalcoholaddiction/a/Coming-Out-Of-A-Trance.htm http://www.christianpost.com/news/formeratheist-christianity-really-does-make-sense-46146/ http://www.patheos.com/blogs/crossexamined/2012/10/i-used-to-be-an-atheist-just-like-you-2/ .
