Thanks for the input the GoPro has a better picture I thought about mounting it to the crash bar on the Harley but do not know if it can take the vibration when the bike is idling

I am going to buy a Video Camera for my bike I have narrowed it down to a GoPro HD and a Replay XD 1080. I would like any input on both pros and cons I am leaning more toward the Replay XD the GoPro HD looks like it would create a lot of drag on my helmet Thanks.

Look up Ghost Rider from Russia he made quite a few videos but i think he was killed doing it. I think this is the same guy http://youtu.be/8PlMMigCdKU The most dangerous part of a motorcycle is the nut that connects the seat to the handlebars

I remember a time when military personal were asked not were their uniforms when off duty because we would get spit on and called names. Most of you are too young to remember these threads for whatever reason bring back those memories Drop it move on and if possible delete them. Pick Better Battles. -

OP There is a good reason you see so many old riders on Harleys and 90% of them all started out on sport bikes It’s all about the comfort.

How much should one have saved up for Retirement?
HeavyDuty replied to DTM Brian's topic in Daily Ride
No matter how much you save you will wish you had saved more. It’s very hard to put money aside when you are starting out (young new family kids) Start putting at least 10% of your pay away and any raises you get every other raise you will be surprised how much you will have saved 30 years from now. If you work for a company that matches a % of your 401k max it out that’s free money. Also if you can have the money taken out automatically every pay so you don’t see it you will get use to not having that money and not miss it. If you can it’s also good to have that money in a place that make you jump through a few hoops to get it out that makes it less tempting to take it when you really do not need it. -
Have you looked in to getting the old ones reworked

Why bikes are better than Women... * Bikes don't get pregnant. * You can ride your Bike any time of the month. * Bikes don't have parents. * Bikes don't whine unless something is really wrong. * Bikes don't care how many other Bikes you've ridden. * When riding, you and your Bike can arrive at the same time. * Bikes don't care how many other Bikes you have. * Bikes don't care if you look at other Bikes. * Bikes don't care if you look at Bike magazines. * You'll never hear, "Surprise, you are going to own a new Bike" unless you go out to buy one yourself. * If your Bike is too loose you can tighten it. * You don't have to be jealous of the guy who works on your Bike. * If you say bad things to your Bike, you don't have to apologize before you ride it again. * You can ride your Bike as long as you want and it won't get sore. * You can stop riding your Bike as soon as you want and it won't get frustrated. * Bikes don't get headaches. * Bikes don't insult you if you're a bad rider. * Your Bike never wants a night out with the other Bikes. * Bikes don't care if you're late. * You don't have to take a shower before you ride your bike. * If your Bike doesn't look good you can paint it or get new chrome parts. * You can ride your Bike the first time you meet it, without having to take it to dinner, see a movie, or meet its mother. * The only protection you might have to wear when riding your Bike is a helmet. * When in mixed company, you can talk about what a great ride you had the last time you were on your Bike.

Biker Wisdom, Hope its not a repost * If you wait, all that happens is that you get older. * When you're riding lead, don't spit. * If you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride ! * A bike on the road is worth two in the shed. * Respect the person who has seen the dark side of motorcycling and lived. * Saddlebags can never hold everything you want, but they Can hold everything you need. * Sometimes it takes a whole tank full of fuel before you can think straight. * It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the bed. * Only a Biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window. * You can forget what you do for a living when your knees are in the breeze. * Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul............... * Work to ride & ride to work. * Midnight bugs taste best. * You start the game of life with a full pot o' luck and an empty pot o' experience... The object is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck. * Life may begin at 30, but it doesn't get real interesting until about 160kph ! * Never try to race an old geezer, he may have one more gear than you. * Never do less than fifty miles before breakfast. * The only good view of a thunderstorm is in your rear view mirror. * Don't ride so late into the night that you sleep through the sunrise. * Riding faster than everyone else only guarantees you'll ride alone. * Never hesitate to ride past the last street light at the edge of town. * There are drunk riders. There are old riders. There are NO old, drunk riders. * Young riders pick a destination and go... Old riders pick a direction and go. * A good mechanic will let you watch without charging you for it. * Always back your bike into the curb, and sit where you can see it. * Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle. * Whatever it is, it's better in the wind. * Two-lane blacktop isn't a highway - it's an attitude. * When you look down the road, it seems to never end - but you better believe it does. * Winter is Nature's way of telling you to polish. * Keep your bike in good repair: Motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking. * People are like Motorcycles: each is customized a bit differently. * Sometimes, the best communication happens when you're on separate bikes. * Don't argue with an 18-wheeler. * The best alarm clock is sunshine on chrome. * Practice wrenching on your own bike. * There's something ugly about a NEW bike on a trailer. * The twisties - not the super slabs -separate the riders from the squids. * Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't. * Good coffee should be indistinguishable from 50 weight motor oil. * Never be ashamed to unlearn an old habit. * A good long ride can clear your mind and restore your faith. * If you can't get it going with bungee cords and electrician's tape, it's serious. * If you ride like there's no tomorrow, there won't be. * Bikes parked outside the front of a restaurant mean good food inside. * Gray-haired riders don't get that way from pure luck. * Thin leather looks good in the bar, but it won't save your butt from "road rash" if you go down. * The best modifications cannot be seen from the outside. * Always replace the cheapest parts first. * Patience is the ability to keep your motor idling. * It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end. * Ride as if your life depended on it. * Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly.

The next big push you will see in gun control will be to make it illegal for a private citizen to sell any firearms all sales will have to be thru a gun dealer. The goal is to get every firearm that is sold registered.

Sorry I did a search for it and did not find it

After If it comes to pass you are forced to shoot someone do not feel bad. When the police come just tell them a guy threatened you with deadly force and you were forced to fire. I know there are bad police out there in some parts of the country who don't support self defense. I can't help you with that. Do not talk to them until you have your attorney present. Now most young guys don't have an attorney on retainer and you may have no idea who to call. That is OK. You will figure it out but in the mean time don't talk about what happened other than to say you were forced to fire. You don't have to be an asshole just remember wait for your attorney. Hopefully you will not give a statement for a couple days. Remember if you are put in jail that doesn't mean you are charged. Most places can hold you 48 or 72 hours on a felony before charging you or letting you go. Breath deep and get an attorney. Expect to never get your gun back. You may get it back one day but maybe not. Do not buy expensive guns for the street. Buy yourself a nice sporting gun if you want a nice gun. Keep your street guns basic. The factory Model 10 Smith and the GI 45 have done a lot of work over the years and aren't fancy. Worlds We all live in different worlds. My world is filled with felons and gang members. Violence is common place. No one would be surprised if one of their friends called and said they shot a hold up man at a place of business or parking lot. In the past when I made calls the fact that the guy who is beating his GF is also on parole for 2nd degree murder flavored my world. You may live in a smaller, less violent place where shootings seldom occur and it would be a rare to shoot a hold up man. I envy you and will be moving to a place like your town as soon as I can. But be advised no matter where you are a hold man is going to be about the same. Whether he is a home boy or a guy who just exited the interstate into your town and needs some quick money. He is going to have a vicious streak and no regard for your life. Treat him like he treats you. Giving them the money, doing what they say, all that may work but there is no guarantee. If you have never read Jeff Cooper's book The Principles of Personal Defense I suggest you order a copy immediately. It is a short book but summarizes a lot of important things. Last year we had a trial here regarding an armed robbery that occurred. Three or four guys took a young couple from a parking garage near a college out by some railroad tracks where they raped, shot, and beat them. Their lives will never be the same. The lesser thugs all turned on the trigger man at trial. The trigger man's statement in the paper was after all that had happened he felt like he was a victim. Think about that. That is the mindset you are up against.
