  1. Looks like a recipe for a good time! In stock form, my CBR1000RR is sitting at 439 lbs wet. 153 hp, 78 ft-lbs. That translates to F*CKIN fast for me, so I could only imagine more power/torque and less weight!
  2. Yes they are inspiring. Also helps that Ewan and Charlie play off each other very well.
  3. I am envious of you being able to take that much time off. My work doesn't allow me take more than 8 days off at a time, so I am limited to week long trips... My best advice would be to just pick the destinations that you think you can reach comfortably and don't worry about the mileage or get caught up in the exact route or places you are going to stay. I always pick the destination and then leave the actual route to chance. One of the most memorable times was a trip taken to Phoenix and we were heading towards Denver on the highway and also towards a real nasty storm. My buddy and I turned south on a two lane road to get around the storm and it ended up being the best part of the trip. This was one of those last minute decisions that really made the whole trip worth it!
  4. Thanks, it's my favorite color combo too!
  5. Sounds like you guys had fun! I spent 5 hours in the car driving north...
  6. Heading to MI for the weekend to visit my in-laws....
  7. My wife learned to ride this summer. I have been riding for a while too and never took the MSF course, so her and I both did it. Very basic stuff for me, but she learned a lot and had a good time doing it. She started on a Buell Blast and whenever we get some warmer days, I plan on getting her out on the VFR next. I have the SENA comm system and that has been the best way for me to help teach her while riding. We are able to communicate and I can pass on my experience in "real time" to her. All those things you see and avoid because of the experience you have can be communicated to her while you are both on the road. Best of luck, it's a bit nerve wrecking...
  8. I guess your avatar is pretty fitting... Lol
  9. A few pics from today's ride. The sun was shining and the temps were more than bearable with my heated gear. Made nearly 80 miles! Route Not sure where the bugs came from...
  10. I guess I should be looking on here first when the sun is shining! I was out for a nice little 80 mile ride this afternoon.
  11. I have come to see this forum is quite a wonderful place, lots of nice people and just an overall good vibe! I would love to stop in at one of the meet and greets, even more so with my bike. The holidays are a bit crazy for me with traveling to see family, but I will definitely subscribe and keep an eye on the dates if I happen to be free for any of them.
  12. I bet that was quite an exciting day. When I got my CBR home, I was barely through the door before I had my gear in hand and heading out for a ride! Looks like Motohio? I bought a Hypermotard there a little while back. Real fun bike and a cool motorcycle shop
  13. Its nice to only pay $40 a month for cable internet and I download most shows I want to watch anyway. Digital cable is expensive!
  14. Welcome, I'm up in Middletown. Got any pics of that BMW? I bet it's quite a ride!
  15. Let me get this back on track... Now we aren't derailed Lol, Jk On the side note, I just have high speed internet and no cable TV, so I am signed up with Amazon Prime. They offer thousands of free shows to Prime Members, but the real perk for me is the free two-day shipping on "Prime Eligible" products.
  16. Here is my smoker setup on Thanksgiving when I smoked two smaller turkeys. I modified the inside with a steel plate to distribute the heat across the smoker and installed the two temp gauges.
  17. Cool deal. My wife and I are heading to MI to see some family for the holidays, would be nice to come back early and get out for a group ride though. Hmm...
  18. Love both of them! Always watch the series or at least some of my favorite episodes before a trip! Charlie also did Race to Dakar which was pretty interesting. The book (Long Way Round) is pretty good too.
  19. Welcome! I had an '06 Blast for a little bit and it was fun to screw around on. I had the same pipe on mine and had changed out the jets and needle. Sure did have a nice exhaust note!
