  1. I'm definitely bringing a drill and wire, I already know I'll probably have to wire more at the track, lol!
  2. Does anyone have a picture of their rear caliper on a Supermoto? I have no idea how to wire the pins on one, they don't have bolt heads.
  3. Do exhaust bracket/hanger bolts (where the exhaust bolts to frame/subframe) have to be wired? I understand the exhaust head bolts do... I also wired the springs that hold together the exhaust slip fit joints. This is a lot of safety wire.
  4. Pumped! Big bike is ready to rock, now it's time to get going on the mini moto!
  5. The lines are: 4 carb over flow lines and the radiator over flow. The can does not have a siphon straw for the radiator line, so the cooling system will not be able to draw from the can. There is 1 more line that comes off the bottom of the carb, it's the bowl drain. Is that on to leave that line open? There is also a larger diameter line that is the trans breather line. Is that ok to leave that line open?

    Work Boots

I've been using a brand called red back I bought off my Matco guy. They hold up very well and are light weight, but I have to put new insoles in about once every 3 months or so. I had snap on boots, which are made by coastal boot company. They were comfortable, but heavy. I always wanted to try redwing, but it's too easy to buy them off a tool truck.
  7. With my truck, I let that 7000lbs beast chill on the parking pawl. If I got the trailer on with 10000lbs loaded, throw'er in "p" and walk away. No Phucks given! I wish I had a bike I could park like a bmx bike. Remember doing that? Roll up to your friends house and and just set that thing down, on the left side though, so you don't bend the sprocket.
  8. Hey! I'm in Fairfield twp. Welcome. I usually ride on Sundays, you're welcome to tag along sometime.
  9. Holy crap! An OMRL event that I actually have the weekend off! I'm going to confirm with the better half, but I think this is a go for me. Anyone near Hamilton want to organize a ride? I have a diesel and 24' enclosed. I can handle hauling a few bikes. And anyone in the area that could help me prep a couple bike to be legal? Catch can and safety wire type of stuff.

    Haspin?

I wonder if he was forced to turn his land over to be made into a preserve? It's going to a public school first, then it'll be turned over as some sort of gov't owned public land. There's no way the land will generate the revenue in this form as it did as an off road park. Even if he gets to keep the portion that he uses as a zip line park, I couldn't see it beig as profitable. The article even starts off "the popular off road park"
  11. IMHO, this is the best line wrench set on the market, and seller is selling for a fantastic price. Retail is well over $300 I'm thinking about buying this myself to throw in my trailer's tool box
  12. Welcome. I'm in Fairfield. Do you ever get down to nky to ride?
  13. Why can't the weekends be switched? Every race falls on my Saturday at work. I hate working Saturdays. It's dumb.

    Haspin?

I hear this story all too often, besides that, I'm pretty sure big rock is closed now. My trick is to stay away from the idiot hangouts (like shoetree, backbone, fire loop, parking lot, and mx tracks). That sounds like it doesn't leave much, but it actually leaves about 600 acres of good technical trail riding. Haspin isn't fast, and it isn't single track or organized, but there are some good technical spots to sharpen skills. If you find arrows stapled to trees, follow them. You found the hare scramble course, which is a good ride. Once nighttime hits: that's when you hit the loop and cruise to shoe tree. Good times watching the people of haspin. I've been almost hit/run over almost everywhere I've ridden off road... kinda comes with the territory.
  15. It would be you that already knew the routes I would say... Lol! War woman is very over rated, and keep in mind it is where the movie deliverance was filmed. 60 is hands down my favorite road. 180 is a bit rough, but kinda fun especially on the right bike. Basically: find Helen, GA. 28 from the gap to pretty much South Carolina is fun too.
  16. Pre 99 OHV bikes weren't titled originally at purchase like they are now. Chances are te bike was never titled. In which case you may apply for a title at your local title division, as long as the VIN is clean and was never titled before, shouldn't be an issue. Then you can get a sticker at a bmv.

    Duke engine

I wonder if there would be an output limitation in that design. Just because of what's stressed and how it's stressed. I think another neat design (as far as new internal combustion designs go) would be one similar to a rotary vein air tool. It would be two stroke in power delivery nature, and probably be capable of a bunch of rpm. Would wear out quickly, but would be interesting as a motorsports engine.

    Duke engine

I don't understand any application where there's need for an ultra smooth internal combustion engine. If harmonics and vibration is your enemy, mounting systems have become very sophisticated. Honda cars have electric/hydraulic engine mounts. Just seems like a waste of time/money/and resources. Now electric stuff is innovative and useful. As battery/controller/charging technology progresses, it's going to be interesting to see what comes of it.
  19. Once you get the PCM programmed after your first service (600 mile): hang on, it's double the bike above 9000. Also, install "slicks mode" chip after first service. I liked it best out of the ride modes because it greatly reduces wheelie control. Not that I wanted to wheelie everywhere, but sometimes the front comes up on hard accel and I hated being slammed down because of it. Other than that, ride the hell out of it!

    Duke engine

They turned a wobble plate a/c compressor into a gasoline engine. The wheel can only be invented so many times.
  21. Wanting something fun and upright. Just spent 270 miles on it in the mountains of NC one day and my knees were swollen and the rest of me hurt to bad to ride the next day. Was originally thinking the 1290, but now I'm thinking hypermotard... Cause I don't need all the power anymore and would like to get back to basics. No! Those are my special pink gloves!
