  1. The irony comes quick in this sentence.

I'm sure this really warrants someone's death.

    Jimmie level: Rustled.

Just saying, you shouldnt be carrying if your too stupid to have one chambered.

  2. This is retarded on multiple levels, but heres my .02. I like BW3s and will continue to go there. Never had a problem with CCW there before because usually im having a beer anyways so i dont carry. Regardless though, as dumb as it may be (which i do think it is), companies do have the RIGHT to decide if they want to allow Civilians to CCW. I accept that. I understand that i cannot carry everywhere, and thats ok. Especially lately since my schooling is at Grant and i do Hospital clinicals and ride with Fire Depts, so i cant carry anywhere anyways. Now if i found out that places like this were supporting Anti-gun people, then that would change the story. But as far as i know they dont, and Bdubs has good wings, so ill continue to go. End rant.
  3. +1 and I have my CCW. I rarely carry.

    Watch this

Your retarded for even trying to use this video to make your point. Just a little biased.

I really don't think anywhere close to even 50% (and I'm afraid this is being generous) of CCW holders that carry would be able to hit the target in the heat of the moment. Between focusing enough to get it out of the holster quickly, taking the safety off, loading the chamber, and not just taking the shot, but making the first shot effective because that may be the only shot you have.

You can run a dry practice all you want, but no telling until you get a real adrenaline rush from seeing a weapon pointed at you or someone else.

Easy, plenty of pistols now dont have a safety, if your not carrying one in the chamber then you probably deserve whats about to happen to you, and if you dont shoot a controlled pair then like i said, you deserve to probably die. Anything else you want to pull out of your ass? Think it through stud.

    Video is one-sided.

Guns given to people with gloves, oversized shirts and no training what-so ever.

There are people who get this CHL, and do nothing else. There are also people who get their CHL, and continue for further training to master it. Big difference.

There are multiple courses around Ohio that teach advance handgun training. Commence Fire is one of them up here in NEO, but there is also TDI which is awesome. Both teach to how to fire under stress, movement, and from a holster.

No range can offer you that.

What I'm saying, is that there are plenty of people that go beyond just being able to handle a gun, so please do not generalize the whole CHL population with a 1-sided video.

I personally participate in a little group up here that run IDPA practices/drills. It isn't IDPA, but it utilizes the same targets, hit score, and timers. They set it up for self defense situations, where you have limited target area available, limited ammunition, reloading, off-hand shooting, shooting on the move lef/right forward/backward...etc. Every drill is from your holster, so you need to draw and engage.

Anyways, at first I sucked at hitting targets effectively. But now after practicing more and more...you get a lot better at it.

As well, Geeesammy, you don't know much about CHL do you? I carry with no safety, one in the chamber....aka condition 0.

    Exactly on all points.

LMT, custom cut 6.5 inch barrel

    Nickel boron bolt

    Timney trigger 3.5lb

    BCM charging handle

    Eotech 512

It now has a magpul stock too

I dont know all the rules/laws, but i thought you couldnt have a butt stock on the AR "Pistol". Looks awesome though.

  5. I would research on the HDforums and see which combo actually makes power. Seems a lot of those are more bling than go so proceed with caution if you want any real performance.

The figure machine claims 8-10hp gain. Seems all are about that give or take, so yea, it does come down to what "looks good" on the bike as well.

  6. So i just ordered some Vance & Hines staggered short shots (black) and the programmer for my Harley 48. Now im looking for an air cleaner to go with. Ive had my eye on the Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather (black), but its $300. Any other air cleaners i have seen just dont do it for me and some other i like are even more expensive than the SE. My question is, is it possible to make your own air cleaner like the SE (90 degree bend and filter) or is there more to it (electronics of any sort, etc). Might be a stupid question but its my first bike so im learning as i go. Thanks in advance fellas.

  7. Have you deployed before? What awards rank and what's your age. You Jane a pretty good rep on here so I don't see why I wouldn't point you in the right direction. Sounds like your recruiter and career counselor are fucking you. I'll see what numbers I can drum up this week.

Deployed to Afghanistan, got back in Sep. E-4, BS blanket awards, AAMs and such.

  8. There is a reserve flight medic slot in FT Knox and Johnstown PA. They are flying the new M model blackhawk too...

If this was a year ago I could have offered you a flight medic job here in texas and kept you on full time orders till we deploy in may.

I wouldnt rule out the reserves. I just couldnt get much info on them when i was looking. I wouldnt mind the drive to Knox or PA either, been driving to Toledo for 5 years so cant be much worse. Let me know.

Didn't you have a Supra? 80's body style Gray? I think I remember talking to you once or twice. You seemed pretty smart. I had the Purple AWD Talon. I know a CPT at the Johnstown unit, I might be able to get you a interview at the Knox one. Its a little drive from columbus, but the Reserves really needs Flight medics.

Wasnt me, but ill take the smart compliment. Let me know what you need from me as far as more info, etc.

Also, im in Paramedic school now (be done in Dec) and i know that Flight medics now go through P school, would i just fast track through that or have to go through it again? Thanks for the help fellas.

  9. Not sure if its the same or similar, but a buddy of mine re-enlisted with the 445th at Wright-patt as a flight nurse. Working with the army in the past, Air Reserves/Guard is the only way to go.

You gotta take the good with the bad. At this point, I'm looking at the retirement benefits. If I were to retire today, I would be getting a $960 check every month and free(-ish) healthcare when I turn 58.

Oh, and when selecting a school, pick a degree that you can use in real life.

Air Guard might have flight nurses but i know that there "flight medics" are primarily medics used on planes not choppers, so not really what im looking for. Plus i already looked into the Air Guard and theyre not really taking anybody. And as far as a school degree, im in the process of getting my Paramedic certification, then need one more semester at CSCC for my Assoc. in EMS/Fire Science.

Of anyone thinks they might want to get back in later or wishes they had stayed in, I can tell you it is getting harder and harder to get back in. Which you would think it should be easier to get a trained person back in boots.

Hahn and Brian, I get the frustrations. I'm still dealing with them, and have decided I'm the one who has to make the change in how things are done. There is a sloppy element in the military from time to time. I'm sorry the leadership around you blew out your candle.

Should you decide you want back in and maybe go with a different unit or MOS, let me know and I'll help however I can.

If you can find a Flight medic slot let me know. My chain of command pretty much did nothing for me when i mentioned it, had to do the research myself and found nothing.

What MOS? Unfortunately the military is losing it's man power budget by the day so schools are becoming scarce. You may have been in a shitty unit, or been a bad soldier. There are plenty of factors that can play into your experience in the military. I will give you one thing, you do kind of have to be in the right place at the right time. I have always been in my chain of commands ear about attending anything and everything for training. You have to kind of become that guy so when a school comes down to your unit and they can afford to send someone, you're the first person they think of. You get exactly what you put into it.

Im a 68W (medic). And when i say training, im not talking being sent to schools, im saying we didnt even train at the unit level.

The military will always be a stepping stone to the next phase of your life. Have multiple plans and options and don't only follow one track because the only thing certain is change.

Enjoyed my time in, got out, and wouldn't change a thing. Living the dream!

I deff can see it as a stepping stone and i will deff enjoy my freedom out. I just wish i couldve got more out of it.

  10. Congrats. Be sure you don't rule out going back. There are plenty of non-deployable jobs, especially in the Air guard. I know a bunch of guys that wish they stuck it out for 20. I'm at 13 years myself.

Im not completely ruling out never re-enlisting, its just that what i want is hard to find/get. I was looking for a Flight Medic slot but theres really no Air Ambulance Unit in or even around Ohio. Ive heard rumors of one coming to the Akron area but couldnt get anything confirmed, and im not staying in just for rumors.

What were you expecting from the National Guard?

I was expecting to get some good training and better missions. Didnt happen that way. Drill weekends consisted of sitting around doing nothing and deployment seemed like a waste of skills.

I re elisted a few months back. In my opinion, if you can get through the first 6 years, it will only get easier every year after.

I thought of it like that, but then realized there will always be some ate up dick head above you anyways lol.

I finished up my eight years in 2008 and kinda wish I stayed in, since right now I'd have 13 years under my belt. The stupidity was growing too strong for me though. Having to salute 25 year old butter-bars fresh out of college and E6 weekend warriors "leading the way" pretty much forced me out of the Army. I can't say I've become better friends with anyone outside of my times overseas, but the bad outweighed the good. Like high school, I miss it a lot and will think about it almost every day the rest of my life, but to live one more day in the shoes of my past would quickly remind me why I didn't re-enlist.

Oh and yeah, definitely go to school.

I agree with the stupidity and bad times outweighing the few good times. This is the main reason for getting out, just not worth it. Drive from Columbus to Toledo every month to do nothing just isnt worth it. I did make some good friends on deployment, but i still see them outside of drill weekend. And as for scool, im already in Paramedic school now. Its been put on hold for a while now because of Army interference so its nice to finally be on track with it.

    Thanks fellas.

  11. Welp, just got home from my last Drill weekend in the National Guard. Its been a very long 6 years for sure. Im just disappointed that it wasnt everything i thought it would be. Besides that though, i did get to serve with some good guys............some bad ones too though. Regardless, im done now, and it feels good. That is all.
