  1. There there is public land out near the wilds. It is owned by AEP and you need to get one of the free permits available online.

A friend of mine has already taken a doe this year out there. I have hunted out there an on opening day a few years ago I got a doe in the morning and a buck in the evening.

    http://www.aep.com/environment/conservation/recland/

I have also been out there during Gun week/season and it is packed there as well. There will be van loads of Amish that come in and do drives through about every section of woods there is.

I guess if i think about it, i would prefer to stay in central oh or south east oh. But ill keep this in mind.

there is some public land by where I hunt. its across the street from the Rock house. theres usually 2-3 people there during gun. but its A LOT of land.

Is this the Rock House in the Hocking Hills region?

Delaware Wildlife Area is a decent place to hunt deer. We kick up 1 or 2 deer every time we go Pheasant hunting up there. I've seen several bow hunters lugging does outta the woods close to the shooting range.

I was thinking about Delaware but didnt know if it was any good for deer. Never been there for hunting.

  2. So finally got out for my first Archery hunt today, and went to Deer Creek since its close and has public hunting land. This was my first bow hunt ever and it was pretty uneventful. I had been to Deer Creek before, but not for hunting, so i was going in just kinda hoping for the best. After sun rise though, i realized how terrible the geography is for hunting deer down there. Only like 50 yards wide worth of woods that runs along side the creek with fields on the other side of the woods. Needless to say i didnt see or hear anything, except for the gun range and drivers on the nearby road. Pretty disappointing. So now im looking to hear of some other public land. Doesnt realy matter where in Ohio. I went to Hocking Hills the other year for Shotgun season and that was so packed, i get that its only a week long season for shot gun, so maybe its different for bow season. Any thoughts? Where do you guys hunt?
  3. 590A1 = Complete Package

    http://www.kygunco.com/prodimages/23979-DEFAULT-L.jpg

    $550 realm is normal for a 590A1. That's my choice, and I own a few 870's and a 590A1.

This is my next shotgun most likely.

One more vote for the 590's I like the slide release location so much better on the mossbergs than the rems.

The slide release and the safety especially for LH shooters.

Only thing I don't like about the mossbergs with pistol grips is the safety position. Other than that I've thought about picking up a 930.

I never thought of that with the pistol grip. Good point.

  4. Did you try PDR ? Behind the dirt, it seems the paint can be salvaged.

    PDR?

That's the type of dent worth trying to remove with a little heat and air in a can, held upside down.

Look up youtube videos on how its done.. I'd be curious to see if that shit really works.

I would rather just have it fixed the first time as opposed to me doing more damage.

Mike at Bob Boyd Lincoln on Billingsley Rd. Kevin's Cousin and a stellar guy. Runs a great shop. Had work done there and am 100% happy.

Im guessing thats pricey considering its a dealership right?

About any paintless dent removal place.

Figured this, just looking for someone on here really. Sounds like Clifford Auto, is the only one being tossed out.

  5. They arent. Once they break in they really displace the weight/pressure of having a firearm inside your wasteband.

Ive got a Foxx, which is a slightly cheaper version of the supertuck. Wear it everyday. Id like to get a holster like ops first holster just to throw on in a pinch.

Its a Desantis holster, and on their web site, this holster is also sold as one that can be strapped to the seat of your car, so im going to try and find the right piece to do that with it. Might be able to just order the strap from them.

  6. I watched the whole 12 min video waiting for the ND. Also at the end of the video he says hes friends with Tex Greber (the guy that shot himself in the leg, been on Tosh.O, etc), so that explains everything.
  7. So after only a few weeks, i received my Crossbreed Supertuck for my M&P9c. Until i got the Crossbreed, i had just been using a generic nylon IWB holster which i thought was comfy enough to wear. But once i got the Crossbreed and tried it on, wow, what a difference. This thing is amazing. Its got a leather backing, which prevent any of the pistol from rubbing you, and kydex for the actual holster which is great for retention and reholstering. Theres 2 clips that spread the weight out evenly and comfortably over your belt compared to the one clip i had on the nylon holster. Its just incredible, as soon as you put it on, you forget that your even carrying. I wear mine at the 8 o'clock position (left handed shooter) and it conceals the pistol very well. Obviously if you wear tighter clothing itll still show, but for the most part, im concealed very well. I have no complaints about it. I just have to make an indent in the leather where the mag release is so that it doesnt drop the mag on me. But its completely customiszable as far as cant, and ride height. Plus theres a life time warranty that comes with it and a military discount. Not a bad deal for $70. Just thought i would share if anyone was considering getting one.

Inside the pants (these pants are more snug and still fits and carries great).

  8. This happened before i deployed last year and decided to just wait until i got back to fix it. It was a hit and run. Damage is small dent to the passenger side rear bed of the truck. Insurance quoted it at about $700 to fix with a $500 deductible at Gerber in Grove City. I was just wondering if anyone knew where it could be done cheaper if anywhere or if this price was best. I would almost prefer to pay someone here who has a body shop if possible. Thanks in advance.

  9. What do you mount these safes to? Bed frame or something else?

Really anything you want. Mine also came with pre-drilled holes and all the hardware. I didnt mount mine though, just have it under my night stand. Works great for a third the cost of the bio ones.

  10. http://www.vanceoutdoors.com/products2.cfm/ID/85687

I picked this up a few weeks ago after originally going in for a biometric safe like your looking for. I decided on this opposed to a biometric safe for a few reasons. I figured i would leave it locked during the day/when i didnt have the pistol on my person, and at night, i would put the key in, and unlock it with the door shut. This is just as fast, and more reliable (doesnt require batteries to work) than the bio safe. Also, only being $30 made the choice easier. Definitely consider this before blowing $200 on something that will do the same thing.

  11. Seems like a steal. Dont know much about Sigs but my buddy swears by there hand guns. Dont know/havnt heard anything about the rifles though. Dont think you could realy go wrong with it.
  12. I went to Urban Active last year for a while and wasnt happy with it at all. Only went because two friends/lifting partners went there. Its a very metrosexual gym thats over run with hundreds of treadmills/cardio equipment, but you have to wait in line to use one of the 3 flat benches or only 1 squat rack. It wasnt a gym feel to me at all. Now i go to the Y in grove city, but only because its free for me and the fam plus they have child care.
  13. Iv had mine for a yr and some change. Love it. Doubles as an EDC and home defense. Only problem iv had with mine is the front sight white dot fell apart, but already replaced it with night sights. I just use a cheap $25 nylon holster for now until my crossbreed gets here, but its just fine and easy to conceal.
  14. So it still seems like kind of a gray area. Im not talking about going out carrying and knowing that im going to go get some drinks. Im talking like, im up at Polaris and a buddy i havnt seen in forever offers to get a couple beers or a similar situation. I get that its best not to carry IF you know that your going to drink obviously, but what about when its a spur of the moment kind of deal. Even the code and the quoted post/link couldnt 100% clarify.
  15. Dont feel like doing alot of research and reading fine print to still wonder the facts so someone fill me in. Question is, if im out and carrying, but then decide i would like to meet up for some drinks, what can i do with the pistol. Problem is, i have a regular cab truck, with no locking glove box or center console. I was assuming that i could just leave the pistol in the glove box unloaded with the ammo in the center console or behind the seat or vice versa. Seems like kind of a gray area though since its a regular cab. Anyone know?
  16. Welcome home Hahn. Once I came home, Eric ^, and I went and got our CCW instructor Certifications with the NRA. I have been waiting on my credentials from the NRA and have been reassured they will be to me next week. They messed up my name. Anyways, I'm in a Military School in Arkansas for a few more weeks.

That all said, Eric and I should be good to go next month. He can teach now, I have to wait. If you would like, I can touch base with you and get things started. Just let me or Eric know if you want to go forward.

    Thanks.

Anthony, I'm still good with what we discussed and we can take care of that when our work schedules match up. Thanks

Thanks Joe. Just let me know when you get back and well talk it over a beer or two.
