^ what he said. Especially with this being your primary mode of transportation.

Not my bike but changed a rear tire on a sportster today. I'm confused, some bolts are metric some bolts are standard and you have to take the left shock off to remove the brake caliper bolts. Fucking Harley.
I hear they require way less torque!

I can meet up, but I don't get off work until noon on Friday.

Is it a waste taking a dual sport to this event? I was planning on trailering down a KTM350 and an FZ1 down for this event, but work obligations prevented me from going. I was thinking I could ride with the KTM for most of the time, but I wanted to ride Cherohala and some other nearby roads on something sporty.

Those dealing in child pornography should be put in general population. They should not be given special privileges and put in separate locations.

Nice collection. Variety is the spice of life. N + 1.

Thanks Tim! I ordered a set for the FZ1 for $225.

There are roads outside of Ohio?
You can tell spring is near. This thread is becoming more contentious than the 2nd amendment thread.
There are many bikes for many purposes, and most of them are fun.

. . . may i make a neutral comment?
i drive a semi, 80,000 pounds, 350 miles a day, every day i'm working. that's not very much, for a semi.
i can't dodge. i can't swerve. i move in slow motion, everywhere i go, or i roll the whole thing onto its roof.
if you're on a bike, feel free to move in and out of my space anytime you need to. that's fine. i ride, and i understand.
just don't expect me to compensate if you make a mistake, because i will squash you in a heartbeat rather than risk other people who aren't dancing on the edge.
please remember that i am a giant killing machine with no ability to do anything quickly, whether i want to or not.
Unfortunately, not enough mc or cage drivers understand this.

It may be advisable to get uninsured/under insured motorist added to your policies. Both of my parents have been hit while riding, and both of the drivers had state minimum liability insurance coverage. Both of my parents needed their insurance policies to cover their medical bills and motorcycle losses (above the state minimum limits).

I rode the FZ1 yesterday for about two hours without any breaks. It was actually more comfortable(for the ride duration) than I was anticipating. One big difference between it and a sport touring bike: wind protection. I wore the same layers that I would have worn on the Connie. I was pretty cold during the 2nd hour. It was a good day to ride, considering that it is still February,.

Rode the MT to work this morning. Let's just say I took the long way to work.
But did it take the same amount of time to get there?

I see how it is. The Connie is the Black Sheep of the family and isn't included in the family photos.
It was parked in the street. I rode it to Iron Pony to get a part for one of the PW80s. The Connie does not like the garage. (And it has bags to carry motorcycle parts).

There are better deals to be had on similar age FJRs, Connies, and VFRs. I used to be a Honda motorcycle guy, but when I went to a sport tourer, it was between the Kawasaki and Yamaha (The VFR 1200 was just coming out & ST1300 was long in the tooth).

Sat on the new one at the IMS, have now checked it off my short list. Didn't care for ergos at all or the seating position.
It wasn't about me. I want to be able to take my daughters or wife on long rides. I am cool with riding the Connie across the country while riding solo.

I sat on the new Goldwing with each of my daughters this afternoon. I definitely see one of them in the future. It will probably be a few years.
