Welcome from another person from Patalaska!

Seneca Shadows Campgrounds is where I stayed a couple of years ago. It is beside Seneca Rocks. There is some good riding down there.

Nice find. Not enough of this type of behavior in the world.

$46 for the complete package. If not, there is an itemized list on their website:

I am interested in this ride. I am going to try to make it.

Welcome! Another piece of advice is to buy the best gear you can afford. It sounds crazy as a beginner, but it pays dividends in the long run. You will be significantly more likely to ride with well designed and comfortable gear.

I sent the IBA the information concerning the lack of address on the last gas receipt. We should be OK.
When forwarding the application to IBA, be sure to include a copy of the hotel receipt and an explanation of what happened. A printed off copy of your credit card charges from that day would also be beneficial. It would prove the location of the last gas stop.

Here are all the pics i had on my camera, as usual I didn't take as many as i wanted to.
The ones in The Bad Lands for the ones that dont know i had my camera round my neck while rideing and just picked it up and randomly clicked it, they came out better than i thought they would.

You got some really good photos. It is hard to believe those random photos while riding through the Badlands came out that well.

Just got home.

I had to put my GPS into the tank bag twice because of rain, so there were two small periods of time not recorded on it. It shows a moving average of 72mph. However, it only accounts for 1054 of the total miles. My odometer shows 1101 miles. 1101 miles divided by 18.1 hrs. is a total average speed of 60.83 mph which includes all stops. Other than construction zones or refueling stops, we were never in the 60s in Iowa, Minnesota, or South Dakota.

I have just what the doctor ordered: Erosion Control Magazine. It puts me to sleep every time. I am planning on bringing a couple. I sometimes have issues sleeping.

I got a power washer if you want to sit in the driveway with your gear on while Tim and I take turns blasting you.
Only if you promise to video tape it and send it into Tosh.0.

I figure riding in the rain up to Cleveland tomorrow night will get my suit cleaned. I refuse to let the rain change my plans. (Lightning is a different story). I am going for a ride in the rain tonight to ensure that my rain suit is waterproof. If not, I will go to the Pony and get another one.

I have a couple of buddies that have had R1200GS adventures, and they love them. They seem to be well represented in the Iron Butt rides.
I personally have had a lot of good luck with Hondas and a couple of Kawasakis. After having shaft drive, it is hard to go to anything else.

You can see mine in the picture above it's mounted right above my message center on the windscreen. but I mounted it upside down with the tapered edge pointing down so I can get it closer to the dash. Also I know my EZ Pass works fine cause I used in West Virginia last week
I mounted mine in the same direction. I put the tapered portion in front for aerodynamics, and it worked fine.
-
Does it matter if the EZ Pass is mounted upside down? As in if you look at it the words are upside down on the windshield.
No. I put mine on my front brake reservoir with the Velcro tape as it was mailed from Ohio Turnpike. It works fine.

I packed everything for the trip, and I still have some room. I am going to fill some of the extra capacity with snacks.

I thought this may be useful:

This whole trip is going to rock.

Practice run of 400 miles tomorrow afternoon. I have the bike packed with everything for the SD trip. Have a return 350 mile ride on Sunday. I am ready to go!
After this morning's commute, I have settled on heated liners and a mesh suit. I will have a rain suit to put over my mesh suit if we encounter some rain. That should give me a comfortable temperature range of 35 to 100 degrees.
