If it's leaking that isn't going to accomplish anything. If you mean after you replace it to keep it from happening again then sure.

Curious to see in person, but it looks good in that color.

I believe this is about it, obviously if you want to put it in an f-body it's not going to have a torque arm mount.

Achbach is the first place that came to mind. Never used them personally but I've heard good things.

Look at the gas tank where the filler neck goes in and make sure it's not leaking. The top of the sending unit is pretty likely as well, only well to tell is to drop the tank and see. While they have EVAP and Vent solenoid issues it shouldn't cause a fuel smell.

Good luck finding someone not at the dealer with a tech2. Unfortunatly thats the only way to program them.

Just ironic how someone would never let that go, then karma comes calling.

I worked in his shop with him for a very short time, and while he has a good amount of car knowlege he likes to cut corners. Lots of technicians like to cut corners, but some of the things I helped fix on Wagner's car is just plain laziness. I really liked Rob until he stabbed me in the back by just being an asshole. I'll openly admit that he has lots of knowlege, but he never executed it well. Then he has consistantly shit on people who thought him a friend. I could look past the rules and morals he doesn't care about, but he doesn't care about anyone, and for as much loyalty he used to have on this site he'd throw anyone under the bus for no reason other then his stupid sense of entertainment. I can't speak on taking my car to anyone for service, obviously I've never had to, but if you want quality work finding somebody to trust is incredibly hard. Once you do find someone you feel is worth a try, your approach should still be very leary. I would discuss in great detail what you want and what you expect the out come to be from you project of repair. The technician should show some interest in your vehicle, because if there is no passion at all he won't care about the outcome past getting your parts installed. A good technician will look past hanging some parts on your car and want to be sure everything will function properly and for a long time after the work is performed. If they look at the job in that manner those little things that make all the difference will get done, and you will have a great experience. As a technician I have really tried to see the car I'm working on from the owner's perspective. This person is at my mercy for his safety, and needs me to be at the top of my game whether it's an oil change or a major engine repair. The major issue here is finding someone who cares, 4-5 years ago I didn't think like this and I wouldn't let my 25 year old self work on my car, then there are just the people who are either lazy or just want to make money at other's expense. Considering how the lazy typically get done faster by skipping steps, and the money grubbers charge too much for the time involved most people's first impression is how great they are because your car is fixed and was done quickly. My service manager is usually annoyed by the fact that whatever I'm working on gets done whenever it gets done, because while I'd make more money getting it done fast, I can let the car go knowing everything is right. Even if you have a great technician if the service manager can rush the tech things will get missed and screwed up. So now that I'm done rambling keep in mind that getting good service on your car starts with your clear communication, then finding a good capable technician, and having all that in a good environment where things can get done properly.

This sounds about right. They put AFM on about anything anymore. That valley cover is a dead giveaway with the plug at the back to control it.

Better plan on lifters and AFM delete, looks to have the active fuel management shit installed. Not sure of the RPO code but I'm thinking it to be for a later model truck since most trucks if not all until 2008 used a 24 tooth reluctor wheel, and AFM didn't come out until more recently. Intersting find as this doesn't seem to be a popular version of LSx, being an aluminum 6.0L with 24x crank trigger and AFM and cathedral heads. An iron block would make more sense. I look forward to seeing it apart. Isn't there a number cast on the block right behind the driver's side head? That should be the block's part number.

You guys want to know about this idiot? Looks like a fucking pro doesn't he?

Gm Techs ?'s About Charging System 2005 Malibu 3.5
Cordell replied to mustangman2011's topic in Tech and Tips
It's not damp or wet around the terminals is it? Are you familiar with the term "dark current" where a battery can discharge due to a leak or excessive corrsion? I doubt it considering the stuff was replaced, but at this point you might want to restest the battery. -
How about my wife's sister? I could care less who rummages around in those jimmies.

If you're refering to me, you are mistaken. Not only am I certified I'm experienced in it. If you disagree thats just too bad.

Holding a vacuum is great, but usually doesn't prove anything. If it takes more then a couple days to leak refridgerant why would it show much vacuum loss in a half an hour test? Just make sure dye gets added to the system when whoever recharges it. Would also be a good idea to have someone go over it with a leak sniffer to double check for leaks.

Lol, well that's flattering, even if you are trolling.

Lots of things can cause your A/C to not work, just having the wrong amount in it will keep it from having the correct pressures and even turning on in the first pla. Your question should've been "who can diag my non-working A/C system?". I could look at it, but I don't have my own equipment for evac and recovery to do it outside of work and that's not really a good deal. You could start with whether the cmpressor kicks on or not.

because you are not a sponsor, take it up with Anthony he's deleting them.

Oil consumption is very common, and the AFM is very hard on the engine causing these issues. Sounds like the rings are going south letting oil into those cylinders while the AFM is active. Have replaced a couple engines in the past for that issue. If you like the car and have it fixed, blocking off the AFM passages and changing the lifters, then having it tuned would be something I'd do. You can read up on these issues all over the internet as they are fairly common especially with mileage.

Come again? The screen doesn't show picture? as in blank? Is this some easy fix or something?

Well I guess the same way he instantly turns around he can teleport to the bottom.

You mean to tell me you can't replace a water heater? I just replaced my parents when it started leaking. You simply buy the correct water heater, Lowe's even has install kits. Cut some pipes, remove, set in place, and connect up some pipes, turn on water and check for leaks. Don't be scared. If you want to impress people you should do more then smack a keyboard. Do you want some help? Serious.

Thats cool, I get a kick out of his outlook most of the time, Clay is a good dude.
