  1. For those who have not seen it or know how Clay is let's just say "frugal", I found the thread. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82025&highlight=barbie+jeep

I bought a Troybuilt almost 10 years ago, I replaced the fuel line once but it still works fine. So I have to agree with this. Now if you are going to use the shit out of it maybe the extra expense will be worth it, but I refuse to pay more then twice as much when I can get 10 years out of a basic one.
  3. I sit in my recliner after work watching TV until bed for the most part. I'm on my feet all day so week nights I don't do much other then watch TV, I spend much less time sitting on the weekends.
  4. WTF? That's not really Phil is it?
  5. Always had those in the shop at Chevy and I wouldn't own one, the first 2 years are complete garbage with stretched timing chains and broken wave plates in the transmission. Those parts were redesigned and lots of them were replaced, other common issues involved shitty power steering (noise and leaks). I have done all of these type repairs well under 50k. If you really like them you need a newer one or one that has been fixed, but expect GM's normal half ass build quality.
  6. No good deed goes unpunished. Karma's a bitch. and any other useless saying that fits the scenario.
  7. He tuned a badass car with some 317 heads on it once, so he's badass don't cha know.
  8. Partially blocked radiator, with the car up to temp see if there are any cold spots on the radiator.
  9. This is the type of shit that doesn't need to take place in for sale threads, has been and always will be against the rules regardless of who's for sale thread you're posting it in. Fill can come back and bitch about his 1 day ban for his disregard of the rules. People please leave the for sale threads alone.
  10. Just make it faster then it is now, and then faster, just choose the right way to get there and when you run short of money, stop.
  11. Do a running compression test on those cylinders and at least 2 others for comparison. It would show better if it has airflow problems to them, usually used to help diagnos valvetrain problems but in the case of a fresh rebuild it could be other things. It sure sounds like it would be poor airflow to those cylinders after you've moved other parts around and such. Short of setting up a dial indicator to check valve lift at those cylinders I'm not sure what else it could be that hasen't already been discussed.
  12. Thinking the motor should be fine, Dad needed something to do so I gave him the old one to match up, Hopefully there will be a new one at home after work tomarow.
  13. Where about is that? I don't recall that and didn't find anything searching google or the yellowpages,
  14. I need a capacitor for my A/C unit and I'm not sure where to get one. I suppose I'll get to grainger or Sear heating and cooling tomarow if nobody has a better suggestion. Lowes does not have one that I could find. I will come meet someone if they happen to have one.
  15. This is all we ever use at the dealer, some good adhesive promoter will greatly help.
  16. What are the compression numbers on those and few other cylinders?
  17. Very nice, an honor he deserves for serving our country. Thank you.
  18. Well thats Mark standing in the backround so it looks like he's okay. That sucks.
  19. While I love the Miata, you being taller then me I'd say C5. If you can find one in decent shape, adding a few well chosen bolt-ons like headers/exhaust, and shocks/springs and sway bars will get you past the C5Z. This will likely be my next car in years to come, LS power with great handling just can't be beaten for me. The drawback is that Corvette specific parts tend to have the Corvette tax added, but the savvy car guy can do well with take off parts from better models like the C5 or C6 Z06 as just about everything interchanges just like Miatas. Well the C5 started in 97 and shares most of its chassis with the 2013 C6, while there are obvious differences in the lighter weight C6 Z06/ZR1 (mostly material use in construction of the chassis). The cars design makes the parts very interchangeable. The shocks, springs, sway bars, brakes, ect will all swap. Find some rich guy putting all kinds of shit on his C6 Z06 and you'll be the one profiting. Otherwise just reading your thread title I was thinking Miata or S2000, and having drivin both I really think they do great. The Miata is about crap without some more power like a turbo or something. Obviously you don't fit in these well, and that would prevent me. Race seats are great, but I don't like riding in them all the time and for me the car needs to be enjoyable on and off the track.
  20. Well it was nice seeing Nick and Pat at Sonic, but a combination of cold and tired got the best of me. See you guys at C&C in the am.
  21. So will I then, hopefully some others will decide to come out.
  22. Anyone want to meet at Sonic on Stelzer for some grub and then cruise to Sawmill? Say 8. If anyone else posts that they'll go I am down to cruise over in the Camaro, looks like a nice evening.
  23. I don't care how big of ricer I am, I have loved these movies. This one has more action, a better story, and some typical F&F over the top scenes. If you liked the others in any way this is a must see. The stories get tied together, and there will be a 7th movie. I'm not going to post any spoilers until more of you have had a chance to see it.
  24. So is that you and Fill? or Leigh and Fill?
  25. Retired? :dumb: I'm on hiatus until there is something on CR at my level, you know above the hoed out ricers with DSMs and junk, but below the Mark Carlyles of the world. Until someone has a respectable car that isn't going slide into me like certain DSMs or just blow my doors off with a big budget my shit will just sit and wait.
