  1. Call me a pussy but auto-x in the rain isn't any fun and I wouldn't go anyway. Lets just hope for sunshine.
  2. Better order some rims and tires ASAP, those Prius tires are the worst thing about a stock BRZ.
  3. :lolguy: The first time I have seen "ricer" summed up so nicely.
  4. Sorry recent bad experience with some narrow minded people, driving a Miata and talking shit about Camaros and Mustangs. :dumb:
  5. Sunday....SUNDAY........SUNDAY!!! Many of us will be going to The Ford owners autocross at Columbus Motor Speedway. If you have never gone autocrossing this is the perfect place to try it, there is little to no chasing cones, just driving. Fairly simple course, that is easy enough for a beginner, but fun for all. I'll be there, as well as others that can show you the basics if need be, it's too much fun to miss. BE THERE!!!
  6. It's amazing how much fun these little cars are, just don't turn into a Miata douche.
  7. I have the same wrench in my box, it's a really great tool. I bought the techangle wrench too, but I still use the split beam wrench for stuff. Hope you bought the tech wrench that does angle.
  8. Christian- I have worked in these type shops, and trust me when I say, they are not equiped to do it properly. Same thing goes with many cars that have reset procedures to keep the stabliy systems and other electronics working properly. It's not like tire shops train their employees on doing this stuff correctly anyway, cranking on tie rods and shipping a car is not a proper alignment on anything, let alone a Porsche. As I stated above I think the tech is about worthless too, but he's far from the only problem here.

    Hello CR

Sean Butt is a good reference, at least you didn't say PoClayto turned you on to the site, LOL. Welcome, hopefully run into you at an autocross.
  10. I'm not surprised at all. Bitching about shit you shouldn't be working on is pretty normal, driving through the grass and being a complete asshat with the dude's car is over the top. Stupid people running stores like that feel that they can't let any bussiness get away, no matter what it is, if they should be messing with it or not. When they should be informing the customer that he should take it somewhere with the proper tools (if there are any reset procedures), and the proper training, it's not like they're aligning a chevy. I can just picture the arguement the tech had with the counter person when he was handed the RO. There's a lot of stupid here, not just the tech, but the car owner for going there, and the dumbass that wrote that up.

    Got a new JOB!

Congrats, have fun with Cali's politics.
  12. Okay, now the threads are together, please avoid making duplicate threads on the same topic. Thank you.
  13. As far as I'm concerned its run it course.
  14. Dude stop taking it so seriously, I've been around this board long enough to have met most of the people who will ever come out from behind the keyboard. You have nothing to worry about.
  15. C5s have had stupid issues caused by the wire around the key cylinder, and of course the infamous column lock. I've had a few that had to have the column lock recall redone because the relay goes bad.
  16. Perfectly normal, unfortunatly. Our key machine gave up last week (it was old and getting its workout with these recalls) so we haven't been able to do any recalls since thursday, shitty.
  17. I would be interested in talking to you about some training/work if you seriously consider going that route. I've always wanted to be better at detailing, and most certainly could use something as a side project that doesn't involve actually repairing cars, I don't want to repair cars after I spend every day doing that. Hope your body heals up and feels better.
  18. Not as of today, but the trucks use different parts all together. The 2014-15 trucks have 3-4 reprogramming recalls, a power slider recall, and a transmission cooler line inspection recall. and while we're on the topic, the Cruze has a vacuum switch recall for turbo models, and a half shaft inspection/replacement. The Traverse/Acadia has side airbag connector recall, water pump shaft leak recall (usually doesn't amount to more then an inspection), and a new seat belt tensioner recall that we can't get parts for. They also just reissued the Cobalt/G5 power stering recall and it will now include the HHR, this will also turn a previous GM special policy on the Malibu/G6 into a recall for the steering column and/or power steering motors.
  19. Interesting way to tell us about a concert. I'm not a huge fan of his music, but I do respect what the man stands for. Have the think about going.
  20. I certainly can't argue that. After playing with a multitude of ignition switches I have to agree that they are junk, almost all of the older ones take little to no effort to fall out of run. Most of the newer ones like my wife's 2009 Cobalt works as it should but they are recalling them anyway. The rest of their recalls are mostly inspections and simple stuff, but it's become the majority of my day.
  21. Well I measured the "standard" 2 ton we have here at work and it's 58" fully extended. Don't think that's big enough to make a difference, but thanks for checking.

    A/C Help

You need to figure out which two wires behind the thermostat turn on the A/C and tie them together. If the A/C comes on you'll know its the thermostat. Otherwise the capacitor in the outside unit is a very likely thing. Sorry I don't know what wires are what, I have never worked as an HVAC tech, hopefully there is some type of labeling.
  23. Is the boom longer then your typical autoparts store basic 2 ton hoist? I'm def interested if it is.
