  1. And here you have an engineer's explanation. When I look at the picture it looks like a defective axle, I doubt you were making more power then it should've been able to take. Sorry about the car, glad you're okay, that sucks.
  2. You guys are silly, see what codes are in the EBCM before you assume thats the issue. Wheels bearings, the wire harness to the wheel bearing, and the magna steer solenoid in the steering rack are all likely possiblities to cause ABS issues. Spend some time diagnosing the issue and only buy what it actually needs rather then throwing money at some internet diag. BTW the EBCM and the BCM are two different things.
  3. Another vote for lenscrafters, always had a good experience getting my glasses and sunglasses there, they carry Oakley and Rayban. I have both, never an issue, even at ghetto Eastland Mall.
  4. I'm sure if I had big goals I'd talk to a can expert (of which I am not) and spec out something well suited for my specific combo. However bolting together a lot of off the shelf parts doesn't neccesitate a custom can. Turbos are going to need to move air without overlap on the camshaft bleeding off boost, point of the matter is the really important specs like intake and exhaust center lines and knowing how to make it all work are best left to someone with experience. So buying an off the shelf cam designed for turbos and setups like yours is exactly what I would do. Its my opinion that camshafts can be a lot like custom tuning in that just because so and so pushes the buttons on the keyboard doesn't always make for big power difference if you're giving the engine what it wants.
  5. If you're just looking for soemthing off the shelf I'd check out Tick Performance and this cam. http://www.tickperformance.com/tick-performance-turbo-stage-2-v2-camshaft-for-ls1-ls6-engines/ Let me know if the MS3 is in good shape and you want to sell it.
  6. I'm guilty of talking him out of turning the boost knob up some more. Very impressive numbers, but I think thats really pushing it, at least if you want it to last longer then the dyno. Convo went somethign like this: me-"Dude, you do have another car to drive right?" dude-"oh yeah I got 2 other cars" me-"okay but thats pushing it already, do you really want to tow it home?" dude-"well it would be nice to still drive it for the rest of the year" long pause dude-"hey Brian, I'm done, lets get it down."
  7. Through one of my stock pushrods in it and guess what, it ran on 8 cylinders, lol. Some of the shit that comes out of some so called technicians is just amazing.
  8. I would see whats available for your car in an autocross specific pad from Carbotech or Hawk. Something for autocross isn't going to have the need for temp like a track pad, but is going to give you the maximum bite at normal temps. I have Hawk 9012 on my Miata, but they're a little too temp dependent for regular street duty.
  9. The no rollbar thing always gets brought up, sometimes they are real sticklers, even kicking Anthony out of his own rental, and Wagner and I have both run low 11s without anything said. Just depends, but don'tbe shocked either way.
  10. Agreed, but someone who doesn't plan on doing much racing can certainly try it with jeans on for a few passes.
  11. As long as its a leather jacket, and you're wearing over the ankle shoes/boots, your legal at trails until 135mph iirc. Thats all I've ever had to race a bike because I was never fast enough to need full leathers.
  12. So you're saying you pulled the line from the master to the prop and no fluid? You can try pump hard and fast (stomp on it hard) on the brake pedal, sometimes if something is stuck that will free it up. Or open the rear bleeders and stomp on it.
  13. I'd add $10 or so to the prices to have a little room, then if it does sell out it can go towards the next one, maybe give a discount to those who have gone to the first one that sold out. I'll at least buy a spot to whichever so I'm just gonna save my vote.
  14. Glad to see you and Katie enjoying being parents so much, I agree there have been plenty of bad things lately and I feel for anybody who has had to deal with it. Congrats on having some things going well. My daughter just started 8th grade today, crazy how it goes, but I'm lucky in love with my wife and my awesome daughter.
  15. I never sold this, and I'm tired of looking at it in my garage, but I'm firm at $300. Anyone want to start that winter project early?
  16. Very sorry to hear, try to keep your chin up she wouldn't want you to suffer anymore either. RIP.
  17. Still sittin here, somebody wants a fun toy. Maybe your wife likes it
  18. Sounds like an internal leak in one or the other, never felt with that before.
  19. No no no, the newest resolution is to buy 6 tubes of JB Weld, after performing the proper cross hatch pattern you mix up the tubes of JB and form about a 9mm brake pad surface. After proper cure time you can then perform the proper cross hatch pattern again taking off about 1 mm so they will be perfect t and good as new. the quality is clearly in the OEM backing plates of the pads anyway, so anything that gets to within 90% of the proper hardness spec will work properly for years to come. Good luck, and if you need any help feel free to check back with us here at CR because we care.
  20. Yes that's what he means, also things like strut tower braces, anything to add structural rigidity. Makes a pretty substantial difference on a lot of cars.
  21. Unlocked so we can see what Chad has been up to lately.
  22. What is this? musical f-bodies?
