Thanks for the help Jack. I want to stay away from organizing the groups and placing people with specific leads/sweeps. That would only lead to disaster at the event trying to micromanage like that... Plus, I believe there are people coming from other places that haven't RSVP'ed or are friends of people on the forum. Last year, we only had about 40 or so people listed to showing to the event and we had over 75 bikes. I just want organize leads sweeps based off how many riders we think we will have (and have some on reserve in case we get way more riders than expected). So for now, lets just organize people by the speeds they want to go into and then when they arrive they can decide which lead/sweep group they want to organize into . Secondly, I'll lead the med-fast group with whaler sweeping. I've talked to him and we've decided this was the best decision. wolfman1 will ride in the med-fast group, he likes to keep a fairly spirited pace which wouldn't be good for leading a slow group. (I'm sure he'd be willing to lead a medium group if needed last minute though) I'll add helmutt/snot as lead/sweep for their specific medium group.

Yea. I know. Just a general idea for people to park in general spots to park.

It's okay, I told them you would pay the bill on the paint and cleanup - - Let me know when you've paypaled me the money.

I have updated the groups. If I have previously missed your name please re-post Just put together a quick image for those to get an idea of how to park when you arrive. Last year, there was a lot of confusion on getting into the groups. Obviously, not everyone will know about this and there will be some disorganization and that's completely unavoidable, but we can try and minimize for those who do and can also utilize those who know to help get organized from the start as well... The goal of this is to minimize confusion at the meet place. When you arrive, try and park your bike in the designated location of what group you want to participate. Edit: Changed the image

Male shirts and they run fairly true from previous experience. They are cotton though so they will shrink slightly. -

Friday is last day to order shirts and get payment in for the Epic Ride. Any order not paid for will not be ordered. -
I think we can convince jschaf to lead the fast group again and in reality most guys in that group can sweep. If needed, I'll lead the med fast group but I'll see if anyone else wants to volunteer first. Whaler has agreed to sweep for that group already. Now just need to iron out the other divisions as well. EDIT: The threads for the regional meet ups are in the original post for those curious.

The ride itself lasts 2-3 hours. There's a Dairy Queen next to the meet and endpoint (at least there was last year). I'm on my phone, so not sure where you are coming from but usually we say to get there at least 30 minutes early to organize and meet other members. So you should have time to eat then and then after everyone usually mingles and you can eat again afterwards. Depending on how long it takes you to get there and home will obviously determine how much time you'll have before and after. Coming from NE Ohio myself we arrived last year about 45 minutes early so you shouldn't have much an issue.

Anyone know of a good place to eat here. We are here for work and need a good place to eat. In before the beaver jokes.

Pretty much what all the other guys & gals are saying. Take the MSF safety class and trust what they say to be very useful. ATGATT (All the gear, all the time) - So make sure you always have your gear on, even on a 2 min ride in 99 degree heat. Something I'll add that others haven't added... I'd watch this video after you've learned the very basics of riding - Twist of the Wrist II - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr-Wqs37Ug4 Oh ya, and welcome to OhioRiders.

Nice seeing you again Jim... Glad Rob was able to ride it home. Look forward to seeing you again in May.

RIP rider. It doesn't matter what time of year. We all need to drive as though no one sees you. If you're going to ride reckless, pick good spots. We all know we can have moments of just wanting to rip the throttle or bring it up on one wheel. It's choosing the 'safest' places and times to do it. It may not be safe, but if you can tame your urges and find good spots, you can still have fun and be as safe as possible while doing it. Everyone be safe out there. We all know the risks of placing that leg over the seat. Lastly, ATGATT. That is all.
