Nice, that is a much longer slide than I had and my jeans were pulverized as well as my skin. I am probably going to go with something including the armor, either way it's better than regular jeans.
May have to try on a pair of leather pants as well. With the leather, do you wear another layer underneath or can you wear them like jeans straight up?
I was planning on heading to the Pony to try some on for the same reason, hoping they will be more comfortable than wearing jeans plus my touring pants. I understand there probably isn't much airflow through them, but I would rather be comfortable on the cooler days than cooler on the warmer days.
Did they burn through or hold up when you went down? When I went down I was wearing regular jeans and it was like I was wearing nothing at all, burned right through.
I have been researching these for some time and contemplating trying a pair. Anyone using these? I am wondering if it's any different then my touring pants I currently use that have the armor protection. The problem is I wear them over my jeans and it can get uncomfortable as the outside temp increases and the added layer can feel quite bulky. The premise is to get a pair of these jeans to eliminate a layer, but still be able to handle a possible road rash incident.
I am glad we have someone like your son on our side Jim, that is some freaky shit. Couldn't imagine someone watching me and my family through my smart TV.
Used to use Mobil One and switched back to Amsoil due to issues with my bike burning it and having to continue to top off all riding season. I have read in other forums many riders having the same issues. Once I switched back to Amsoil the problem went away, rode all season without having to add more between oil changes.
Been there once many years ago when it opened and it sucked. Everything is way way overpriced. Its just another way to get people to gamble their money away. Personally I would rather go to the casino and give my money away with the hopes of coming home in the black vs. trading money for Chucky Cheese tickets. On the flip side, maybe one day I can get that Sega that's 100,000 tickets!
This is a good point, I periodically clean my carry gun even if it hasn't been fired. You would be surprised at the amount of dust, fuzz, etc. it will pick up. I know when its go time, I don't want a piece of pocket lint fouling up the action.
Which boat ramp, the one across the street from the gas station that I posted a pic on or the larger one that someone else posted on? Either spot will work IMO.
I use a Springfield XDs 9. Carries well and shoots fantastic. I too wondered if I should have purchased a .380 for the smaller frame, but watched a bunch of ballistic videos and determined I should probably have something with a little more power. I really liked the G42 and like the G43 even better. My father in law purchased one and it shoots just as good as my full size Glock.
