  1. Possibly naive question: what is the value proposition of using a debit card? I can see a small benefit in not having to bother paying a CC bill every month, but do any offer competitive rewards programs? I've always stayed away due to being sketched out by the stuff Tonic mentions, right or wrong.
  2. Wtf retirement system is this, STRS? Lol. I didn't think the state plans were that rich anymore.SB5 was the best thing Kasich ever did. I pity the mouth-breathers that voted to overturn...sticking their kids with unfunded liabilities because firemen and cops are "heros." More power to you Tonic my resentment is for ignorant voters.
  3. What is this "in the system?" If she files a complaint, it somehow gets appended into a database that all cops can see at a traffic stop?
  4. Well that headline isn't at all biased..
  5. By some twist of fate I've met this guy and am Facebook friend with him. Gotta admire the balls, but... if you guys could see the wacked out shit he types up in his status updates... 30 years ago he would have ended up in the looney bin, I have zero doubts. He's as likely to get pinched by the cops for sticking his dick in a tree as he is for bungee jumping.
  6. Lanesplitting should be explicitly legalized as part of a wider push to encourage motorcycles and scooters as transportation. As a country we are going off the deep-end with CAFE standards and gas taxes to fund highway projects... and yet no one is interested in pushing 2 wheeled vehicles that get ridiculous mpg and mitigate traffic. Lanesplitting on a bike is functionally adding an extra lane to the highway at zero cost. Filtering to the front at a city stop light has a similar effect. So fuck the dough-faced Ohioan who think you're "cheatin' em".
  7. Nope, the Ninjettes are pretty bomb proof. On a bike like that you could argue the mileage is a positive signal. The kind of owner that racks up miles is more likely to maintain it properly.
  8. An uptick in undocumented shoppers.
  9. I can see it both ways. If i had to argue in favor of the status quo it would go something like: less depletion of the ambulance driver's attention. If you're pulled over he knows you see him. You're not going to act a fool and turn in front of him. One less thing for the driver to have to process so he can drive a little faster, all else held equal.
  10. They only times I've ever been let out of a speeding ticket by highway patrol was when on 2 wheels. One of which was a 40 mph over the limit situation.. Being over 25, with gear and registration, and actually pulling over on a sportbike actually seems like a near-lock for avoiding fines. Unless you run into a bitch-cop, then all bets are off.
  11. What kind of work did you put into the suspension?
  12. Any news story detailing outrageous behavior by white fraternities calls for immediate scepticism. They are the type of target those in the media love to gleefully bring down a notch. Witness Duke LaCrosse or UVA Jackie or dozens of lower profile trumped up stories. The fact is fraternities have evolved into pretty well behaved bunches, because of the scrutiny they are subject to and because their reputation is their brand. Fats have a good deal more rules in place and controls on member behavior than the typical college organization. Also,In my experience, Southern fraternities about the least like group to ever intentionally harass our military. Not saying the antics described in this article didn't occur, but the idea that a frat went out of their way to harass wounded warriors stretches credulity.
  13. It takes courage to start an automotive company from scratch. And by all accounts they turned out a good product. The guy has my respect. Nothing about the story makes any business sense to me though. I read today EBR had over 120 employees, which would be about a $10M per year burn rate. And they lead with a product in a shrinking and highly competitive segment. Did I mention the EBR bike is inferior to its competetion, priced higher, ugly, and has no dealer network? For Hero their initial investment had to be a pure play on the intellectual property. But you'd think they could have achieved that for less than $25 million.
  14. Yet the people that do lane split in Ohio are not experiencing retaliation. Forum threads that discuss splitting in non-CA states usually evolve this way. Lots of folks chiming in with hypothetical dangers, but the people that practice filtering seem to be getting on just fine.
  15. What does it even mean to "rebuild" an earthen dam like that with houses on it? Presumably the homes get bulldozed and the owners compensated with tax dollars?
  16. I constantly late split in Columbus, but have never seen any other bikes do it. Posters are correct about the road raging. I have more data points than most to support this. E.g. my daily commute is about 15 miles on 315 into downtown. A good chunk of this is stop-and-go car traffic, where I split between the left and middle lanes. I average about 10 cages honking at me per day, and have literally never made this trip without at least 1 fool honking in anger. About once per month someone intentionally tries to block me. Have never seen a door open though. So yeah, people hate it, but very few will even notice you until you're well past. For my commute, I consider splitting safer than taking my chances getting rear ended, which happens to some car almost daily on my route.
  17. If I see any salt on the roads after this I may just lose my shit.
  18. Does it have one of the ubiquitous never-ending gearboxes? There's a lot of upshifting going on in most bike scenes I've seen...
  19. Isn't this the plot of Chinatown? Lol
  20. Just FYI, if you wear a US size 40 business suit, you'd be spot on for a EU 52 Dianese. This is based on my experience as a 42US fitting into a 54EU Dainese.
  21. If you are sincerely unaffiliated with that business, then I apologize. To me your op reads like a canned review commonly seen in sham viral marketing campaigns.
  22. Smells? More like reeks. Ain't no shame in IndMotos game.
