The rest of the stuff, $500 could get you top shelf lightly used gear (ebay, or even better fotum classifieds. ) I just wouldn't be able to trust a used helmet..

I think Musk fairly sincere in his altruism, but the choice could make good business sense. -This is going to attract a lot of startup activity to the Tesla platform and build up their ecosystem. -2 of Teslas biggest limits to growth are currently infrastructure and consumer acceptance. I will say this about the 250s-- hopping on them and just going doesn't require crossing the same mental barrier that larger bikes require. There is something about the 600s, etc, that just demand a little more of your mental resouces, a little bit of niggling anxiety is always tucked away somewhere in your brain stem. I can just grip and rip the 250, errands, commutes, whatever. It's friendly transportation. Going somewhere on the 600 is more of an event.
