Drag that thing out to Alum this summer. There never seems to be any fast boats around when I'm out there. 77-78 mph range will make me use some stick.

A 27 stepped hull Fountain with that power should run in the low 70's. A 260 Velocity with a stock 502 should run 73-74mph under ideal conditions. The Hardins are worth about 2-3mph on that boat so I bet it has an upgraded cam. For reference my 280 which is 2 feet longer ran 72 with a bone stock 502mag. It's a fast hull...

Lol. We got er almost to 80 before we ht some rough stuff today... Then blew the trans in the cummins pulling it out... Smh

 

I've run across a couple 22 Classics with big blocks in them and was very impressed with the speed and handling. That would suck having the truck die pulling the boat out. Hopefully it made it to the top of the ramp before it let go.

Might not be worth the effort and cost to rebuild.

 

This guy sells used actuators at pretty good prices. Usually they sell for $100-$150. New ones can cost north of $300.00. Shoot him an email if you don't see the size that you need. I bought one off of him and it works great. My old hatch actuator sounded like a blender with rocks in it.

Before you buy a boat, just get this in your head. All boats are piles of junk. No matter what you buy, they all suck. Once you understand that then you can go about finding a boat. The rest is personal preference.

 

That about sums it up.

 

If the OP liked to fish I would recommend a center console. They have tons of open space, easy to clean and there isn't much to break on them.

I was there two years ago with the kids. The wife and I found it interesting but the kids got bored pretty quick. We went to Busch Gardens the next day and everyone had fun.

I won't be able to make it due to work. Hopefully this weekend.

HA, any pictures of your Velocity? I was looking for a 260 but couldn't find any in my price range. Motor mods are coming this winter.

I don't have any online photos of it. It's a 280 with a blue V stripe and a black hook. I won't be out this weekend but will be next weekend.

Same here. If you're wearing fairly loose jeans/pants it doesn't print that bad with a good pocket holster. I also have the LCP and it's a great little pocket gun.
