I'm out of town on Sunday. I'll try to make the next meet. I'm usually out on Saturdays which I prefer to Sundays due to less people being out. I hate packed boat ramps.

i seen one kinda like that on alum creek. the name of the boat is red-dog the boat is super load
The boat in the video is the Bacardi Silver 36' Skater cat race boat. I've seen a few smaller catamarans on the lake, mostly Eliminators in the 25' range but no big cats. The top speed shoot-out last year did have a big cat show up but a smaller 26' DCB cat won it with a top speed of around 145MPH.

Twin 1550HP Sterlings. I would love to go for a ride in something like that.

You may think this is strange but have you tried elevating her bed/crib? My son had chronic ear infections for months. We took him to the doctor who recommended tubes in his ears. We then talked to a friend who had a child with similar problems. She recommended elevating the end of the bed where his head rests and like magic the ear infections stopped. It allowed his ears to drain at night. It worked for us so it might be worth a try. Just stick a pillow under the matress at the end where her head rests.

Yeah let me know when you go and we will meet up and hang out.
Will do.

Nice looking boat Sam. Congrats. See you on Alum.

I've had my bike down there a couple of times. I really like Cherohala Skyway as well.

I have principles and beliefs that I stand by when it comes to the war going on now....eye for an eye is one of them. Fuck the enemy terrorists :finger: ....do you really think what happened at Abu Ghraib was that bad?
Have you hugged a enemy terrorist that has killed a US Soldier or a terrorist that beheaded a journalist lately? Maybe you should.....then you too can die with your principles in good standing. Not me, I'd rather take out the enemy and live....and if that involves making a grown man kneel down nude on some sharp rocks in order to cough up some evidence or stand naked and humiliated in front of females soldiers then so be it.
At least I'll give them the courtesy of not chopping off their head or gassing them and their entire village......but hey, at least we're following the Geneva Conventions and are at least respected by the enemy who is out to kill us all.
"Dear Mom, sorry I had to die today, but I was over in Iraq fighting and the enemy terrorist, a 13 year old boy, I was facing ran out of ammo so instead of killing him and breaking the principles I live my life by, I attempted to take him into custody to perhaps one day save his soul. However, I didn't see that he had a bomb strapped to his chest. Maybe if I come back and live to fight again in another life, I'll just shoot him in the head so that I can come home and actually contribute to society and the world. Love you always. Your son."
This saved me a lot of typing. Thanks.

Way to go Michigan. Great win for the Big Ten. If Hart held on to the ball it would have been total domination. Fuck the SEC.

I fry one every year. Fill the fryer with water and submerse the turkey in it to find out how much oil to use. Mark the spot and fill the fryer with oil. I use canola and Peanut oil blended together, 3 gallons of Canola and 1 gallon of Peanut. Canola is healthier, if you don't care about that go with straight peanut oil. Heat the oil up to 375 degrees and try to keep the temperature slightly above 350 degrees while the turkey is cooking. Anything below 350 and the bird will start to absorb the oil. The temperature will drop quickly when you lower the bird in the oil hence why you need the oil to be 25-30 degrees above 350. Use a glove or you will burn your hand to a crisp, also make sure the bird is completely dry. I also recommend turning off the flame when you lower the bird in. The oil can splash everywhere. 3-4 minutes per pound and most people don't recommend frying a turkey over 12.5lbs. I always lift up the skin and rub Cajun spices all over the turkey. If you do put spices under the skin make sure you pin the skin back in place or you can overcook the breast part of the bird. Good luck!

I saw that for the first time on an episode of Dirty Jobs. Your "hogging" career would end real quick if your arm made it's way into the mouth of a big snapping turtle. Those guys are nuts.

That's a nice conceal carry piece.
On a gun note, these are good for a few laughs.

XR or BMax. If you make it out this weekend, and run into a white/blue/teal 24 outlaw, check out his new drive.
I will try to dig through old notes to see if the injectors will flow the fuel for 6lb with headers. I do know on the BBC ProChargers, with headers, stock injectors will not keep up with 7lbs.
I'm guessing on the 6lb number it might be 5lb's. I need to check the pulley diameter. An XR drive would be nice. I might have to wait a while or the wife might take a big swing at me for spending that kind of money on a drive. I'll pick your brain in a few month's to see which headers you recommend and a good place to get the prop labbed. Shoot me a PM when the shoot out gets close. Time for bed, hope to see you out on the water.

How much boost are you running now? Stock injectors?
The 14th is the little shootout at alum. Thorne, swing on by, I'll get you a ride in a boat or two.
I don't have a boost gauge but I would guess around 6lbs. It's one of the old side mount Whipple's with the two added injectors in front of the throttle body. I plan on adding a boost guage this winter as well. I'm running a stock Bravo 1 which isn't going to last long with all the torque. The guy i bought it off of just rebuilt it before I bought it, which means it's good for another 5hrs.

Nope. Thats Jeff Craft, I don't think it even runs 80's. The one with the blower motor has been mid 90's, with some left.
I was behind you on Old State a couple of weeks ago, sharp boat. Delco Jeff from the marina said you were going to call the shop.
What are you doing October 14th?
Delco Jeff is a great guy. I talked to him about some idle issues with the Whipple. I finally got it to idle a little better by hooking up the boost by-pass valve. The previous owner had it disconnected and it was causing a rich idle and some surge. The boat idles pretty good but if the surge returns I'll probably have you guys look at it. It's good to know that there's a shop around that knows their stuff. I plan on getting some Header's and the prop (30in) labbed this winter. The boat runs 85MPH as it sits but you know how it is, always looking for a little more. I'll be on the lake the 14th weather permitting.

I hate to dig up an old thread but did this ever happen? Assured is that Checkmate red with black and white stripes? If so I already ran him.

Those Velocity's are a blast to drive. What kind of power?
502 mag.
-
That seems like a very reasonable price given the condition of the boat. If you see this boat stalking Alum Creek, don't try it.

Tough to tell what the numbers were. What did it lay down?

I took my boat to Buckye one time... as soon as I put it in gear it churned up tons of mud . I never put it back in at that lake!
+1 I go to Alum. 60ft deep down by the Dam and pretty much 30+ everywhere else.

Very nice, especially since they shipped the first one just about two weeks ago. I believe the 2.8h blower also went 9's this year.
2.8H car went 9.94 @ 140.25 28PSI, 3775 race weight. Don't look at the dyno numbers, look at the race weight and trap speed. That will tell you more about the power a car is making. Ken's Whipple car always made low power on that dyno but consistently trapped in the upper 130's at 3650lbs+ even with his 2.3 Whipple. These two cars aren't gutted out POS cars either. Both run and idle like stock.

I can't believe something that big can run around the woods without someone seeing it on a regular basis. That is one scary looking beast.

I think I'm going to watch football all day and change the oil in the boat. I'll try to make the next meet.
