  1. Jim, Nice report on your new ride. Yes the Torque of a tuned V-Twin can be intoxicating or at least a enjoyable difference. I left a long history of I4 in 2004 and now after picking up the Z1K in 2014 I still prefer the soul and torque of the twin. I am happy to have both. Look fwd to a ride with you again. WV is calling.🙂 Looks like we might get a break from the heat soon.
  2. I have been using a Caberg Tourmax since 2015 on my ADV rides and like it a lot. I would recommend that you purchase a extra face shield with your new helmet because shipping cost can be high for a replacement. Also the customer service Anal Breath Dick Bag's over in Italy don't know the difference between a Visor-Lens- Shield. Caberg Tourmax by
  3. Yes, I have taken it and I think it is worth the detour. You can see the Bridge and Gorge from different angels. Great photo locations. Also on your way down to Marion, Do a quick lap around Burke's Garden. Interesting place with some history. YMMV
  4. Hi Kent, I just saw this. I am up for joining you if you would like a wing man . the Sunoco gas station is close to 374. 25381 Clear Creek Rd, Rockbridge, OH 43149. this is a common meet spot. post or ring me if needed. 740-777-1154
  5. Nice Photo, Are the Tires and Bash plate any indication that you may have enjoyed the many adventure routes located down in the Deals Gap riding area?? (snowbird loop, star loop, Cherokee challenge, ....) I know it's difficult to get any ride report out of the O.R. secret ADV society.?
  6. Service Time; Oil/Filter Change and a new rear Pirelli Angel ST. It's HOT Outside Tire change Oil.Filter Balance tire 14K MI Service
  7. Luke, Thanks for the ride. it was nice meeting new and seeing old. I was not dancing while operating a motor vehicle. I was doing some PT on my recently rebuild Rotator Cuff. Lateral Raises with a little external rotation added for style.
  8. Every two years I ride the BRP south with the wife and her spyder. I would skip skyline drive,. save it for a short trip. 219 is a nice route down thru WV. to 250 will take you to the north enterance. The lodges are great places to eat and stay. Also hit little Switzerland, NC. Great place to stay/eat is (the little Switzerland inn) On top of the mountain. If you get tired of the parkway and need a break jump off and stay in Floyd, VA. Hotel Floyd has live bluegrass playing on the grounds and Dogtown Roadhouse has live classic rock and great food. If you need to make time 221 south will get you out of Floyd and moving. Back on the parkway south Tuggles Gap Rest/hotel is great also.If you make it down to the 58 intersection you have the (Meadows of Dan) Campground if you are into tent camping. Good Luck and enjoy.
  9. This looks nice. Will try to make this.
  10. i think it is. I saw it on here.
  11. Have to work out a few issues before I commit. If I do I will be in my new summer riding outfit in Kawasaki Green.
  12. You caused me to reconsider with your Ghay Love connection thing. I am out. Have fun and enjoy Townsend.?
  13. Max, I was thinking about attending the event with both my bikes, Z1000 & V-strom 1000. Are you still looking for someone to share your big trailer and gas expenses with. I have not looked into lodging yet. I am just outside Logan on 93. Let me know and I will look into lodging. Also are you wanting to ride some adventure dirt stuff on your DR? Brian
  14. Your original post stated that the problem was Turning from a STOP. Not basic cornering or advance corning on the move. The reason I want you to stand at the position of the dot is so you can watch her eyes and see if she is looking down at the out side boundary line and going wide in the turn. She must focus on the 90deg line of sight at you to make this a no brainier type maneuver. If Now you say she is having a throttle control issue during the (Turn from a STOP) then she needs to concentrate on clutch control. It doesn't matter what you do with the fucking throttle as long as you are at 1/4 to 1/2 as you complete this turn from a stop. The Clutch engagement accelerates the movement of the bike smoothly thru the turn from a stop. so focus on that. If she stay's in the engagement area of the clutch she can better control the bike thru the turn. If she let's the clutch out to abruptly and looks down at the outside boundary line the bike will stand up and she will continue to Fuck this simple maneuver up. Keep your instruction simple and easy to understand. "Look at me , Now ride to me." This is a basic control issue that must be learned in a controlled environment before moving on to the next basic corning drill at speed or on the street. Good Luck. Again this is just a old school opinion. I am out of here. YMMV
  15. Completed Pre-Flight inspection on both bikes for an early Saturday departure on a 5/6 day romp in the hills and back country of KY.-WV.-VA. Two old overweight dudes on overweight dirt bikes. (TURD’S) if you will. (Two Unrelated Riding Dummy’s) June 2018 ADV by
  16. Use this standard parking lot layout for training area. Turning from a stop. You stand at the orange dot's are. tell your person of interest : 1. Stop at the outside of the turn in first gear. 2. place outside foot on the foot rest. 3. lean the bike over 10-15deg in the direction of the turn. 4. Turn the front wheel full lock in the direction of the turn. 5. Counter weight her outside ass cheek just off the seat slightly (3") 6. (Very Important) Speak in your most loud hateful voice " LOOK AT ME, NOW RIDE TO ME" Hope this helps. Scan_LI by
  17. Zig Zagged south to Oak Hill on the Z1K with the wife from Hocking Hills. Picked up 93S to Ironton. Had lunch at Wild Wings. Then hit 141N-Ironton to Gallipolis. Road 160N to 324W to 93N back home. 285 Miles. Great day, not too shabby road choices. Ironton, Lunch by

  19. Don't forget, 374 to Thompson Ridge. Also 278 & 356 all in the HH area.
  20. Replaced Rear Tire on V2 with my No-Mar changer for a upcoming ADV Trip. Tire by Balance tire by New Tire by
  21. Yes, The Suzuki is my ADV Bike. The Honda belongs to a friend. He left it in my care after a short trip we took for me to check it out. I completed the Service on it and have put just over 1K miles of dirt, gravel, chip.seal and curvy asphalt on it. It's a fine machine but it's not something I would trade my 2016 V2 for. He and I are doing a lap of the TOT starting on the 9th. of June.
  22. Had a nice Breakfast in Laurelville and road the Honda AT around the sticks. VIDEO

Rick, What time do you estimate passing the Marathon Gas/Riverside Dr, McConnelsville? I just finished cutting the grass, so If I don't wear myself down on tomorrows ADV ride, I might be able to tag along for some of this great ride. I got about one good day left on my Angel GT rear tire, so this would put me into a tire changing day next week.
